I just want genuine romhacks made for the pc port, all we have are direct pprts of existing hacks, and super mario moonshine, most romhacks are made to be played on emulators anyways, modders should really move to the pc port
@@aspieweeb4526 It would be awesome to see more projects on pc, but the n64 version is simpler to use for the end user who only have to patch the rom and start the emu up, while with pc/etc there's more steps and complications. I believe if the pc/etc port wants to be more popular to mod than n64 it needs to be as simple or even easier to run and develop on than n64.

i honestly miss the "every copy of mario 64" is personalized stuff. we got so much cool alternate universe mario 64 stuff out of it, ranging from concepts to rom hacks. sadly it looks like we wont ever get a fully fledged personalized mario 64 hack
Greenio, is still doing personalization videos so i wouldn’t say it’s dead yet, but it’s definitely died down which admittedly saddens me as well.

@@telkatax607 Thanks! I'm not exactly sure how long the hack will be, but I do know that it will have over 200 Stars, due to the sheer amount of levels and floors.

These are actually the kinds of things that really freak me out. All of my nightmares involve me in a place that I recognize, but the rooms are switched around and it just feels off. This mod captures that perfectly.

For anyone who doesn't know, this was made by a TH-camr called MarioNova, who decided to replicate some kind of fever dream thing that people apparently had with this game when they were kids and used it for three videos documenting a fever dream akin to this. Probably because of how empty the actual game is.

here’s the thing: I played super mario 64 on the nintendo 64 as a kid, and i remember these things not happening B U T at the exact same time it feels like i do, like i’ve dreamed of them or something. I got extremely strong Deja Vu with the invisible walls in the basement, as well as the floor past the floor in bowsers room. The stairs and the sign in the basement is super familiar and the corridor with all the doors. Extreme Deja Vu with the invisible room library and the pipe outside as well it’s fucking nuts
yeah the best way i've been able to describe it is its like Breaking The Barrier more captures what the nostalgia of playing Mario 64 is like to experience rather than how it *actually* felt to play

So what was the theme of this ROM hack? Is it supposed to be trippy and not make sense or is it a work in progress?
It’s supposed to be another Beta Mario 64 anomaly except there’s nothing explicitly creepy, just oddities like going through a Luigi painting only to be looped back at the start or areas where no music plays
@John Clark well, the rom was never actually intended to be released, people just kept begging marionova to release it. the oddities you mentioned weren’t in the original videos.
My best guess is that it follows the idea that every copy of Mario 64 is personalized seeing as most rooms in the castle look similar to the original castle but with a slight twist
I believe the concept of this is that, people have vague memories about playing Super Mario 64 and having extra rooms/levels that never actually existed. It's also about when people dream about playing Super Mario 64 and finding secret areas, extra rooms, etc.

How do I access the minimovies you made that show Mario and Luigi exploring the anomalous areas and talking about how they shouldn't exist. An example is "SM64 Mario Jumps the Trapdoor, and goes Beyond the Barrier!".
Unfortunate this mod doesn't have any actual levels, that's what it really needed.

La idea no está mal, pero no lo veo como un diseño de niveles para nada intuitivo. No sé si la intención era hacer una especie de laberito, pero se debe recurrir a memorizar muchas zonas para si quiera emterarte de qué está pasando.
No sé si habras visto los tres videos de MarioNova, pero la idea era mostrar una especie de extensión secreta del castillo más alla de la barrera invisible en la habitación de Bowser in the Dark World
