Chaturthi tithi is ruled by Ganapati and it occurs twice every month.
Worshipping Ganesh is very auspicious on this tithi.
When the tithi coincides with Mangalvaar , it gives rise to Angaraki Chaturthi which is doubly auspicious.
Being a Rikta tithi , while we must avoid initiating long term material ventures on this tithi, the energies of the tithi is suitable for spiritual growth and purification.
Goddess Bherunda is the Nitya devi associated with this tithi and her worship enhances the effects of this tithi for the individual.

Both Krishna and Shukla chaturthi tithi are ruled by Ganapati , and it occurs twice every month.
During these tithis we can chant Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha 108 times.
