contract time is 7:30 to 3:30. Kids are in the building 745 to 315. I have a twenty minute lunch and a 40 minute plan. I teach 6-8th and am constantly trying to keep up. I haven't had a free saturday in months. (new teacher, new school, new curriculum) barely keeping my head above water.
Contract hours are 8-4. I arrive around 7:45 and school starts at 8:20. I get a 50 minute lunch (sometimes I work through it but not always). I get 1 hour prep M-Th since we have specials. No prep on Fridays throughout the day. Oh and the kids get a 20 minute recess in the morning daily.
I work in Hawai'i, and our contract time is from 7:15am - 3:00. Kids start arriving for Before School Care, which I work, at 6:30am. Regular students arrive at 7:15am. Our classrooms have to be open to accept kids at 7:15am. The first bell rings at 7:37am and school ends at 2:30pm. We are a small school, so teachers are also required to alternate days we supervise study hall after school, so some days, we stay until 3:15am.
My contract hours are 8-4 Monday - Thursday. Students are there 8:30 -3:30. Friday we are still 8-4 but students are 8:30-1:45, because we have staff/ PD meetings 2-4 on Friday. I'm the ESL teacher so I do meet with small groups Mon-Thurs I have two preps a day right now plus my 30-minute lunch. I will probably have to go down to one prep a day as meeting all my groups is becoming a challenge. Friday's I don't meet with groups I use the whole day for data reporting, documentation and then if I have meetings come up I can schedule them then.
My contract hours are 7am-3pm. Kids arrive at 7:10 and dismissal is at 2pm. I have a 45 minute prep each day as well as a 30 minute lunch. I cover recess time two weeks straight and one week off, that’s 20 minutes long. I am the lead 4th grade teacher and I am mentoring 2 new teachers. I have learning meetings (staff meetings), PLC/PLT meetings, Guiding Coalition meetings, cross curricular meetings, data meetings, and Literacy meetings from 2pm-3pm. My only day without meetings is Monday so that is the day I plan for the next week and create slideshows and I stay late, around 5pm. It’s been working so far but I still end up taking some grading home a few times a week.
we don't have contract time. we just have to come to work.
Kids come 8:20-2:50. I can come when the bell rings, and leave the second it rings.
Do you have a video (or would you be willing to make one?) about your slideshows? That's the part that takes forever (FIVE-ever) and really, really slows down my lesson planning. When I heard you say (on Thursday?) that you did a whole week of slideshows during prep... HOW. THE. EFF. Teach me your wayyyssss!
(I have a template I use, so I'm not wasting time there. But...maybe I'm putting too much content? Or the wrong content? Or getting lost in the sauce somewhere? I'd love to see what you do! This is definitely my current top goal to tighten up!)
Yes! That’s exactly the kind of video I’m going to be working on next. It’ll be out in a few weeks!!
Hello! Contract hours can be 7:30-3 or 8-3:30. I do the early one. Kids start at 8:10-2:50 for 4th-6th. Fridays are early release where kids leave at 12:30, but we stay. I teach 6th grade, so these are upper grades times.
Loved this video! ❤
Contract time is 8:50-4:20. Kid hours are 9:05-4:05 (but dismissal usually takes right until 4:20, waiting for all of the buses to be called).
Contract 7:51-2:43 kids are there 8:01-2:38. So we have to be there 10 mins before kids and 5 mins after them. Then during the day I have a 40 min lunch, 40 min prep, and 20 min PLC every day
Fellow third grade teacher here! Love this video as I’m always trying g to find ways to get my work done during contract time. Our contract is from 7:45-2:22 (15 minutes before and after). School starts at 8:00-2:07 (Monday-Wednesday & Friday) & 8:00-1:07 (on Thursdays). A plus is that on Friday, we get to leave right after we drop of our kids so I’m usually out the door at 2:07 😂
Oooohhhh... that's a GREAT time to leave on a Friday!!!
7:15-3:15. School starts at 7:45-2:45. Students are on campus at 7:15. 60 minutes planning 3 days a week. 90 minutes of PLC one day a week. 60 minutes of collaborative planning 1 day of week. I usually stay after for an hour 2 days and sometime work on the weekends.
Contract time is 8:10-3:25 and students are with us 8:30-3:15
Our contract hours are from 7:30-3:30. Student Hours are from 8:00-3:15, we can leave as soon as busses leave. I get to school at 6:40. I eat my breakfast and prep my morning slides. I take my stuff at dismissal time and leave after my kids are on the bus. Most of the teachers leave at dismissal.
I love how most teachers leave at dismissal!!!
My contract hours are 7:30-4:00, kids are from 7:30-3:30. I go in around 6:45, we get a 50 minute prep and 37 minute lunch, I stay until 5 M-Th for tutoring.. I get paid for it!!! I’m also in middle school and have 6 actual classes of students, which I have around 170. I’m always busy!!! 😂
We don’t have a fall break until thanksgiving.;
When did you start the school year?
7:50 pick up students from playground
8:00 school officially starts
School dismisses at 3:00
So contract time 7:50-3:15
My hours are 7:00-3:00. Kids hours are 7:40-1:55, but can come into our rooms at 7:10...too early.
That is early!!!
My contract hours are 710-310. 30 min prep each day and 20 min prep in the morning except for Monday. Also we have a lunch but I feel like my team might think I’m rude if I eat in my room. But I do would rather eat in my room!!!! I live alone time and am also introverted😌
Contract time 8:20-3:50
Our contract hours are 7:25-2:30.
Student hours are 7:40-2:05
Interesting you can open your windows. We can’t for security reasons.
This is the first school I’ve been able to do that with. My old schools we didn’t even have the option!!
Hey, I am a second grade teacher and I want to get rooted in reading but I was wondering if you have any lemons write on bundle and if you think it’s worth it?
I think it’s worth it! I used both of them together!!
Contract time 7 am -2:29pm / Students 7:15 am -2:21 pm
29 and 21? 🤣
I wish I got a prep or even just a kid free lunch 😅
You don't get either!?
@@JennuineTeaching No. Small rural area. I teach in a school similar to something you’d see on Little House on the Prairie. Small with grades 1-8 in the same room. It’s fun but I don’t get anytime during the day without students.
