I do want to thank you as I have paid a lot for these small rope halters and never thought I would be able to make one. I did and it fit perfect- I also got to choose my colours and patterns on the rope by making my own. Nice to have a brother you get along with so well.

Hi Thanx a bunch! You two are entertaining as well as informative : ) I made a rope halter following your directons with some extra rope--I started with extra rope and pulled one of the loops out and made an extra knot in it and made reins as part of the halter (hope that make sense....one of the loops under the chin becomes a rein if pulled out long enough and an extra run in through the knot : ) thanx again....

Hi thanks for the info - it worked well!
FYI - the extra knots are used for training - they add extra pressure when needed.

How do you do the first knot on the noseband, that bit is missed out? so I am stuck!

I agree except we use a very thin rope halter only for training and the extra knot pressure can just be a bit more of an incentive to respond. The knots should not be needed once the horse is trained. Thanks again for the video -

great vid. they put 4 knots for when your riding it applies more pressure.

The two extra knots are for pressure points. After all the whole point of a rope halter is moving off the pressure. So even though your videos are so helpful and wonderful. That is the reasoning behind the dumb people

Nice videos. Here in Denmark were making it in another way, but i'm pretty sure that this way is best :-)

four knots on the noseband puts extra pressure points on the nose.

I am having the same issue connecting the rope where it lays on the cheek. (the end of part 2) I can get it to ty just like the other knots but it comes out the knot on the wrong side. So the extra length of rope goes toward the fiador knot instead of across the nose band... What am I doing wrong?
