As kid watching this VHS tape opening. I always wanted to see the Thief and the Cobbler that was way before I knew about its production problems and studio interference. Also, how it's an unfinished animated movie. Back in high school I remember watching Nostalgia Critic review. At some point might want to watch it for curiosity.
Fun fact about this movie: the Walt Disney Home Video appears 3 times in the same tape. The first time after the FBI screens (with a Blue Blackground), the format screen (after the previews and FP logo), AND at the very end of the movie after the credits roll. You really don’t see this logo at the very end every day! When the movie was on Netflix so many years ago, they did retain the WDHV logo before and after the movie like here. I believe they did unfortunately replace the logos on Disney+, if anybody can confirm this as I don’t have the service at the moment.
Another fun fact: This film was originally gonna be released theatrically in 1996, but became DTV due to the success of their animated DTV films (making it Disney’s first live action DTV film). But, switching the film from a theatrical to a DTV film cause a substantial cut in the production budget.

Actually the Thief and the Cobbler started production in the 1964 -28 years before Aladdin Came out! There were a ton of production issues and the movie took nearly 30 years to get released to theaters, after much studio meddling.
