- The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William visits his great-grandmother Princess Alice of Battenberg's tomb at the Church of Mary Magdalene on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem during his visit to Israel. Report by Simon Anderson.

She was truly remarkable to have survived and thrived through all she'd been through. And deaf from birth on top of it!

After prince Philip stripped Diana's roles in the royal family even though queen Elizabeth wanted Diana to keep them. William said to her "don't worry mummy I will give them back to you when I am king one day."

Princess Alice was what Orthodox call a “Fool for Christ’s Sake” meaning she transcended conventional behavior in order to serve God and do good. Love her !
She was a mystic.
Some of the other women in her family were deeply religious in the same sort of way. Her aunt the Grand Duchess Elizabeth also devoted herself to the service of God in her later life.
It is sad that her mystical experience was misconstrued as psychosis in a time when few knew about mysticism.
Prince William visiting his great-grandmother Princess Alice of Battenberg's tomb was with done with such respect bringing very special flowers. Her true life story has touched so many of us in the world now. She was a remarkable Royal woman. Thank you for sharing this moment.

It would have been nice if they had given him more privacy to pay homage to his Great Grandmother. But what a lovely tribute, she has now had her son, grandson, and great grandson visit her.

It’s a little sad that he can’t be allowed to be alone with his thoughts with his great grandmothers burial place. Hope he was allowed to.
I thought the same. Most people can sit in peace and contemplate in a public space. Even though he has so many advantages and opportunities, this is one thing most of us have that he does not. I'm sure there are times when he wishes he could have it too.
I don't think I could handle the spectacle of having an entourage following me around for such a private moment. I suppose it takes a special kind of person.

She was never born into that family, she herself has never been a British royal, The fact that we call her princess is because of the fact that she is a German princess by birth and a Greek princess by marriage.

There is Olga Federovina, Alice's aunt and granddaughter of Queen Victoria, buried next to herein that chapel.She was Alice''s role model. Olga was killed by the Bolsheviks.I would say she was the best royal ever,better than Alice.

Princess Alice was a phenomenal lady. She deserves way more recognition than she gets and her charity and piousness is something special to be highly commended. She really ought to be considered for sainthood. She deserves it more than mother thereasa IMHO

Her sister Louise was to become Queen of Sweeden and Her brother Louis Mountbatten was the last Vice-roy of India. She had another brother, George who became the second marquess of Milford-Haven. Her father died in 1921 and Her mother Victoria, born Princess of Hesse Darmstadt died in 1950 at Kensington Palace. She was Prince Philipp's grand-mother. Princess Alice was a very interesting character.

The Holy Sepelchur which the priest mentioned ,was one of two places which is considered the site ,where Our Lord was crucified, and then laid in a tomb. The other is the Garden Tomb ! Close by the Old City , Damascus Gate ! Absolutely everyone I know, who has been to both ,says it’s definitely the Garden Tomb where it happened. The spirit is so strong there. The most Holy spot on this Earth !
The Garden Tomb is a fake location made up by some random American evangelical. It’s never ever been considered the burial spot of Christ until the last 60 years and only by fringe evangelicals. For all of 2000 years of Church History the Holy Sepulchre has always been known to be the true location of the tomb of Christ.

Semsem Eini Before she was buried at St. George's Chapel Windsor but in 1988 her remains transfer to this Jerusalem church as her wish. So I think this is a casket contain of Princess Alice corpse.
