I woke up super early to be one of the first arrivals at Pop’s Bakeshop in Agat. I figured since we were staying in this area, might as well take advantage of it and get some breakfast items there while they’re nice and fresh. I picked up a spam-and-egg bowl, arroz caldo which is basically a garlicky chicken and rice porridge, and their popular cream cheese rolls. I got the taro (ube) ones because I love purple, haha!
Now the original plan was to spend the morning snorkeling at Gab Gab which is on the Naval Base, but apparently their background check system was down so I wasn’t able to get my mom a visitor’s pass. Instead we decided to just continue driving south and find another water spot. We made our way all the way to Merizo and pulled up to the Merizo Pier. I took Baby Mila in the water for a little bit but there really wasn’t an area I could have her wade without coral, rocks, or sliding down the ramp. My mom just held onto her while I snorkeled for a bit. After using the outdoor shower, we took in the beautiful view and so did a few tourist groups that stopped by.
My mom then suggested we drive down a bit to the Merizo Bell Tower where there was a giant Christmas tree-like structure made out of painted coconuts. I never even knew that was there and it was so neat! There were also some cute Valentine themed props set up that we made sure we got some sweet pictures with.
On the way back we stopped by Marina Grill for lunch and enjoyed their pan roasted salmon filet and their seafood linguine, perfect dishes for all the activity we had earlier.
In the evening I met up with a couple of girlfriends at Sushi Rock in Agana, one of my favorite sushi spots. It was so nice to reconnect with them and while they all got to meet my baby girl, I also got to meet theirs! It was the ultimate girls night out!
Was stationed on Guam from 75-77. Worked in Apra Heights as part of a special detachment of the USS Proteus AS19 from Apra harbor.
Oh nice! Have you visited back since then?
@@DaniAdams unfortunately, no. It's the one place I'd like to go back to just to see how much has changed or not changed.
@@attitude957 Oh wow! Yes a lot has definitely changed, but the beautiful sites and hospitable people are the aspects that I can always count on not changing 😊
Love your video as always!!! I am planning on visit Guam again next year after my PhD qualify exam 😂 I can reward myself after that!! I wanna try all the restaurants you recommend in the past! Thank you ❤
Absolutely! Aww wishing you luck on your exam--that would be an amazing accomplishment!
Yes definitely for my next visit, I'll also be trying all the restaurants I didn't get to eat at during this trip 😁
