As a Russian, I want to say that in Russia they do not call THEIR fathers PAPASHA, that's what they call the fathers of children who are guilty of something or simply do not behave adequately. So in this case, where Misha calls his father PAPASHA is quite insulting. It would be closer in meaning to call the father BATYA or just dad (PAPA). Wrong tank. The intro scene shows a T-34/85 tank which was not in service until 1944, a year after the Battle of Stalingrad was over. They might want to hire actual historians to fact check some of their garbage. Their millennial writing team doesn't seem too concerned about history, accuracy, or story for that matter.
I would say the only accuracy their historic team ALWAYS is concerned about .....is...Nazi are bastards....and for the type of audience, I guess that is more than fair and enough...

@@czr7j9 But Call of Duty has never been stupid and pointless either. They always at least tried to make the game realistic. Take Call of Duty 2 or any MW for example. But this scene is just complete garbage. Running during an air bombardment, climbing walls and a falling house is just nonsense. Not to mention the clothing of the Soviet soldiers, they look like redesigned American soldiers from the campaign in Italy lol.
Would it really occur to anyone to climb onto the roof of a house during an air raid? It looks cool, of course, but it’s not at all natural. These gimmicks are more suited to a Tomb Raider than a World War II story. Beautiful, picture devoid of logic, surrealism.
And at that time there wasn't ventilation shafts in Russian and most countries buildings. :) But of course for a game and modern generation is probably more interesting with them.

The home environment, of course, has nothing in common with the Soviet one of that time =) It looks like a pre-revolutionary alternative universe, but definitely not the Soviet one. clothes (suspenders, variety) would be more suitable for Italy, but in the USSR, by and large, they did not dress with such high quality. Everything was much simpler and more canvas. It’s a pity that games strive primarily for “simplification” and “popularity.”

This format seems so tired.
Linear map, cheesy dialogue, endless "everything collapses around you" cut scene, "press forward to parkour." Get shot in the face, rest for 5 seconds to regain full health. Game drags you through the story they want to tell regardless of your input.

Couldn't agree more, nothing to see here, this formula has been churned over so many times!! We've become addicted to this stuff unfortunately. Other than improvements to visuals and sounds the premise is the same. It's a rinse and repeat job with extra bells and whistles. And have you noticed that all the games channels on TH-cam start with the headline "amazing FPS with INSANE graphics" or "This game LOOKS incredible". Yeah but the GAME is the same as all the others. FPS need and new reboot, because being an indestructible, parkour running, melee machine, multi gun wielding, super athlete is getting dull.
But where's the fun in a FPS that when you get shot I dont know maybe you died instantly, and actually you were a bit rubbish with weapons and sneaking up behind a big fella and trying to stab him in the neck doesn't work out so well, and if you tried to climb up the side of a building you fell off and twisted your ankle..... Rant over.

This looks really good, almost like, 'Wow, this is the best real-time graphics I've ever seen!' But the immersion is broken. The camera movement is still the same as games from 1999. I think this will always be the thing that separates games from reality for years to come.

As a Russian-speaking person, I can say that the screenwriters didn’t try and don’t know how to speak Russian; I have never heard someone called “Lyagushka” - this word translates as “frog”. And if you close your eyes to this, you can see how stupidly everything was done: how a tank explodes near Polina, a building collapses, bullets fly by, shells fall, and in the end she was harmed by 3 boards falling on her - well, yes, this is for the sake of an epic scene. And the Nazis, seeing her in Soviet military uniform, allowed her to walk around the building, although, at a minimum, they should have detained her.

Однажды ей руку пробил осколок между двух костей (предплечье), так осколки косточек убирали, протягивая через рану скрученный бинт.
Также она рассказывала, что собак тренировали есть перед гусеницей работающего танка, а потом голодных собак обвязывали взрывчаткой и выпускали на немецкие танки во время атаки.
Глядя, на вырастающие сегодня поколения равнодушных манкуртов, мне становится страшно за будущее.

I won`t parrot what everybody is saying, some of the comments make a lot of sense, others less, the only thing I`m gonna ask is why is it when the Germans are speaking German, the subtitles translate their speech into English straight away, but when the Russians are speaking Russian, the subtitles just mirror what they said in Russian(in Latin script for whatever reason)? This would not be a problem for me since I know Russian, but for the majority of players the subtitles would be meaningless, since they quite literally lack meaning. And I would not have a problem with that if it was a deliberate choice for a more authentic experience (although in such case the Russian words should be in actual Cyrillic letters other than English ones), but you already translate the German speech. Where`s the logic in that? Who made this? Just pick one and stick to it, don`t mix and match translation techniques. I know it may sound stupid but that was literally the reason I stopped watching. I was ok with the protagonist being seemingly Domino from Deadpool 2 and Ezio from AC in the same person, I was ok with the COD-esque combat and action sequences (who would have guessed in a COD game, silly me), I was even ok with the amateurish use of Russian words in a way they would never be used in real life. What broke it for me is simple human inconsistency of workflow. Just pick one god damn it, you lack basic logic.

@BurningBroadcast That is actually hilarious. I played a ton of it on multiplayer... never the campaign. I was really good at it but I was not happy with it. They made it fire speed and op lmg/smg compared to bolt actions and like, "precision" weapons being precise. They made it the opposite. Lots of nukes dropped. But this would have played better.
So this is an xbox one ps4 games given how good this game looks it proves that xbox one and ps4 have a lot more to give us is a shame that gen is slowly being discontinued Plus this game isn't being played on ps5 but on pc

As a Russian, I can say that their language sounds very creepy. The way they speak English with a pronounced, exaggerated Russian accent sounds very bad. You won't find a Russian speaking person who speaks with the same accent. And words that no one uses in everyday life are mind blowing. The game may be good in some moments, but definitely not in the voice acting.
Looks cool but I’m not a female so it would hard to relate to a female protagonist. Won’t be buying.

That's kinda weird that you mix English speaking with Russian accent (rather decent by the way!) and Russian words. It's either Russian accent, or Russian language, this middleground spoiles the tone a bit tbh.
