    Thanks for share. Obs.: This is a Pentacon lens. Revuenon is a german rebrand.

    The only thing I would say as a constructve criticism is the video actually would be 10x more helpful if you (a) slowed down to normal speed (b) explained what yo uwere doing in words (c) lost the music! Apart from that - really helpful.

      True, sorry. But in TH-cam you can reduce the playback speed.

    Thanks for the vid, I was wondering if I have to disassemble rear lens element to get to aperture blades - I didn't and I do not recommend it unless you have some terrible dirt between lenses (almost never happens). I also recommend to unscrew the 3 screws holding the disc with aperture blades and clean every leaf separately (very careful! they are much worse and weaker than i.e. Nikkor's) and reassemble - be very careful when you insert it back so that you may spend an hour less assembling leaves back again. Cheers!

    I just brought a lens back from stuck-oily-blade hell thanks to this video. Admittedly, I didn't do as good a job as Bopp Leng, and it took me about 2 1/2 hours (it was my first attempt at saving a lens), but at least my lens works now. I may revisit it later to get the rest of the gunk off, but right now I'm exhausted.

    How to fix Pentacon lens that unscrews and separates after turning focus?

  • @Beery1962
    @Beery1962 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is there a way, with this lens, to get the whole aperture blade assembly out so I can put it into an ultrasonic bath? I'm not yet confident enough to remove all the aperture blades, and then clean and reassemble them, so I was hoping the assembly might be removable as a self-contained unit as with Rokkor lenses.

    Hi, I have the exact same lens. I noticed that one leaf of the shutter doesn't close very well and makes the aperture asymmetrical.
    By opening the lens do you think there is any way to fix it or is it better to change the lens directly? Given the insignificant cost, is it feasible to try it on my own or is it better to rely on an expert in any case (if yes, do you know how much such a repair may cost)?
    Thank you very much!

    • @ML24DEU
      @ML24DEU  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I'm not sure about your skills and the condition of the aperture blades.
      If it is free of oil try a couple of times rapidly and see if it recovers.
      Otherwise if the asymmetric is not too obvious - I would not worry if it opens and close the different apertures feasible logically.
      Otherwise take it apart clean it and put the aperture blades back - it is a kind of difficult and time consuming... Take pictures before and during taking it apart...
      Thank you for watching!

      @@ML24DEU Hi, thank you very much for your reply, I have already tried to open and close it quickly but the situation is not resolved. My skills are bad (never opened a lens) but it must be said that I paid almost zero for the lens.
      The asymmetry is quite noticeable, so much so that it is noticeable on the various flares.
      I'm going to try to open it up and hope I don't do any damage.
      Thank you very much!

    What's the easiest way to get the front part of? I don't have that green thingy... what do you guys use?

    I wonder if you can fix the faded coating? Or only heavy industry can do it. Involve high tech treatment? It looks just like pentacon lens. Maybe they shared the sampe manufacture?

    I'm about to dissassemble my £5 pentacon lens with slow/stuck aperture blades. I don't really want to take aperture blades apart unless I have to - so can I try this cleaning operation with the cotton buds and alcohol (I don't have brake cleaner!) ??

    • @ML24DEU
      @ML24DEU  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long you remove all glass element - yes. Not sure if alcohol works.
      Good luck.

    • @wreford07
      @wreford07 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ML24DEU yes. it did work! cotton bud put alcohol on blades then manually opened and closed a few times. it got stiffer at first (the alchohol liquid increased friction on blades until it evaporated) - but then after a 2nd application of alchohol and moving iris blades with lever - WORKS PERFECTLY!

    The shutter leaves have to be removed and cleaned one by one if you want to call it a refurbish/cleaning. The oil will come back shortly, after cleaning the leaves like this

      Hi, you need to have the right size of a solid rubber cylinder. See Mike's videos: th-cam.com/video/dlmSetNjU8M/w-d-xo.html
      Good luck.

    I really dont't know how to reasamble it. Under the rear plate there were little steel balls. Can you tell me where shoud i put them ? Aperture ring works without resistance
    now.

    I have one where there seems to be sand inbetween the threads. I can't set the focus beyond 0.4m so I'll have to take the mech apart. Seems like the part I have t take apart is the front? Whatis he using to tak off the front part? A rubber?
