From someone who lives in NZ, despite a few inaccuracies, this is overall a pretty good overview of this beautiful country

Very good content. One thing is that all prices are outdated though. Everything is MUCH more expensive now.

Thank you for the video. Very informative.... unfortunately based on your info, I would not be able to retire there, but I would like to visit someday. Thanks

In fact both Bungay jumping and the jet boat were invented in no. However, no has a restrictive immigration system, with those wishing to live, work, or retire here have to show they bring value to the economy. Many reasonably wealthy Americans find that they are not entitled to purchase property, or live here long term. However, the information you need is readily available on government websites. Many pensions can still be collected while living in New Zealand but your own pension provider should provide that information. Cost of living can best be gauged by looking at New Zealand based websites such as supermarkets and rental agencies. As a local I recommend you buy into a new building but be aware that our building standards are not high and to save yourself money medium to long term, you should specify an above code insulation. Double code or passive house levels would be best. Consider working closely with your designer and builder for the best outcome. We don’t really have ghettoes here but there is a significant wealth gap between the richest and the poorest.

Maori aren't indigenous if they came from Polynesia. Most folks who are retiring are 60 + years old. Proximity to good health care, retirement homes, low crime rate, these are the things of interest to them.

Mate - retired people do spend and contribute to the economy - and they don't take away jobs from anyone; As a Kiwi I think someone who chooses to make NZ their home should be welcome!

@@chrisj8764 We need to target the 30-40 year old demographic as they are the highest spenders and will offer NZ 25-30 taxation. We would be lucky to get 10 years of 65-75 year olds and would be a drain on our health system.
