I'm not sure if I'm accurate with this, but it's my understanding that after the initial spawn of zombies at game start, more zombies only come from units that have died. However it's also my understanding that zombies count as these units and therefore it is essentially impossible to not get overrun the longer you play.
here's a question.. if a vampire bite a zombie will the zombie become a vampire? what if a zombie bite a vampire? if both are true, which will spread faster, zombieism or vampirism?
Zombies, because while vampires are probably far more powerful individually, they generally need living hosts to spread their undeath, vs. zombies who can generally raise any sufficiently intact corpse. They also prefer swarm tactics to overwhelm, while vampires tend to operate as individuals or in small groups.
Vampirism is blood-bourne, but zombies have no blood, as evidenced by how shooting their torsos only results in holes in the flesh, never a blood trail. Vampires could run the risk of getting infected by whatever pathogen is causing the zombification, though vampires throughout folklore have been universally immune to common disease. A zombie virus being _uncommon,_ it could prove an exception. Further testing required. I'll leave rounding up the test subjects to you. }8ㄱ)►
Both are undead. Both conditions require a living subject to spread. Neither can spread either condition to the other. If anything, the vampire is more likely to utilize its dark magic to control the zombies and turn them to its will.
I'd say do a zombie apocalypse, but... maybe not with Portugal. I'd suggest a civ that likes fast science and has good early military units in order to survive the early game. Perhaps the mid to late game will be more tolerable if you can survive the early game?
Does it only get worse? I started a huge map to try and get the transiberian railroad achievement... so I dont want to deal with this when I have 30 cities lined up in a row to defend...?
