- Hi there railfans.
Todays video has some different trains that you have not seen on this channel before.
Lets start off in Alaska at the Anchorage depot of the Alaska Railroad.
Here you see 3 nice EMD SD70MAC's picking up some cars from the factory plant.
Then we are moving south to Texas where you will see a TEXRail train arriving at Forth Worth station.
These trains are diesel DMU's, with the diesel generators located in the middle car, and run between DFW int airport and the Forth Worth T&P station.
The DMU's are built by the Swiss company Stadler and the units are FLIRT units. So to make things easy the DMU's are called "Stadler FLIRT".
I like the fact that the diesel units that provide the electric traction motors with power are in a central engine car. There is a passenger corridor through the engine car to get from one end of the train to the other end. You can see a full electric version of this type that I filmed in Germany in this video,

To finish up the video there is another company, TRE, Trinity Railway Express. This train runs between Dalles downtown Union station and Forth Worth downtown T&P station.
The engine on this train is an EMD F59PH and was overhauled in 2010.
The Amtrak train you see in the background is the Heartland Flyer that runs between Oklahoma City and Forth Worth. The engine on this train, #147, is a GE P42DC.
That was it for today. Something different and hopefully to your likings.
Thanks again for watching and see you back soon.
Have an awesome rest of your day.
PS. If you like to see that Alaska train in full length please check out @FreightTrainsUncut , it will show up soon if not already there.
You brightened my day again, keep up the great work Rene!
