Dr.Gohl was a Gonstead Fellow, like a jedi master. He was an amazing man to learn from. His adjustments literally changed lives and still do. He practiced Gonstead in its purest form.
I had the great pleasure to know Dr. Gohl outside of the clinic. We were part of the same church family in the last few years of his life. I was a young man beginning to serve as a pastor, and Dr. Gohl made a point to spend time getting to know me. He and I had wonderful conversations together. I’ll never forget Dr. Gohl. He was a special man who knew the love of Jesus, and I’m sure that was felt in those caring, strong hands of his. One more thing I’ll never forget is his collection of neckties. I know that sounds funny, but you get a glimpse of them in these videos. He wore the best ties! 😁
I was able to learn 1 on 1 with Dr. Gohl for many years. What a gift. To this day I can hear his advice echo as I adjust patients. What an amazing Dr he was. Simple and effective. Thank you Dr. Gohl for your contribution to Chiropractic. You are missed deeply.
must have been awesome learning from him...when I was in chiropractic college, I had an old doc as a clinician...He had so much experience and knowledge; then he passed shortly after I graduated. I feel lucky learning from a master and I will never forget him. Great video compilation and I have learned a lot from it as I switch from diversified to Gonstead...
Thanks for showing Gonstead technique.. But I didn't know what medical problems was he treating nor how effective each treatment for those patients. Good video.
What an amazing Chiropractor! Can anyone tell me why he always seems to adjust the atlas on the opposite side to reduced rotation? I thought for example an ASRA would have reduced rotation to the right and you would correct the laterality from the right side?
Gonstead uses the spinous process as contact and aim to pivot the misalignment of the disc, right rotation restriction will be thrusted from left laterally to the right and P to A on the spinous.
Yes, we do a few seminars a year in our clinic in Carlsbad for students and practicing doctors. You can contact Wilson Lu or Mark Manding who is coordinating our May seminar. Thank you for your appreciation for Dr. Gohl's work.
he was so good at this move. dang. Dr Gohl, really should've done some CBP cause his forward head translation is bad. that posture can't be healthy for CSF flow or vertebral blood flow
So what is actually occurring here, considering that these are students and not patients. How does adjusting a student's neck in this manner (one with no injuries) differ from cracking multiple joints in the neck using a layman method. What benefit has occurred here? I am really interested in knowing the difference, especially if the patient is not injured.
Question for you Doc: I see he is always taking the P out of the listing and using his left hand most of the time. I noticed that in your videos as well. Do you ever use your right hand to adjust? How would you do a LPI C7? Still with the left?
+shootnscore26 I use the same hands as Gohl. Focusing on the rotation and wedging makes you forget about the P. Any side will do, except for atlas, sacrum, ilium, or occiput. If a segment is severely rotated I'd contact that side, but that is really rare. If you get out the P, the wedging and the rotation will come out. Btw, in the chair you're really getting out the I to S. Segment must be lifted, Dr. Gohl used to say it was like "turning on a light switch."
+Gohl Clinic Of Chiropractic Thanks Doc, that is what I was looking for. Atlas, sacrum, ilium, and occ are understandable; as for cervicals, I have focused on getting the I to S component much more and it is actually more comfortable for the patient. I am much more comfortable with the chair; c7 is still a challenge sometimes, but people are liking it much more than the rotary style found in diversified. Thanks again for your help--the light switch is a good way to visualize it.
Of course. You can check at Gohl's videos at his website, gohlchiropractic.com. His daughter still sells them and he teaches this concept. I'm sure you're doing fine with C7 too.
@@myencinitaschiroSir, I bought the DVD from his daughter named inside the ajdustment, in the lower cervical part, Dr Gohl said the SP should be lifted up by the finger tip, and to take the slack out. But in practice, my finger always slipped away, because the space between is too small. Can you give me some advice? Thanks so much

That's a talent that comes from experience. It's not raw, brute force, but intuitive ability that comes from seasoned, practiced skills in healing.

What a master. It's so gentle and precise. Are you teaching seminars, Dr Joe?

Answer is zero difference, other than making technique and yourself sound more important.
