Good information on EP fibers and patterns. Thanks Brian
Your videos are some of the best for streamer guys point blank . Your tying videos are straight that tying. I also like the tip videos as well . There all very well done
Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for the video. Good tips! One of the better fly tying videos on EP fibers
Thanks!!
I use ep fiber for almost 90% of my flies. I live in San Diego and baitfish flies are epic here. I even use it for sand crab patterns for the croaker species in our surf zones. 3D baitfish are on of my favorites to tie and they size from 2 1/2 inches to it’s big sister at 12” for some offshore fishing
Great tips! Love Clousers and your scissor shaping tip is awesome. I’m a streamer user for largemouth in central Tx. Looking forward to those (and all your) videos! 👍👍 Thanks Brian! Best wishes 🎣✌️
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
It would be interesting to see that baitfish pattern in the swim tank. Thanks for bringing this to us. Keep the good stuff coming.
Flymens new tank should be coming out soon. Swim clips will be back in the videos as soon as I get mine.
Outstanding video, brother.
Thanks!
Great job on the round head EP! I need to try the Clouser
I'd Like to see actual on stream videos from you Brian! The master at work
Great vid mate. I too made the transition from bucktail on my clousers to EP fibres. I've found they foul a little more, but the ease in tying, effect in the water - colours and translucence etc, more than make up for it. Your tying videos have helped me immensely over the years. Keep it up. Psyched for the streamer tactics series.
Thanks for watching! Streamer Tactics will be fun.
Thanks for the great tips Randy.
Thanks for watching!
Great video Brian. I appreciate all the tips and advise you have been sharing lately. I haven't worked with ep fibers yet, but I am ordering some from hareline soon for an order of streamers I'm working on for a guy. I will definitely be using some of these tips during that process.
EP Fibers are a must for any streamer tyer.
Very informative!!
Nice , EP fibers are pretty versatile for not only streamers but lots of other applications . I use them quite a bit in composite loops , sometimes I bar the tips with a marker and they look really cool . The one down side is managing the hank it has a tendency to go wild and everywhere. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Brian! Clousers Rule!! The local river Smallmouth just love them!
ALL smallmouth love Clousers!!
now that was awesome!
I use EP fibres for posts on dry flys and wings on foam flys. Awesome material
Good stuff!I've been brushing alot of macrame cord its basically the same as EP and alot cheaper now I just need to start making some stuff👍
I have been seeing that as a replacement for EP. In all seriousness, that may be the exact product.
It’s comedy and fly tying at its best!
Thanks! I actually have a video like that on my list. Trying to get it put together.
Another tip packed video Brian 🤙🏻 any reason you don't cut the fibres to length and tie them in pre tapered on tbe clousers? When I'm tying similar stuff all those little offcuts go in a dubbing brush then
You 'could' pre-taper them in the Clousers, but they are easier to work with after they are on the hook. Great idea on the dubbing brush for trimmed fibers!!
What color combos of these two flies do you like the most for Stripers?
If ep fiber there are not available can I substitute with Antron as well...?
Tip. Try Congo hair from Fly Tyers Dungeon and never look back.
Great Video. Where can we get the eyes. Have not been out to shops lately

Great videos, congratulations.
I have one doubt about EP, my flies with EP fiber dont sink, they are floating. Why does it happen? Could you help me?
Thank you. Best Brazilian regards.
Most of the time they will sink if you get them wet. I would suggest using less material and use a sinking line to help get them down.
Does EP make trigger point fibers? If so what are they? I've seen other tiers refer to them. Thanks
Yes. Trigger Point Fibers are EP Fibers. They treat them with a waterproofing agent so they shed water easier. Great for dry fly wings and posts especially.
@@flyfishingtheozarks Thank you! I've never seen the specific "trigger point" label for EP fibers in any materials catalog. I know Enrico P. uses the EP fiber for tying the whole fly on his own dry flies, I saw them in a magazine. I believe the "TP" fibers are specific insect colors. Thanks again.
I've always loved EP Trigger fibers but have never found them pleasing to the eye for wings on larger Mayflies as I can't seem to cut them with a tapered effect. They seem too blunt/rude just trimmed straight or with a curved scissors. Any chance you share your method for using Trigger fibers for wings on dries size 8 to 12 with a tapered effect. Really appreciate that if you could.
Personally I cut them before tying them in and than I tease them with my fingers to get a taper.
@@MarcTelesha interesting, never considered that. I'll give it a go. Thanks for the information.
What type of vise are you tying with?
I have 2 main vises, both Peak. One is the regular Peak, the other is called the L.I.R.S. It is literally the best vise for holding large hooks.
How do you store your ep fibers once they have been opened?
2 ways....one is the only cut the corner of the package and pull fibers out as needed, the other is to zip-tie the very end of the whole hank.
@flyfishingtheozarks thanks for the info. Really appreciate you getting back to me.
What's the difference between ep fiber and bucktail for clouser?
Bucktail will give you a more stabil swim, where EP will "swim" with the fly.
What mono thread are you using and hooks?
UTC Mono Thread www.feather-craft.com/uni-translucent-clear-mono-thread
I am not OCD, but the two different eyes on the vise...
He's artsy like that.
Where can I find a vice stone like that
alaskahalibutlodge.com/thegranitefly/ They are AWESOME.
its from the movie dumb and dumber when he gets to fill in up the beer bottles and he says this ones almost full so he says well stop. and he says i can't stop once I start it stings!!!
Deaf mute!
Hand signals. Theatric!
Im out!
