good tips it works for me too but in case its not working for u, especiallly if u're like me and use the plot scale to be fit to paper. just turn it off and uses 1:1 scale. and under the plot area make sure u use layout and not the window. by changing this 2 setup. u would be able to achieve as shown in the video. tq for the video btw its very helpful

Hi Audrey! These videos are always so helpful. Just wondering - do you know how to "batch edit" the layout names? I find if I'm adding a new layout and re-organizing pages, it's the biggest time suck....

Ah! This can be a tricky one. For super savvy users, there are some ways you can automate renames and such with scripts, but ultimately, for one-off renaming and organizing, just taking advantage of the double-click on the layout tabs to rename and then click and drag to reorder often works best. If you need to make a lot of layouts quickly with specific layout names using the LAYOUT or -LAYOUT command can be really helpful because then you're just doing a lot of typing for a little bit but creating and naming correctly loads of layouts quickly. (I wish there was a specific dialog box where you can rename and reorder! but I'm unaware of one at the moment. *shrugs*)

Is it possible to do the same, if you were to batch plot multiple dwg file with a layout each rather than a single dwg file with multiple layout ?
I mean batch plot -> load sheets -> select multiple dwg files ( with layouts).
Now id like to add a page setup as you did at a time to these individual dwg files.

This does not change/edit the assigned layout in the drawing. It only uses/substitutes it for the current publish/batch plot only. Do you know of a way to actually change/edit or assign a page layout to all layouts in a drawing?

Ah, yeah, so this is definitely for the pagesetup for the final output because it's utilising batchplot. This method works well when you need to bulk change a plotter, plot style, check on transparency, etc. There is a quick but not completely bulk way to apply a specific page setup in your file - where the change is in the file itself and not the output - which is basically the same step of creating a named page setup, then going to another layout, doing pagesetup, then highlighting the named page setup you just made, and clicking 'set current', this adopts all of those settings to the current layout in just a few clicks. As far as I'm aware though, you'll need do it for each layout. But with a good rhythm of click,enter,click,click,enter... it doesn't take too long. But you'll still need to adjust viewports/titleblocks and such manually. If anyone's discovered a 'set for all' button from a named pagesetup, I'm all ears. If you have full AutoCAD, there are means you can look into to try and automate tasks like this via macro actions and such - I love setting up actions to help automate in things like Photoshop - but with AutoCAD I stick with the more budget friendly version of AutoCAD LT even though it doesn't include this feature - because most of the time, it's easy to get by without those extra features.

@@audreynoakes I have good rhythm, it did not take long. I was just looking for a good batch way.. I suppose I can write a lisp program for it, if the necessary commands are not gone by now. Highly fluent programmer, I just never learned VB when AutoCAD switched.
