Savathun too had these feelings. See the Hawkmoon lore tab, where a disguised Savathun watches the Crow and the Guardian celebrating after a victory. She too asks the question “What is this feeling? I do not want it.” The lore tab ends with “What is this feeling?”, showing the Witch Queen beginning to accept the Light. Xivu is at a similar mental crossroads. The God of War has seemed nearly invincible for the past few years, but this shows a great deal of vulnerability.
Savathun has never shown these emotions, all of her interactions with Auryx are her betraying him, killing him or trying to kill him, the only time any good feelings towards Oryx are shown is in the Hawkmoon lore, perhaps she was suppressing these feelings, Xivu Arath was the only one who openly showed her love for Oryx. For Savathun feelings are weakness.

The last log...it reminds me of lore from when we saved Crow from Spider...how Savathûn sat and watched as the one that killed Uldren could get along with Crow...how Savathûn started to think back to the days before their collapse...how interesting
Damn, I did not expect Xivu Arath, the same God of War that put entire worlds to the torch like it was every Tuesday, to have so much emotional baggage.
So these fragments seem to have been spread out across the timeline of the game, apparently learning of Oryx’ death and Savathun’s Betrayal when we do, in universe and in our world 7 years apart. Given that the last fragment is Xivu’s goodbye to Oryx then seems to imply she was at his corpse very recently. Which is not the most comfortable thought
It's really nice to see hear the perspective of a Hive who is utterly disturbed by the circumstances of Oryx's death. We really just shat on Hive philosophy and culture by taking him out and moving on. I'm not saying Savathûn should have mourned her brother more in the Witch Queen. I think it's very in-character for her to keep her emotions close to her chest, and, as a skeptic, she probably forsaw Oryx going down the way he did, but she is an exception to the cultural attitude of most Hive (otherwise their society would have collapsed millennia ago). Though it would have been nice to have had more Hive characters with personality expressing outrage and doubt in reaction to Oryx's death years ago, I'm glad we have Xivu now to finally fill that gap. She's a horrible person who probably can't be negotiated with, and we probably will kill her, but it's tragic to implicitly see how young Xiro was psychologically abused by the Osmium Court's culture (I would not be surprised if Xivu's parents weren't actually great people considering that it was custom to feed the other siblings of the original Hive trio to other kingdoms as part of peace negotiations) and later by the Witness and her siblings by proxy. One does not develop such a black-and-white, linear form of dogmatic thinking without it being beat into them psychologically and/or physically. I suppose that extends to all Hive though.
The relationship between Oryx and Savathun is complicated, Savathun was the first person to kill Auryx, she betrayed him and killed him, she killed him because she considered Auryx weak for offering mercy to his enemies, she always considered that Oryx's love for his family, it would be the death of him, for Savathun things like emotions are weaknesses, this is shown in Hawkmoon's lore when she tries to reject emotions.
savathun has always been the least caring of the three , from the books of sorrow while savathun tried to kill oryx xivu gave herself gladly. When savathun start to move to the light the death of oryx only confirmed that she was doing the right thing. If oryx the taken king who followed the sword so completely could fall then the sword was not the right and only path. Xivu has always been the easiest of the three to understand while oryx contempted the final shape and existence and savathun spun traps and lies xivu committed war, endless war. which coincidently lined up with the sword logic and who was the one being entirely dedicated to it, oryx. Of course xivu is effected deeply by his death.
It literally made no sense why we we didnt become taken ruler and obtain taken darkness power now it makes sense why we still fighting hive though their leader gone serve the traveler or rule ascendant realm I pick rule ascendant realm
The thing I don't understand about Xivu, is why her dialog is all caps? Usually, thi would happen when angry or enraged or just in a heightened verbal state in general. But even whe Xivu seems to go in and out of talking normally, it's still all caps. Is there some reason for this that I may be mising?
Can all we take a second to appreciate xivus voice actor. She gives so much depth to the character as you can tell she's the erratic one out of the three. Can't wait to have her as a expansion lead and not as a boss in the final shape because she deserves that. The amount of lore she can give when she's front in centre will be fantastic
Oryx the Eldest sibling lead the way for their siblings. Savathun the Middle sibling the most cunning staying out of the Eldest’s shadow. Xivu Arath the Youngest most aggressive/active child looking up to both her siblings. Yep in Hive culture the sibling hierarchy remains the same as humans 😂
I love how Xivu is deranged for more reasons than being a god of war. The fall of Oryx's dynasty and Savathûn's turn to the light completely annihilated her and the Hive's view of the world. I wonder what it will be like when she learns the truth that the her and her entire species survival was founded upon a lie and that she's a disposable pawn. I honestly think if the story is going the way I think it could go, we eventually revive savathun as an ally, and have her converse with xivu about joining our side against the witness. Idk if it could help in the coming battles in the story but it sounds like it could happen.
To me, it sounds like her last log was herself trying to re-affirm that Oryx is indeed dead, but that she cannot accept it. Hence, we have the dungeon where she is attempting to bring back Oryx through the help of defected Lucent Hive.
I doubt she would want the lucent hives help as necromancy is very heretical to the hive because of sword logic I think immaru was the reason the lucent hive tried to rez oryx
Savathun is my favorite between the 3 siblings because she *almost took away the light* unlike oryx and xivu who follow the sword logic. Savathun made us taste our own medicine, and almost brought our own end using our hands. We’ve seen many tried to take the light or destroy it by force, by war, by combat. Xivu’s and oryx’s methods are clear in doing so, but savathun’s was just… wow.
And our Guardian is listening to it like "Okay...nobody tell her I did it. Or that I killed her sister too....I'm gonna have to kill her too aren't I? I'm just out here killing whole families now."
Season of the Deep is what I’ve been waiting for. Everything since TTK has felt like filler until we got Witch Queen. The hive and the Books of Sorrow and the Osmium dynasty have always been Destiny’s strongest plot and I’m so glad they’re leaning into it.
Jesus, Xivu really loved her brother. It is so fascinating to taser the parallels between her love towards her family and then Savathuns, even with Oryx when we past tensed Crota. And on a more joking side you could say she’s got some brother complex, I mean she talks a lot about him, and very, very, passionately aswell, Xivu susrath:)
Interesting they try to revive oryx with hive necromancy and the light don't know that would have worked also who commissioned this ritual was it Xivu or was it savathun ghost?
Seeing as it was the lucent hive that tried to go in and resurrect him it seems it would be a ploy from savathun's ghost. I don't think Xivu would go for her brother being revived in the light.
To everyone wondering why savathun isnt so...this about his death.... They were all sisters and all individuals...Savathun was cunning and a thinker and planner. She wanted to be a mother and care but she seems distant yet empathetic. She is more reserved Oryx was a leader and held passion tempered by ideology. He beleived in what he was doing and navigated the waters of want and wisdom. He has examples of fiery passion and contemplation. He was the balance between the sisters Xivu...she seems the most passionate. The way she screams and talks, even in books of sorrow she was headstrong. She is the sister that wears her emotions on her sleeve. Oryx death seems to have struck her closest and as the most passionate she feels completely alone with savathuns betrayal of the sword logic Savathun feels deeply but is able to move past those feelings with cunning logic and introspection. Xivu seems to just feel things and impulsivly reacts Its actually heartbreaking
The story of the Hive is almost tragic now that we've learned of the immense betrayal of their Witness. The Witness is seemingly a being of pure, raw and tangible wrath that's hell bent on revenge, literally anyone else in it's path be damned. It twisted these species and created a cosmic genocidal machine, and to think that had the traveler got them first, they'd be saviors instead of these harbingers of Annihilation
"Devotion inspires bravery. Bravery inspires sacrifice. Sacrifice... leads to death." - the Speaker to Dominus Ghaul Funny how those words have been proven true by the supplicants of the Deep and the Sky alike at different times. We Guardians, Ghaul, Mara Sov, Savathun, Mithrax, Xivu Arath, Caiatl, Oryx, Eramis, even the Witness and the Traveler themselves - all are/were devoted to something (an idea or a person or both), all made brave sacrifices in service of that something, and all experienced death, whether by causing it for others, watching it happen around them, or by undergoing it themselves. Regardless of how different all those beings' worldviews are or how bitter their animosity and hatred for the some of the others are, they are all united by the common trait summed up in the Speaker's words. I find it fascinating that this idea transcends the entire conflict between the Light and the Darkness, the great Game between the Gardener and the Winnower to see who's version of the universe is better. As we're now deep into the penultimate chapter of the Light & Dark saga, it's so cool to see the broad-stroke narrative threads beginning to tie together full circle, the actual quality of delivery of some of which notwithstanding (*cough* Lightfall campaign *cough*).
huh, at the end there it sounded to me that if she learns the truth, and gets to have another journey with her sisters, she's totally okay with believing in that truth even when it grieves her. so under these conditions she indeed can end up on our side if we and Savathun manage to convince her and Oryx. just imagine having all 3 hive gods with us against the witness.
I think that Xivu is at war with her two personalities. Her worm is driving her crazy. She feels betrayed, alone, and scared after everything. Still makes me wonder why she says we haven’t assumed the title of the taken king? Oryx isn’t really dead, he’s the touch of malice so we can’t.

"What is this feeling, i do not want it." savathün said the same thing on hawkmoon lore
Apparently we can assume the mantle of taken king... My theory though is that drifter will become taken king
He does have the ability to conjure up Takenxx
@@sokudoakuma3803 yeah and I feel he wants to be able to "take" the emissary of the 9 because that's his lover
its either sorrow, or doubt. both and either could be the war gods undoing.
The part when Xivu say she'd never deny a truth is going to be interesting based on what we learn at the end of the WQ campaign
Xivu sounds amazing! GIving me Arkham Asylum Scarecrow vibes!
Which is made even better by the fact she's voiced by Kimberly Brooks who played Oracle in Arkham Asylum.
And our Guardian is listening to it like "Okay...nobody tell her I did it. Or that I killed her sister too....I'm gonna have to kill her too aren't I? I'm just out here killing whole families now."
I mean we prob offed off entire eliksni fams testing our exotics in the edz
@@bitchboiz6561😂😂damn it I never thought of it that way till now lol
"WHAT IS THIS FEELING? I DO NOT WANT IT." SHITT What Lore Tab is that from again?!
Shawty tweakin
Literally the five stages of grief
Grrrrreeeeeeaaaaaat!! So then we've just pushed a WAR GODDESS into a full on psychotic episode ... ... Hooray!
So, she's just a brothercon.
I LOVE HER VOICE ACTING
Every time she asks what is this feeling, I expect her to break into Loathing from Wicked
I love these videos keep up the good work
I SEE THE FINAL SHAPE COMING FOR THEIR WALLET
Interesting they try to revive oryx with hive necromancy and the light don't know that would have worked also who commissioned this ritual was it Xivu or was it savathun ghost?
Seeing as it was the lucent hive that tried to go in and resurrect him it seems it would be a ploy from savathun's ghost. I don't think Xivu would go for her brother being revived in the light.
Necromancy is also frowned upon
Savathun also said "what is this feeling? I don't want it" before turning get back from the deep
Poor xivu
Wonder how she’s going to feel about being turned into a sword
To everyone wondering why savathun isnt so...this about his death....
They were all sisters and all individuals...Savathun was cunning and a thinker and planner. She wanted to be a mother and care but she seems distant yet empathetic. She is more reserved
Oryx was a leader and held passion tempered by ideology. He beleived in what he was doing and navigated the waters of want and wisdom. He has examples of fiery passion and contemplation. He was the balance between the sisters
Xivu...she seems the most passionate. The way she screams and talks, even in books of sorrow she was headstrong. She is the sister that wears her emotions on her sleeve. Oryx death seems to have struck her closest and as the most passionate she feels completely alone with savathuns betrayal of the sword logic
Savathun feels deeply but is able to move past those feelings with cunning logic and introspection. Xivu seems to just feel things and impulsivly reacts
Its actually heartbreaking
The last audio log with the "Never deny the truth" thing makes me wonder, how would she react once she finds out that the hive were tricked?
Interesting she is upset that oryx died but also upset that we didn't take over the mantle of taken king
wríñg
Somthing tells me that when we fight her it’s gonna be harder than orix or savathun xivu sounds like a absolute mad lad
Sacrifice... leads to death." - the Speaker to Dominus Ghaul
Funny how those words have been proven true by the supplicants of the Deep and the Sky alike at different times.
Bungie, can we please get some kind of animated spin-off series about the Hive and the Books of Sorrow?!
well written/voiced..
makes for quite an interesting character..
🃏
Funny how Savathun reaction to you killing oryx is like “What ever!” But Xivu Arath griefs
The flesh garden sounds like the most hardcore band
"Flesh garden" is crazy
Xivu arath shows emotional to Oryx
huh, at the end there it sounded to me that if she learns the truth, and gets to have another journey with her sisters, she's totally okay with believing in that truth even when it grieves her. so under these conditions she indeed can end up on our side if we and Savathun manage to convince her and Oryx. just imagine having all 3 hive gods with us against the witness.
Ok we get it Xivu
I think that Xivu is at war with her two personalities. Her worm is driving her crazy. She feels betrayed, alone, and scared after everything. Still makes me wonder why she says we haven’t assumed the title of the taken king? Oryx isn’t really dead, he’s the touch of malice so we can’t.
Yo, @Evaze, I have no clue if you read these comments, but if you would consider making a video discussing the lore of the “Weir-Walker” armor set, I’d really appreciate it. The lore on it is like going through an acid trip or something… please help us all make sense of it! Lol
Xivu seems to be the most emotional out of the 3 siblings by a considerable amount
Damn someone needs to show her how to turn off caps lock.
It sounds like in the final shape our last sub class will be taken themed! I’m on bored for this! I love this games lore and the story of destiny is better than any other game I’ve ever played!
Crazy how the hive are capable of love and care for their own
Lore for this dungeon is amazing
I can’t wait for Xivu to get her own Dlc
My guess, War God
Can't wait to turn her into a pair of boots for what she did to My boi Rasputín.
a pasion drive her deep.. in to madness.. and we will make her... rest.. for good..
In other words, she is basically Lorgar from 40K.
This olvoice acting ist insane. Pure sorrow
]]] Militant nostalgia. [[[
Xivu is not finding Oryx’s death poggers
Not poggers indeed
So thats why shes always yelling. Shes gone berserk and its not going to stop until she claps everyone she gets her hands on.
I mean she could clap me ngl
Oryx being trans was my favorite plot twist.
There was such a high bar to clear for Xivu Arath for her introduction and after how Bungie nailed Savathun but bombed Lightfall, it was hard to believe they could land this, but they did.
Wow the voice actor is excellent
I like how Xivu seems to doubt the sword logic, perhaps she as the god of war will recognize the power of the guardians
Now I get some yandere brother complex, some “ONII CHAAAAAAN” vibes from Xivu.
Sounds like Xivu could become the latest disciple of the Witness...
is she not already?
