A few years ago, I got my sap from box elders. They are in the maple family just took a little more sap to make good syrup. Both you fellows are doing remarkable jobs on those engines. Thanks for the videos and great instructions, Greg.

Dawn is well known as the single best degreaser for automotive applications. Not just dish soap, Dawn dish soap. It cuts mineral based oils, greases and solvents as well as food based oils and greases. Not all others do that.

Lol My question for you is when you did honing of your cylinder walls and sleeves did you just use the 220 or did you go over it with the 440 when finished? Have you ever been into a Farmall torque amplifier? Are they the same as your minneapolis-moline?
I can't wait to see that project completed.I LOVE Farmall M'S. With your skill and attention to detail that engine will be good for years! No knock on that engine then. Great job Senior. :-) :-) :-)
You mentioned "flash rust', I was wobnder that too,..did you use any protective spray i.e. light oil on that block afterwards, or is there any need to? That was got to be one of the cleanest engine rebuild I have ever seen,..,and I thought I was diligent, when I re-built my '48 Willys Jeep engine a couple of years ago!

Easy Off Oven cleaner does an amazing job on an old block it`ll actually remove old paint .Leave it over night on a cold block !
You should of hollered me up when you came to MO. We would have put youall up a couple days and opened up a keg of nails.

You boil down the sap about a 10:1 reduction to make maple syrup for breakfast on pancakes , French toast , waffles etc
