    This is the way that all folding tents should fold. Great space saver, even for us pickup folks. Only thing is it's really tight for 2 people. Can you keep this size as small and make a medium one available, maybe in the 28-30 inches wide folded, with the same length? This could allow for a little taller too.

    I love this concept it's not bulky and seems to be removable especially if not used in the winter time. I must get this

    I saw this video maybe over 50 times. After I bought this product I notice this video has no fold down to drive. I install this product today. And fold down took me 3 hours. It was very hard. Very very very hard. And I have the other side roof box and I can’t zipping with roof box. I am so sad I bought this product.

      @thule  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Awad, great question! We regret to inform you that you should not use Tepui Tents with any type of Clamp Style roof rack as
      the high static weight may cause damage to the roof.

    Hi. I am wondering that can fit roof tent and roof box together on the top of SUV car?

    • @thule
      @thule  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nethathai, thank you for your question! It depends on the width of the roof bars you have and also the width of the roof box. We would be happy to assist you regarding this if you reach out to us thru this link: thuleab.force.com/hc/s/contactsupport?language=en_GB
      Don´t forget to specify the country you are located in and an agent will contact you :)

    What size crossbars do you recommend to have the Tepui Foothill with a bike next to it? Would 50 inch work?

    • @thule
      @thule  ปีที่แล้ว

      The length of bar your car can take you can see in our guide in the roof rack section of thule.com. You can usually go up one size but it is not guaranteed it will fit. The tent is 61cm wide when closed so a 118cm bar or longer should be able to fit a bike next to it without any issues.

    In the uk you can be arrested for being “drunk in charge of a vehicle”, even if you are on the back seat of the vehicle or asleep anywhere or not actually even driving the vehicle and even if the ignition is off. If you are over the alcohol limit and sleeping in this rooftop tent, I suspect you could still be arrested for the same reason. Can anyone confirm the legal position for the UK.

    • @alodelore9597
      @alodelore9597 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In Germany we have a similar law, but they key has to be inserted into the starter(key hole?) for it to be illegal to be drunk. So pulling out the key and driking a bottle of wine is no problem here. Maybe it's the same for you guys.

    • @howlingbeats2544
      @howlingbeats2544 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's legal, as long as you're not driving under the influence. You could keep some single-use alcohol testers in your car while on trips with the tent. If you're not even driving the vehicle, the ignition is off, or you're a passenger, you will not be arrested.

    All nice and fun, but in reality to mount the tent it takes half a day. Plus, the instructions are useless. Plus, for the "lockable attachments" (please people, don't waste money on that shit) you need to buy 2 extra rails which are the same as the ones mounted except for 1 hole

    J'ai acheté une Thule Autana 3 il y a moins d'un mois, les tentes de toit sont "garanties à vie". Utilisée depuis trois semaines seulement, la tente perce de partout: les fermetures éclairs de l'annexe (l'eau rentre PARTOUT et présence d'une bassine d'eau au lever), la toile perce et n'est pas imperméable, certaines parties de la toile de la chambre perce également et est humide lorsqu'il pleut. J'ai payé la tente plus de 2800$ (soit plus de 10x le prix d'une tente lambda Queshua de Decathlon que j'avais acheté auparavant), je n'ai jamais rencontré de problème de fuite avec ma Decathlon en deux ans d'utilisation. J'ai contacté le service garantie de Thule qui m'a dit que c'était normal que l'annexe perce et n'était pas Waterproof au niveau des fermetures éclairs (quoi de plus normal qu'une annexe qui prend l'eau à la moindre pluie?? Surtout pour une tente de ce prix ..), le service m'a proposé d'acheter un produit imperméabilisant pour une tente de trois semaines NEUVE qui fuite de PARTOUT... Vraiment écoeurée de leur service client ... Je ne recommande pas!!!

    This probably cost up from $3,000, so you better be homeless and living out of your car to justify it. In the real camping world, you have to waste time leveling the car. You have to collapse the tent, then erect it again, every time you want to use the car. And, on the smaller, lower powered SUVs these days, it will kill your gas mileage like crazy. Very much a solution looking for a problem to solve.

    • @Raccoonactual

      They're about $1,300, and they don't take very long to setup. 7 ish minutes to setup, about 10 to take down. As long as you don't park on the side of a bank or tires up on a large rock, the suspension of the vehicle keeps everything fairly level.
      All in all it's a very nice setup for long trips out on the trails, fishing trips, etc. Of course anything you put up on the top is going to affect fuel mileage, but then again towing a pop-up or camper will too. Aerodynamics kinda work that way. I saw a 2 mpg loss at the more extreme end (interstate travel), city or back roads was neglible loss. (I drive a 2022 TRD OR 4runner, and still get 23-25 mpg interstate, 15 city)
