MT09sp is such a great bike. I've spent a ton on my first generation model (2016) for track riding and can't justify an upgrade to the 3rd generation quite yet, but I think sometime in the next year I may upgrade to a 2023 09. Probably will go with base model in all black and do Ohlins carts up front and ohlins shock since I use my current bike at the track a lot. Wish they would've put ohlins cartridge kit up front on the sp but it still comes with a great suspension package no doubt. Welcome to the CP3 fam! You'll be hard pressed to find a bike as fun as the 09.
Such great bikes hey ! I wanted the base model cause I love all black bikes, got a really good deal on the mt09sp How you find it on the track ? I’m going to take mine to the track one day, when the weather gets warmer here . Bloody freezing right now haha
@@Rickontwowheels so hard to beat the all black! My track suit and gear is all black too 😂. Definitely get your suspension dialed in for your weight, will help with making that bike feel super planted. It’s spectacular on the track, an absolute weapon out there. You’ll freaking love it once you get time to get on the track. Shit even an MT07 is a riot on the track (needs some tweaks of course like suspension etc)
Yeah you really can’t hey , once it gets hotter here definitely taking it to the track . Getting the suspension done when I take the bike for it’s first service next week 👌
Get yourself some sintered brake pads on the MT09 (like the EBC sintered HH) - will give the brakes a bunch more initial bite. I've done pads, braided lines and master cylinder and the feel is unreal! Also a good setup and a steering damper will make the bike hold a line more confidently and make sure to get a tune to smoothen the throttle out (by disabling decel cut) and removing the speed limiter!
@Rickontwowheels Its 100% worth it! I was surprised at how much each mod improved the bike (particularly the steering damper). I am currently waiting for suspension upgrades (going between Nitron and K-Tech) in the coming weeks and hopefully that will be it for mods (aside from maybe carbon wheels/ gp4 calipers in the next few years). For master cylinder I'd reccomend a Galespeed VRE or VRC over a Brembo RCS/ Costacorsa in either 16mm or 17.5mm (don't go 19mm, the volume displacement of the master-cylinder's piston is too big for the standard calipers piston surface area and you'll end up with less power and wooden or 'on/ off' feel).
Looking at this list of things to do to correct the bike makes me feel better with picking a gen2 bmw s1000r over the Mt09 sp. As it has braided lines and brembo brakes. And a streering damper stock. So buy and ride sort of deal
Kept my gen 1 MT-07 since 2016 when i first bought it after passing my test. I am planning to upgrade to the new 2024 MT-09 SP. I really like the look of the next generation MT-09 SP. I will be looking to sell my MT-07 sometime in 2024. Time for a new beginning.
@@Rickontwowheels The 1st gen was fugly, they killed it on 2nd gen and back to fugly 3rd gen. I hope they'll suprise us, in a good way for the 4th gen.
Welcome to the #mt09 gang love mine done 17k miles and 7 country so far but I.might be changing mine next year not 100% sure
Nice video. I have an mt 07 as well since dezember 22. done 5k km on it and thinking about upgrading it to the mt 09.

Couldn't agree more! The 09 so easy to flick around hey
It's a nice bike, bro. I've been looking at these a lot lately, but very torn between the r1 😅 a lot of tech standard, which is good. New sub
Love both of them, I’ve always wanted the r1 so i grabbed. Thank you for the sub, welcome

Good choice! The new mt09sp has some goodies, you’ll love it coming from the 07. The 09 is such a fun bike
Its such a good allround bike, but why did they have to make it so fugly... compared to 2nd gen.
I do like the gen 2 better for looks

So good bro 👌 what you end up selling ya mt07 for price wise if you don’t mind me asking I’ll prob be doing the exact same thing soon lol
Thank bro 🙏 got just under 11k for mine
bike had 13kms on it. The mt09 is amazing man you’ll love it
