Mucker A Dog is not just a dog each and everyone of them have their own caricature that sets them apart. all of our dogs that we have lost are immortalised in art that we hang proudly on our farm walls. big up to you for what you're doing for the collies. stay strong my friend.
Anyone who doesn't LOVE dogs I do NOT trust. You and Caroline have huge hearts and have given a creature who suffered a long time to have a good period and a happy period.
Having adopted a discarded hunting dog from Spain myself, I can relate so much to your feelings, Kurt. They are so grateful for our love and give so much back to us 😢 Thank you for the good memories about Bailey and for opening your feelings to us, which is not always obvious in this world. 🐕🍀❤️
You've just ensured that Bailey won't be forgotten, he'll always be some where on the internet. It was obviously a hard tribute to film, so thank you, Caroline and the vets for giving Bailey a chance to feel some affection and love in his final year. God bless you.
My condolences for Bailey I know he was a good boy. Lady Dougster and I rescued a Red Heeler named PATCH a number of years ago he had a rough life before we got him. You could tell. Someone was terrible to him in his past. But after a while, he came around to us. And was quite the happy dog. He loved his "Gramdma" (Lady Dougsters Mom) and us too. He was a ball fetching machine. He loved it. Couldn't get enough. One day we're playing fetch with PATCH and he is acting strange. Running out of breath. After one toss of the ball. We took him into the VET and they told us to take him to the specialist. The specialist told us Patch had cancer and fluid around his heart. We said goodbye to PATCH later in the week. He was 5-7 years old. It breaks my heart still today to think of him. But I feel a little better that he had a wonderful home with people who loved him greatly, and for the few years we had him, he was happy and safe. After Lord knows what he endured before us. At least he had a piece of the good life for a while. I understand your feelings Kurt, and wish you well. Your a good man keep up the good work! God Bless You, Dougster
For me it was my great dane x Italian mastiff. She was brought back to the breeder after a few weeks and I had to have her. Hard to teach the basics, peed in the house until she learned to stand at the door to be let out. My wife had a fit a year after and she wanted to rehome all dogs... I told her I rather take Mara and move out. She lived till age 8, half blind, spoilt rotten and ripped my heart out when lung cancer got her. The new dog tries, but has big paws to fill. He will get there in my heart.
We are lucky enough to have a Collie, rescued from Ireland in 2010, she only weighed 12kg and had loads of health problems. 13 years on she’s closer to 23kg ( her correct weight) and still manages to drag us on two 3 or 4 mile walks a day. Most rewarding, loyal and best mate we have. Thanks for sharing why you do what you do.
He was a one in a million special boy. As is Caroline. I’m proud to be part of the best rescue ever Well done Kurt. I cry everytime I pick the book up or see a memory of him ❤️🐾🌈🐾
Kurt, utmost respect for taking the time to tell Bailey’s story ! Absolutely heartbreaking but as you said his last year was probably his best ! Massive kudos to all involved to help him from his darkest hour to his best year ! Hardest days have been when I’ve lost my dogs ! Can’t think how hard it was for you to make this film.
Right then Mucker. This video popped up 1 year later so I watched it again. I couldn't comment then because I had lost my boy to a brain tumour not long before this video & it brought it all back to me. Watching again tonight was a little easier, but still vivid in my mind. We are lucky to be blessed with that one dog which for me it was my boy Lou the Newfie. The video about Bailey was what made me join the Patreon page because of your genuine love of the dogs & their care. Keep doing the best for these dogs knowing that you are making their life a little better. Heartfelt thanks for sharing this with us.
I have no words that can express how sad that was for bailey, typing this with tears in my eyes.what a fantastic thing you are doing for the collie rescues keep up the fantastic effort. RIP Bailey gone over the rainbow bridge.
Thank you Lord Muck for sharing a very hard to tell story of a lucky dogs life, lucky to have wonderful people like yourself and those that helped him, Its hard to see a pet/friend/companion/buddy's life end. However you must feel good about being able to see that his last days were good ones. you are a very special Mucker. God bless you. an Oregon animal loving Mucker like yourself.
I remember Bailey coming into PPBC, what a special boy he was. I was proud to be part of admin for a few years and even prouder to have fostered and even adopted from PPBC ❤
Aw Mucker, I'm sitting in tears listening to Bailey's story. I have a Bailey here beside me, and she was found dumped on a grass verge along a country road when she was just a little pup. I rescued her, it's 8 years ago now and like you said she lets me know every day how much it meant to be rescued. A dog knows a good person and thanks for helping those dogs.
I lost my wife 3/4/23 married 52 year's, we have had 13 dogs throughout that time, every time you loose one you say no more I'm not going through this again but if it weren't for my 2 healers I don't think I could take the pain of loosing the only thing that gave meaning to me at my age. My prayer is to outlive them to prevent them from going through what dogs like Bailey go through, I wish you well in your path, my wife and I were involved when younger with finding homes for unwanted animals from birds to horses and everything in between. You are a good man.
Brought tears to my eyes for 2 reasons. First for Bailey, no dog or animal should have to suffer like that, good on you Mucker for the support you gave, to give Bailey a chance to be loved again, and enjoy the last year of his time here. Having lost my German Shepheard 2 months ago I know how hard this is for you even now. he was a rescue, never abused but loved, at 14 months they could not exercise him enough, so rehomed him, we had lost ours and fell in love with him. He spent 11 years at work with me in gardens (one 9acres) he was a clown, loving and so gentle with young kids, tennis ball mad, my customers loved him, even allowed him indoors. he too has left a large hole in my life. Keep up your great work for the collies.
Thanks for telling us the story. I couldn't watch it without any tears, just as you couldn't tell us the story. Anyone who miss treats dogs deserves to rot in hell.
We as a family have rescued over 2 dozen border collies from farms in Cumbria and brought them to the Isle of Wight. One memorable trip was 13 puppies in the back of a Triumph 2000 saloon car and another adult dog in the front footwell under mums feet, oh and my brother and me in the back too! 🤣 Another memorable dog was one that had been found loose on the fells, they called him Kim. We brought him back too, re-homed him and whenever he saw mum he would go nuts, one day the husband of the owner was walking Kim and couldn’t understand why he just got dragged across the road, Kim lived to a ripe old age and mum happened to visit the vets with one of our dogs on Kim’s final trip, he was practically blind, could barely move yet he still wagged his tail when he heard mums voice. He hadn’t seen mum for a few years at that point, so dogs really remember those people important in their lives! It hurts so much to imagine what a dog must go through when it’s taken for a walk and “lost” by its owner! We have a rescue dog that came from Cyprus, she is such a lovely girl, she’s a Heinz 57 mostly Weimaraner according to her DNA test. No idea why she was abandoned, She was estimated at 3yrs old when we got her but she was barely house trained, she is now such a good dog, eager to please, well behaved and thank goodness for insurance, she’s cost us a fortune! 🤣🤣 We love her to bits, can’t imagine being without her. Thank you for your support of the Collies and thank you for telling the story of Bailey. One last thing folks, please don’t leave the room on their final journey because it is too hard, your pet needs you the most at that time! Thank you. 🙏
I’ve seen a different side of you this evening Kurt, a softer more gentle understanding type of chap, and it’s excellent to see. Very genuine indeed. Credit to you sir. ✊👍🚜👏
Kurt , I think I may know why you have a hard time talking about Bailey, it is because you have a big heart of gold towards dogs or any animal . As you were speaking of him , you brought tears to my eyes as I could feel the pain and anguish you were feeling. I have a soft spot for animals as well. Keep up the good work you are doing sir!
Only just got round to watching this... knew it was going to be different to watch. Wow - very well told and fair play my friend. Great story and its great to know you & Caroline helped in the way you did. Let him love out a happy life in the end ❤
Tough to watch, never mind film. You do an amazing kind thing for these dogs. Bailey was lucky to have come to you and the others involved in the charity, its just a shame he didn't come to you without being dumped on the moors. you all made his last year on earth probably the happiest of his life.
I recently had to say goodbye to my dogs because old age had finally caught up with them. My wife said no more pets but I don’t always listen to her. 😊
Poor Bailey , they rely on us so much, their world is so small, their world is us. Thank you to everyone who made sure Bailey had comfort and a peaceful crossing.Love and peace at the end♥
I knew this was going to be a sad one so I had to wait almost a week to watch it. Thank you for telling us about Bailey. I can only imagine what would have been possible if he had been given a proper home instead of being abandoned. My great thanks to all and Caroline in particular for seeing that Bailey got a forever home. A world without animals would be a miserable place. They make us better humans.
Not going to lie I had a tear in my eye watching that. Wasn’t until I got my Beagle that I realised just how much they become part of our lives. He’s 13 now and it’s going to be hard to let him go when the time comes. Thanks to everyone that looks after dogs and give them the best life possible in their final days 👍🏻
Mr. Muck, thank you for the tough story. On Sept 11 2020 our black lab “Pitch” was born. He was a dog like I’ve never had the pleasure to spend time with…there have been many over my 60 years. He ran and bicycled with me daily for the past two years and was a huge inspiration for me. 2 weeks ago Pitch became quite sick, he received care at the University of Saskatchewan Vet Med College in Canada. He had an enlarged heart. Pitch passed away shortly after his sickness became apparent. I can’t begin to explain the heartbreak and sadness I feel. Thank you for caring for our canine companions.
2 of the easiest ways to tell what kind of a person somebody is without even having to meet them. See how well they treat their animals and see how well animals treat them. I’m a firm believer animals are a better judge of human character than we ever will be.
LM Thanks for sharing your story about Bailey, in our house dogs held in high regard, lost a fair myself, I would love to get the book, our kids dogs, your a good man and Thank you for caring.
Well done mate. I lost my dog in a million last year after being poorly for 12 months. I have had lots of dogs on the farm over the years but Pig was my dog in a million and like all the others they always tell you when they are ready for rainbow bridge. I am a 50 year old man in floods of tears watching your vid. Really glad no one is here!🙂 exceptfor the collie pup sitting on my feet. I have got a painting of him on the side with his ashes and a cushion with his picture on that my family brought me when he died next to me which goes wherever I go. We took him to Cornwall last week when the kids treated me to a surprise weekend for my 50th. I love your vids and respect what you and all the others do for the dogs. Keep up the good work mate.❤
Good on you!. That was hard to watch, but it was obviously harder to make. That poor doglet had a loving, safe and happy last chapter thanks to a group of decent Human beings. Nice one!.
thank you so much for sharing this video i feel the same way about my last dog every time i think about him i get upset after 9 years. you are a star for all that you do for the dogs RIP BAILEY
Thank you for telling us the story about Bailey . Luckily he had a good final year and died loved well fed and well cared for. Hopefully that restored his faith in humans. 🙏
Our first rescue was a total character, he left a huge gap when he left us, I think he was lucky enough to be taken in by kennels when an elderly owner passed away. On our second rescue now, she was bred and bred and bred, and obviously abused and mistreated. It’s taken a year so far to get her confident enough to sit next to us on the sofa, she didn’t even wag her tail, but she’s going to be a lovely dog in time. Thanks for sharing Mucker, people need to know these stories, and those that can, help out. These dogs steal your heart, but it’s so worth it.
My old 14 year old Staffordshire bull terrier passed away a year ago last Saturday. people say it’s only a dog. but quite simply my dogs are like my children / my best friend/ my side kick etc and with out them life is definitely not the same. a very empty emotional feeling when they’re not around. It just just sickens me the way some people treat and think about all animals
This story reduced me to tears. No dog should end up starving and ready to die. That last year was his retirement, a slice of heaven to make up for the bad period. You are a good man Lord Muck, a really good man.
Couldn’t help but watch this with a tear in my eye. Well done mucka for sharing this story with us. Over the years many dogs come and go, but there is always that one that leaves that lasting impression in our hearts. 👍🏼
God bless you and everyone involved with Bailey's rescue Mukka.Everyone who has ever owned an animal knows what its like when they leave you.Take care and a fabulous chatiry we support .....RIP Bailey x
lord muck my heaet gows out to you and baley sending all my love and condolances to you and the colleys and the charrtys out there god bless this made me cry big thanks from jonathan wheatley
I feel your pain, last Monday we had too have our 18yr old terrier put too sleep. Single hardest thing I’ve ever had too do walking into the vets, held it together for my sister until I sat in the landrover. Feel your pain mucker
Loosing a dog is like loosing one of the family I know have been through it and said never again but you do it anyway because they give you their loyalty
Anyone who can show emotions like this on the internet over a stinking old collie dog has my upmost respect mate… my old grumpy collie is led on my feet as we speak and I was literally telling both my boys today that you need to make more of an effort with him as he won’t be around for ever! Having my first collie put to sleep was so hard I swore I’d never get another dog but life just isn’t the same and along came the second.. he’s big, bad tempered and does what he wants and is the exact opposite of my first but I wouldn’t change him!
Kurt, I get how hard that must have been for you to film mucka, my last dog was a lab/collie cross and it broke me when I had to have her put to sleep, but she had 16 good years with us and wanted for nothing, we got her as a rescue from the RSPCA at 10 weeks old. Thank you for all that you do to help with your rescue colliies. Bailey had a good and well loved end to his life. RIP Bailey ❤
What a touching story. No being should ever suffer like Bailey did but the harsh truth is that he was one of the lucky ones. Thank goodness there are some truly amazing people out there that without a thought put them selves out and take on these poor souls. Angels walk among us. Bailey's story is truly inspiring. Well done for getting through the video buddy, and it hurts because you care. Not something I'd normally watch but I'm so glad I did.
What a beautiful and inspiring story. In November 2013, my wife was looking at an Irish dog rescue site. Far enough away not to be tempting, but near enough to be relevant. She saw the story of a dog that had been left at a dog pound in County Kerry. No history, just dumped. The dogs there had a week and were put to sleep. The rescue went with a van and took them all. One was very depressed and showed signs of neglect. A family near London wanted to adopt him and he was sent to their UK agent, a lovely woman who lives at High Wycombe. She got him ready for his new home. He loved it there, but the people decided after two weeks that they no longer wanted him, and he went back to his foster home. It wasn't practical to keep him, it seemed inhumane to send him back to Ireland and she didn't know what to do. The Irish rescue put a feature on their Face Book site. My wife saw this, and contacted them offering Jack a home. At this stage she felt it would avoid a lot of irritating questions if she just didn't tell me. This was a Tuesday. On Saturday morning she said she'd like to go out for lunch. I was surprised at her answer when I asked where? She said it was because it was near the pet supply shop. I asked it we were having a little canine visitor, we often look after friend's dogs. She said; "No, we're having a little canine resident". I asked when? She told me he be there in about five hours. Lunch and a load of dog kit out of pocket, I settled down to wait. On the evening of Saturday the 13th of November 2013, Jack came to live with us. About eight years old, and covered in injuries, all his front teeth missing or broken. He was worried and scared. He had been moved about for months now and this was just a confusing, strange place. As he became happier and more used to us, Jack's personality shone through. He was like all Border Collies, an obsessive. Not ball or food, Jack liked to socialise. He was incredibly friendly. Everyone in the area got to know him. At the beginning of November 2020 it was clear that something was very wrong. Jack had developed bone marrow cancer. The vet was marvellous, but said that he only had days, and his quality of life would become very poor. We decided that we would let him go, three days before his seventh Gotcha Day.
I'm sure Bailey's faith was restored in human nature after the good work everybody did for him.. all our pet's, although i call them family members that we've lost will be waiting for us.. well done Kurt👍
Mate... I feel for you , and all connected with Bailey... Sometimes....... Dogs are infinitely nicer than humans. Raise a glass of something to him and be glad you ALL made his last year better than it might have been...
Thanks for sharing Mucker. That wasn't easy for you. I went through something similar with a 9 month old Red Australian Cattle Dog who'd been left with a spiral fracture to his back left leg. No micro chip no collar. The Vet did everything he could for that Dog whatever he needed. He was 17 years old when he finally went. We gave him good life. My Mum died nearly 2 years ago, I've been left with her little dog Teddy a 16 year old shitzu cross he's slightly deaf and going blind but he'll be round till he's ready to go.
This is why no other channel on TH-cam has the community that yours does mucker. You have a lightning wit, can destroy a Cockwomble with one sentence but have a heart of gold. Lynn and Caroline must be wonderful people too.
i to have a bailey mucker he’s a golden retriever we lost his sister at Christmas age 13 she lay down under an olive tree in the garden her legs just couldn’t go anymore . He never leaves my side now and everyday he looks at the tree to see if she’s back . He gets very tired now but still enjoying going for a walk in the bush i make the most of every day with him now as time is passing by have watched most of your videos and enjoy very much cut my teeth on a dexter when about 12 years old rolling fields after sewing how the machines have changed in the last 50 years keep up the good work and greetings from Perth Australia
A very loving video , so so hard when a family member passes after not having a great past . I had a rescue German shepherd that was crated up to 12 hrs a day on a wire floor , not in good shape at all . But had a lovely 5 years with him . Still missed dearly 3 years on . Hats off to you mucker.
Thanks for telling Baileys story. Fully understand how hard it was. So hard to understand when so many dogs are so much better than so many people. Thanks again for what your doing for collies.
All respect to you Kurt I can imagine how hard that tale was hard to tell.I’ve had dogs all my life until 3 years ago I lost my golden retriever who was the cleverest, loyal dog we ever owned we lost her on her 13 birthday and still today I think of her every day.
Hats off to you Lord Muck, for managing to tell this story. Totally understand you doing it in segments. The story reduced me to tears too. I bought a few tickets. So Glad the money is going to such a genuine worthwhile cause.
Fred, as with so many others that bought tickets, thank you for your generosity. You may not have won the Dexta but you've gone on to win the hearts of so many dogs who it will help now and in the future.
Glad there are decent people who care & love dogs and help as best they can. Sadly I've just said goodbye to our two old collies (both from rescue) within the last 5 months of each other. 16 & 17 years old. I took our 16 year old out in a pram, which I called his chariot as he still wanted to do it, he would ride to his walk then get out and say hello to other dog walkers and their dogs. He would sniff & smell and enjoy. Then, when he was tired, I would put him back into his chariot and continue our walk with him, still enjoying the smells and sights. Some horrible neighbours said I pushed my stupid dog around in a stupid pram, and everyone was laughing at us. You know what? I couldn't care what anyone else thought or said, and it wouldn't stop me. Most people actually smiled. Enjoy your dogs and do the best for them. They are part of the family. Thankfully, we got another collie from Rescue, and she has helped to make the home complete. She lived with the two oldies for 9 &12 months. It was OK to get emotional, too, as I am sure most decent loving people do.
Your neighbours only wish deep down that they had something so precious with such a connection in their own, mundane, empty existence. They will never know what those of us who have had dogs know and therefore they will never have truly lived 😉

Be proud of yourself and everything you do. It means a lot to a lot of people and a lot of animals.
I didn’t expect to be wiping my eyes when I put this on. I applaud all the work you do for the dogs. 😢🐶❤🙏

Much appreciated 😉
I really wish, humans could learn to love their pet as much as they love us. Thank you for this story. Rest in Peace Bailey.
Good old boy - fair brought a tear to my eye. To be fair I prefer dogs to people.

We love her to bits, can’t imagine being without her.
Thank you for your support of the Collies and thank you for telling the story of Bailey.
One last thing folks, please don’t leave the room on their final journey because it is too hard, your pet needs you the most at that time! Thank you. 🙏
As a dog lover I felt your emotion and how difficult it was for you to tell Bailey's story, a big well done for all you do for the charity.
Your a good man for what you and the others do for the dogs.
Watched with my own rescue dog sat next to me, nice to know there's still good people around. Thanks for the insight, very moving. ❤
Only just got round to watching this... knew it was going to be different to watch. Wow - very well told and fair play my friend. Great story and its great to know you & Caroline helped in the way you did. Let him love out a happy life in the end ❤
Fair play to you Sir .I'm bawling my eyes out here.Had lots of dogs and it was always hard to say goodbye to the most loyal companions.God Bless .
You moved me to tears Mucker and I am not a dog person. Respect to you for having the guts to tell us about Bailey.
All the best, Kurt. We can see & hear how hard that was for you. 👍 He looked & sounded like a lovely old boy.
Tough to watch, never mind film. You do an amazing kind thing for these dogs. Bailey was lucky to have come to you and the others involved in the charity, its just a shame he didn't come to you without being dumped on the moors. you all made his last year on earth probably the happiest of his life.
That story would draw a tear from a stone 😢. Currently sitting in the tractor cab wiping tears away 😢
I recently had to say goodbye to my dogs because old age had finally caught up with them. My wife said no more pets but I don’t always listen to her. 😊
Bailey was obviously a very special dog. Good that people care for these wonderful creatures.
You have a big heart man - wish more people did 👍
Well said mukker, you can judge people by how they treat animals. You are a top bloke and a true inspiration ❤️
Thanks so much for this video all of our dogs were rescue dogs and were like a member of our family. Thanks again!
Awww, that’s a tough story to tell, I felt your tears Lord Muck.
Rip Bailey ❤
I'm sorry for your loss dogs are family too
Good on you!. That was hard to watch, but it was obviously harder to make. That poor doglet had a loving, safe and happy last chapter thanks to a group of decent Human beings. Nice one!.
What an amazing, heartwarming story. Thank you for sharing with us.
thank you so much for sharing this video i feel the same way about my last dog every time i think about him i get upset after 9 years. you are a star for all that you do for the dogs RIP BAILEY
Thank you for telling us the story about Bailey .
Luckily he had a good final year and died loved well fed and well cared for.
Hopefully that restored his faith in humans.
🙏
Total and utter respect for you Kurt. You like all good dog keepers have a good heart. Good bless all our four legged friends ❤️❤️✊✊
RIP Bailey what a wonderful dog he sounded to be.
I know how you are with dogs. If it was up to you you have a pack of 25 around old land rovers. You are a good ginge, come over to meet the new mutt.
Couldn’t help but watch this with a tear in my eye. Well done mucka for sharing this story with us. Over the years many dogs come and go, but there is always that one that leaves that lasting impression in our hearts. 👍🏼
God bless you and everyone involved with Bailey's rescue Mukka.Everyone who has ever owned an animal knows what its like when they leave you.Take care and a fabulous chatiry we support .....RIP Bailey x
lord muck my heaet gows out to you and baley sending all my love and condolances
to you and the colleys and the charrtys out there god bless this made me cry big thanks from jonathan wheatley
I feel your pain, last Monday we had too have our 18yr old terrier put too sleep. Single hardest thing I’ve ever had too do walking into the vets, held it together for my sister until I sat in the landrover. Feel your pain mucker
Loosing a dog is like loosing one of the family I know have been through it and said never again but you do it anyway because they give you their loyalty
you're one in a million . thanks for sharing . can't stand people who abandon dogs or any animal
Never anything worse then losing a dog, well done for sharing.
Dogs are amazing, they never fail to forgive humans no matter what humans had done before to them
Anyone who can show emotions like this on the internet over a stinking old collie dog has my upmost respect mate… my old grumpy collie is led on my feet as we speak and I was literally telling both my boys today that you need to make more of an effort with him as he won’t be around for ever!
I think i cried nearly as much as you through that I'm holding little Bonnie Mae that bit tighter tonight.
Always thought you were a dude...now we know you're a dude with a big heart...proud of what you do!
What a wonderful end for a wonderful dog.
Love and care until the end.
Thanks Lord Muck, you have a lovely heart, RIP Bailey. Kind regards from NZ.
I'm sure Bailey's faith was restored in human nature after the good work everybody did for him.. all our pet's, although i call them family members that we've lost will be waiting for us.. well done Kurt👍
Evening mucker my dad always used to say a dog will only break your heart once and that when they die.
Sat here at 34 years old with my Cats like a blubbering mess. Love everything you do mate , ‘kin all of it.
Kurt thanks for telling the story. Hard one as we could tell when listening.
Rip baily and we'll done everyone that helped him. I carnt believe someone would do this to a dog. Thanks for sharing mucka.
Sounds like a wonderful dog and his contribution still goes on because of the affect he had.
Well done mucker for telling Baileys story, that's hit me hard as iam sure many of us ole boys feel the same , Bless you mate,
Oh god I’m in bits 😢dear old boy bless him
Thank you for telling us the story it Bailey 💔 you truly are one of life’s good people 👍
a truly touching revelation, the paw print was left on your heart and you have risen too the honour of baileys memory in fine fettle.
i to have a bailey mucker he’s a golden retriever we lost his sister at Christmas age 13 she lay down under an olive tree in the garden her legs just couldn’t go anymore .
We have had dogs all our lives so we feel your pain. His last year was happy for him.god bless you mucker.
Your a good man mucker there's some evil feckers out there rip Bailey do well mate n take care
Well done my Heart goes out to you. Well done.
