Quick tip for the kitties!! With my experiance in semi feral or feral kitties, the most important thing you can do for them is make a "recall". Basically whenever you are going to feed them, make a certain sound (I just use "here kitty kitty kitty!") so that when they are released, you can easily call them or let them know you have food! Also makes peace of mind knowing that in a dangerous situation you can get them to you quick! The longer you do it, the faster they get!!
This. We take care of some feral cats in my locality and one other thing that also works with them is a consistent time. I don't know how they all arrive at the exact time when we usually feed them
The feral cats watch through the glass door in the sunroom out to the handicaps metal ramp. I toss food on the ramp. I go from 2-3 to a least 10. They look like a herd running across the yards
goodness DaNelle!! you have aged beautifully. the grays make you look stunning. i have watched this channel for years and you just keep getting prettier with age 🫶
I think it'd be a good idea to move where it's cooler. The goats will love the forest and all the pine needles and leaves they can eat. The birds will have plenty to scratch around and eat as well
I think Michigan would be pretty great. My goats absolutely love the pine trees & more natural land. We have some amazing ADGA shows & amazing supportive breeders here. I think yall would really like it
Any 'human tips' apart from animal knowledge? These guys are seasoned stock protectors, breeders and a lot more besides! Perhaps, watch their channel from way back when and then their latest to gauge the development of ALL involved!! Have a great weekend!
I think moving up to the cottage would be a great idea. Now that your kids have moved out for college you won't need as much space as you used to, and you'd be closer to family, not to mention the cooler weather. It also seems like you guys still have tons of land to work with up there for your goats, dogs, and kitties. Also, it's such a cozy and nice space, I'd love to live there.
Hi I have been watching for six years, well I haven’t for about three or so till now, but I can’t believe how much has changed! Hoping for a great future for this channel and will definitely continue to follow along. Love your videos
KENTUCKY IS THE BEST PLACE FOR GOATs. I have watched your channel since the 6th grade and have always said this lady needs a farm! One time in class I was on my phone watching your TH-cam videos my teacher yelled at me and asked me what was so important and that I needed to share it with the class so my entire class watched one of your TH-cam videos. That’s probably the only thing from school I remember.😂.
Finally letting go of coloring/touching up all the grays has been not a small part of my journey toward a freer, simpler life. Since you're the entrepreneur of the online chronicles of your family's homestead/dairy goat journey, you absolutely have the right to make that choice, whenever that time is right.
When I stopped coloring my hair a year ago, I began to have quite a bit of new hair growth. For the transition I used purple shampoo and conditioner, it cuts down on the remnant dye from becoming orange, brassy and weird until your natural hair color comes back in.
Yes i think y'all would have a better place and land for your goats. Kevin as an engineer can fix everything just like you want and the kids would love to visit. Plus out there you're not in a residential neighborhood like you are now so your loud goats won't be a nuisance 😂. Consider that prospect and explore the environment up there especially with Kevin's expertise and do what's best for your farm life. Cooler, more outdoorsy and space to expand outdoors you can study that next year. Full impact study of land vs work and Kevin can look for more junk to make that happen 😂. Ingenuity, you got a good one Danelle. Blessings ❤
I’m currently pregnant and due in February! I can’t wait to have my baby and be enjoying all the kidding videos! They are definitely going to make the nighttime nursing a lot more manageable! I can’t wait 🥰( I’m in the uk and you tend to upload in the evening over here so it will work perfectly for me!)
15:35 make sure those doors stay closed and locked until you’re confident to let them work. Cats are are quick and strong. Make sure you’re changing up the high value treats cats get bored. Dreamies or chewy sticks are a good choice.
I'm glad that you put this song back on your videos, it's one of my favorite songs to hear & the other two songs are also my favorite songs, from that same album. It's bcuz you used to play these songs from your previous videos, that made me look them up. Thank You for such a sweet & beautiful soundtrack for your videos!
You guys are such sweet people. Thank you for letting us live vicariously through you and your sweet farm! I love every Friday to see what’s going on at the farm! Whenever I hear the name Arizona, you guys are the first thing I think about…if you ever need anything in Oklahoma just let me know!! DaNelle (I’m sorry if I did not spell your name right!) I love your hair!! I’m going gray myself and it takes time to get use to it!!! 😊
If I may say, do not let those kitty's out till they become more comfortable with the surroundings and sound of the farm. They aren't adjusted if they just hide in their house. Wait till they will cone out and sit and watch for most of the day, or you may loose them. They'll be too scared of things and just run. It may take a few months but it will be worth it. And try to socialize them. They can tell if your afraid of them so don't be.
Busy busy busy!! Give your kitties a chance to get to know you. And do work with them like you do with the kitten. Just because they are working cats you don't have to be distant from them. Just show them love and kindness. (Which I know you do.) They can come to love you too. Just like the Goats. The cabin is looking wonderful guys👍🏼👍🏼 🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂
I would say if you like the idea I'd go and visit the area your thinking of moving to. Stay for a bit if you can. If your looking at a place with snow, make a million times over that there is very good drainage.
12:25 You: putting cat food into the drawer that you keep in the same enclosure as your semi-feral cats... Me: reliving every single time my cats have opened drawers in creative ways in order to access treats.
Your hair will be absolutely gorgeous when it all grows out. I started going white in my twenties and finally stopped coloring it when I was in my late thirties. People would ask me who did my frosting. I just hold them Mother Nature!!!!
Maybe try to close up the cat enclosure walls on two adjacent sides up until chest height with wooden boards (or something similar, but non-see through)? Or move it to a position where a solid wall is at least on one side. Our cats always preferred to come out when keeping out of reach of new things with a wall at their back was an option, so they could focus without possible interference from behind them.
Hi Danielle, I hope all your goats have lots of babies. Where are your outdoor kitties you got to get the rats. Maybe I missed a video. Oh speaking of that, there they are. Back to the cottage. Love what you’ve done. ❤️👍. Never doubt Kevin🤣👍. The front looks great❤️👍
The cottage looks absolutely amazing inside and out. DaNelle don't worry about the white or gray hairs. I started getting gray hair when I was in my early 20s and I am 78 now and my hair is pure white. I look forward to seeing more "kids" soon. I admire you all for living in the Phoenix area and having your one-acre farm plus dealing the the intense heat. For getting drawers open and closing I use plain candle wax which also works. 😀
Talk to the kittens when you are feeding them. I agree with establishing a call to food. Your son is right about crushing the food up but you can flip the can over and use it to just break it up a bit. I feed my feral cats and they are starting to let me pick them up. They all enjoy being pet. The longer you keep them contained the better.
I think Michigan would be pretty great. My goats absolutely love the pine trees & more natural forest land. We have some amazing ADGA shows & amazing supportive breeders here. I think yall would really like it. And of course the Great Lakes are a huge benefit. There are so many great things here in Michigan.

The goafs will love it. The cabin is looking great and the outside i love it. Im so happy that Reba is pregnant. Well habe a good weekend and blessings from Michigan ❤
Don't give up on kitties. We brought home some barn cats that were already adults. One had never been touched. She still don't let me hold her but she loves to be pet.(8 mths later) it also took her a while to understand to meow when she wanted something instead of just hiss!

I am in Indiana. I agree with Michigan or even Indiana. Both are really good states for the farm life while getting those seasons.

As a Michigan under I agree with this just make sure that you get a good property and read the ordinances there's a lot power hungry township people.
Arizona is the most beautiful State to live in. Born & raised in AZ & I'm still here. Loving every day! ❤❤❤
Best of luck no matter your decision
Colorado would love to have you, but it is so expensive. Also, your channel is a comfort in this crazy world. Thanks for posting today.
I used to live in Colorado ( Born and raised. ) and yes it has gotten VERY expensive to live there.😢
same in Nebraska but like you guys were getting expensive too
New Mexico is crazy expensive too. This is home but can't afford to live here.
After being in Phoenix and moving northern (Dewey), it was a great decision. I wouldn't enjoy raising goats in Phoenix as much as up here.
Oh my gosh, a few years ago we almost bought some property in Dewey -- it's so pretty there!
