In most parts of the World, trash is seen as a major problem. Here it's the opposite; more trash means more power. There is solutions humanity's problems after all.

Love Oslo, Norway. Norway rocks. My country is one the worst when it comes to properly processing our garbage. I live in the most dense region in USA, but yet people don't about such an important matter. Our elected officials are useless. It is sad to witness their ignorance about global warming. Happy belated Earth Day from USA 😊🐒🐘🦏🐼🌻🌷
As much as I like the idea of less trash in the world, I fear that this type of technology will not lessen our wasteful habits giving us no reason to produce less garbage. It's a good middle ground solution but long term solutions need to be the banning of single use items. Instead of using 300 single use Starbucks cups per year times millions of people, there needs to be a "Bring your own mug," type policy. This could be implemented to thousands of very wasteful businesses. The grocery store in the future will be centered around a zero waste concept in where you bring your own containers to fill up on the foods you need. The sky's the limit on this concept and the only thing standing in it's way is limited thinking. Reusable bottles for drinks, reusable jars, reusable to go containers, etc. We could eliminate 80% of all waste by adopting a new and better system. All compostable material will stay local and be utilized for backyard gardens and/or local agricultural production. Styrofoam would be banned worldwide as well as plastic bags. A couple reusable shopping bags for everyone and we instantly eliminate 500 billion to 1 TRILLION plastic bags every year from this planet!
Stop penalising individuals and make companies come up with more eco friendly ways. In the old days paper bags and cardboard boxes were used in supermarkets to carry your stuff, the companies stopped using them to save more money.
No, this is not the answer. The answer is to produce less waste and to recycle much more. This is incineration which produces massive atmospheric pollution and CO2. We need to start taking the greenhouse effect seriously. We need to improve the quality of the air we breath, and our children and unborn children breath via their mothers. There are many better ways to produce electricity.
Hi Why do you think this is not a solution? I mean the best disposal for waste is to reuse or recycle it and not burn it. But compared to a landfill this waste to energy plant reduces greenhouse gases. Did you know that methan which is relised by landfill is more than 20 times worse for the environnement than CO2? By the way this plant is being upgraded with a pilot project of carbon capturing. In my opinion this waste to energy plants are part of the solution for the worlds garbage problems. Looking forward to your answer. Have a nice day

Haha it's hilarious and utter gibberish 😄
Excuse me, but isn't waste gasification a cleaner and more efficient process than waste incineration?

The problem is sustainability and Free market capitalism is basically inconpatable.
So what else to do trash that's already present, just wish it away into space?People will never be happy with solutions.
Many of these trash to energy plants need to be built in the USA
Good environmental workshop.
Way to go Olso .

Brother you are getting wrong information
The output gas after incineration consists of 99% steam
Do you know what you are talking about?
99% of what’s coming out of the chimney is water vapor.
who likes explosions who let the boilermakers out
Will y'all come here to American and talk some sense into them about burning trash for electricity ?
Elon Musk should work on it
It saddens me that when it comes to this type of technology, I seem to live in the dumbest nation in the world
oslo waste energy plan is verygood .This type .of waste energy, boiler Fuison are required for Indian cities.cost This
