    You're a good man to tackle the sink clog. My aunt's old house had a similar set-up, the kitchen and bath emptied out into a pasture. Good place to find worms for fishing. Good video, thanks.

    I recently had a clogged main sewer line. When the clothes' washer ran, it backed up into the bathroom and flooded. Had to do an insurance claim to repair the bathroom, and carpet in most of the rest of the house. The clincher was the rotorooter guy. 15 minutes with a jet snake with an incorporated camera. The clog was a few feet our side of the city pipe. Cost us $1,800 for 15 minutes.

    Now days those "illegal" drains we call "separate gray water discharge system." Both my father and mother grew up in houses like that. Probably because my grandfathers both built their homes themselves and later added electricity and plumbing and they followed the normal practice at the time for their rural areas.
    Every summer when we'd drive 500+ miles up into Canada to visit grandmother (that grandfather died in 1977 at 77) we did chores around the place. One of those was to dig out for better drainage the discharge from the kitchen and laundry (south side of the house) and the discharge from the septic tank (east side of the house, no leach field). Fun (not). The other grandparents' home discharged closer to house - no cattle around there - into a "cesspool" with a metal dome over it. Around that area the grass and a couple of willow trees grew really nice.

    AAA Well Drilling from Lexington SC drilled my well on Tuesday of this week to a depth of 180 feet. The pump is sitting at 80 feet and we're getting 15 gallons per minute. They started drilling at 12:30pm and were pulling out of my yard at 6pm. Now I get to start the cleanup process......
    Many thanks to you for your videos to help me understand what to expect and what was happening as they were dilling, grouting and setting the pump.

    Make sure to change your air dryer/desiccant cartridge under the hood. If theres that much water in the tanks your getting bypass upstream. Our VA humidity does a number on them. I'm yearly on our Bendix AD-IP style.

    The ratio of case to total drill depth just seems funny to me 😂 sure looked like a muddy mess in the beginning.

    • @h2omechanic
      @h2omechanic  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yea, it's not our typical way we like to do it, but with 30gpm coming up out the well, the friction of the water shooting up the casing can lift the casing and that ruins the seal at the bottom of the casing. So rather than risk it ripping out, the customer got a great well that 50% cheaper than the estimate he was given! So it turned out great for him.

    In my area in romania it's not about hitting water. There is so much underground water. It's all about hitting the right aquifer. For instance i have a 350ft well and i have 3 german degrees of water hardness and a friend of mine, half a mile away, same depth but 60ft higher in elevation has 25 german degrees hardness.

    I was kind of curious. It just how deep you had to bore that well I realize your casing. You said you stopped at 127 but did you guys drill much deeper than 127 this stuff is always very interesting to me and I show enjoy your videos as they seem to be more clearly plainfully explained and there's a part of me. I wish I could have done this as a career

    @h2omechanic Just curious - I've watched nearly all your drilling videos and you seem to always use PVC for the casing (other than the 7ft metal section). Why do you not use steel pipe for casing? Cost savings? Prevent rusting out? Other reasons?

    Love your videos, I am learning alot - mostly about how much I don't know. Moving to a new manufactured home on some land next year with a well. New territory for this city boy. I see that you often have to access the pressure tank and switch under a trailer or in a crawl space. Would it be optimal to have a 10x10 shed to house these components, and maybe any water treatment systems as well? I really don't like the idea of having to crawl under the house some winter morning when the water stops flowing.

    • @markbernier8434
      @markbernier8434 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Answer depends a lot on the climate you are in and what you have for winter (Canadian here) nothing wrong with a well house in principle.

    • @jtancsi11
      @jtancsi11 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Western New York state, Finger Lakes region. I'm thinking about an insulated shed with power close to the well head, to house the pressure tank and water treatment system which is definitely needed. (Hard water, smelly water, still need testing to know full scope) As long as it doesn't violate any stupid NY codes, my only worry is I will have to have some sort of emergency power in case power goes down with temps well below the freezing point.🥶

    • @markbernier8434
      @markbernier8434 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Essentially you would be building a teeny tiny house that you would have to heat all winter. On the other hand, if there is some sort of utility room, Hot water tank and such, that is where it generally goes. I personally would vote for inside as I am changing filters etc at least monthly. @@jtancsi11

    I have a question regarding my water pressure. I lose pressure pretty quick, when running water. Once pressure switch kicks pump on and gets back up to 50 psi it’s all good but it doesn’t last long when used. Could it be I need a bigger pressure tank ?

    • @h2omechanic
      @h2omechanic  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, that's basically our limit. We drilled one 1,280ft at my old home when the rig was brand new (for geothermal) and another one to 1,140. No need for us to ever drill past 900ft realistically, we'd stop & frack it at that point bc the drill bits throw away by then.
