Let's hope they don't fuck up the update of the Desert Sled in half a year or so. The new exhaust routing is nice. I preferred the old headlight. Also don't like the plastic tank cover and the like, looks a bit cheap. But seems like one can just take that off. I was a fan of the side mounted rear shock, but especially on the Desert Sled it got in the way when standing up. Likely they'll fix that. Unfortunately 13,5l for the tank on a Desert Sled is a bit weak, but they will very likely use the same tank as the other models again. The display honestly looks absolutely horrendous, could've integrated that nicer. The graphics on the display are fine, just the physical form of the display looks stupid. I quite liked the old round off center two-color LCD. Unfortunately the service integral couldn't be increased like on the latest Multistradas, 12.000 km is very weak compared to the 30.000 km the Multistradas get, and they are much higher strung motors. Let's be real, having the Desmodromic valve system on a bike that revs to 10.000 rpm is frankly ridiculous. Let's see what they'll be doing with the Desert Sled, but I'll probably be buying the current model, not this new one, whenever it might come out.

I love the scrambler, but iv been hesitant to buy one because i live in the middle east, in kuwait, and air cooled is not great for this environment. I wish youd make a liquid or water cooled engine for the scrambler. I would have already bought one if it was liquid/water cooled.. this was the major change i was waiting for, for the refresh or next gen models. Please make it liquid cooled soon. Have you done testing of the ducati scrambler in the middle of August in dubai? Have you ran the scambler in the dakkar rally? Can it withstand these temperatures? 40 degrees Celsius! Will it last long for years with regular servicing or will it break down?
I rode a 2015 full throttle in Dubai for years. Never had a problem with it overheating at all. I rode all year inc through the the summer months in 50 Degree plus heat. Bike never missed a beat and was so much fun to ride.
Agreed. Glad I got my 2020 cafe racer version in silver and blue, looks better than these, imo. Plus, the fact the have not done a cafe racer for 2023, makes mine good for residual sale value.
It seems to me that if you still want the original Neo-Retro look now, a buyer should go to the new Guzzi V7. But if you want a more modern bike the latest tech and the Neo-Retro look and you don’t mind all the tech and plastic - the new Scrambler is a better option. Nostalgia vs Next-Gen, the choice is yours.
The v7 is less powerful and much heavier, has less tech safety. The older gen Scrambler was better. The new one... they forced the modernization to appeal to kids

Sono riusciti nell'impresa difficile di imbruttire la Scrambler a 360°, serbatoio, fianchetti radiatore olio, coperchi tubo di scarico, cerchi... Ma lasciando il motore coi suoi limiti immutati. Io mi tengo la mia vecchia tutta la vita. Che però devo dire che alla lunga tra le curve annoia, perché gli manca spinta e grinta, e questo qui non sarà molto diverso, piu fluido, punto. Se voglio una modern classic "next gen style" ma con invece un motore da paura, tutta la vita la Yamaha Xrs 900 col suo Cp3 da 115 cavalli.

@@AngelSapundzhiev yes, but the desert sled was meant for some easy off road and or Gravel and enough comfort on road. More than enough for someone who wants to do road and just sometimes easy off-road. Also the Desert sled cost 5k less than the desert X and it is roughly 10 kg lighter.

DS was a nice blend of offroad joy and urban commuting. The new Scrambler and the DesertX are not that, so I can see a huge gap there, in performance, design and of course, price.

There were older Ducati bikes called "Scrambler", true, but those were from before a time when manufacturers had figured out dirtbikes. Scrambler as a sub brand of Ducati is as old as 2015. Its meant to be trendy, stylish, low cost (for a Ducati) bikes designed to attract younger riders.

There is a Desert X now, which is a more capable bike than the Desert Sled and I believe it fills that gap nicely.
