I was a field mechanic for H&P saw places i probably wouldnt have seen otherwise. Started in Okc, then West Virginia, back to okc then East Texas covid hit and it was all over. But i loved working there still talk to alot of the guys i worked with some are still there. Great company!! Always treated me good
If you have endurance and have the mental stability to stick with it then you will be fine. If you have never done any physical work then I suggest you start a weight lifting routine before you apply. Being a weak floor hand isn't ideal and pits strain on other hands.
I am real excited to say that here around February or March of ‘24, I will be roughnecking back in west Texas with H&P. Easily one of the best companies I worked for.

Is there a minimum height a floorhand/derrickhand should be?
Or it doesnt matter, as long as you have the strength and durability to last at the rig?

I've seen a skinny 5'3"guy working floors and worked for a driller that was that height too.

Do floorhand jobs involve heights at h&p
All floorhand positions require you to work at heights in some way shape or form.
I went to the board so yes, I have worked at heights as floors
I have no issue climbing stairs from one level to another ladders will have me crying to go back down sadly
A floorhand's 1st promotion is to Derrickman.
