I am the least mechanical or handy person that you will ever meet and I was able to install this clothesline after watching the video with no problem whatsoever. Never thought that I could be so handy. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I have to agree. This seems very simple. I been looking for a method I could do myself all week long. My husband said no to a clothes line. He thinks it’s ugly and the neighbors will be mad so he won’t help or do it. I’m gonna do it anyway while he’s at work behind the house. Something with no post is exactly what I was looking for. I was worried about damaging the house.
I just installed a clothes line a few days ago. It works great but I added the double wheeled tool to keep the two lines together since I’m in a row home and had only two clothes poles which were not as high as others and to not temp my dog.
I've installed clotheslines proffessionaly for 15 years, and one thing I can tell you , is that you never hook a clothesline to a tree. One thing is that a tree will sway in the wind and snap your line. All trees move with the wind., Another is A tree has sap that continually drips and runs onto the clothes. And lastly birds will be in those trees dumping on your clean sheets. Just a tip, to remember,,,
Wow I have never heard of a professional clothes line installer. Just a simple job, I would not think there would be a need for a professional clothes line installer. But hey, if you've made a living doing it kudos to you
check insides of clothing on items such as pants as one could put them on and be stung by a bee. Usually only takes one of these incidents to initiate a habit for checking..
@evaani Oh I see. I want to hang a clothesline in my backyard but it's all Maple trees and What can I do then? I have been wanting to connect one from my wooden deck (that I built) and then let it run all the way to the tall old tree. I do have a large shed I built too the wood is thin though so I don't know if I can connect it to the side or the roof :S Do you think that would be possible?
The Clothes Whirly is REAL! Check out my wind powered tumble clothes dryer. Cheap to make, easy to use, fun to watch. Kids love it, neighbors think it a hoot. Can't go wrong with a Clothes Whirly.
+j edwards to tighten the line if you are talking short stick and if you are talking long stick to prop up the sag in the middle so the clothes keeps up off the ground - and then we use to use one to "beat" rugs with
OMG clothesline clothes smell soooo gross; especially when there's a horse barn next door. And they're scratchy and hard. Plus, as an allergy sufferer, clotheslines are worse than driers in that they add allergens to the clothes as they dry in the wind. Just sayin'. Clotheslines aren't the end all in drying technology.
The guy in this video is great! Simple, straightforward, complete. Perfect.
Was watching another video, fell asleep and woke up seeing this, exactly what I was looking for.

My clothesline just broke so I really needed this. Thank you. Some videos just hold up over time
Super video, just made one based on it, but without the pulleys. Massive improvement over what I had created prior to your instruction.
THE best video on the simplest clothesline ever, explained well too. Thanks!
Best video I've found on making your own clothesline (and I've watched WAY too many).
Good lord the standard is low then

just did it on my house wall - thank you for the instructions.
Great video, I've got the idea of the line tightener now so hopefully I can get a tighter line. Also this video is 13 years old, wow
Gracias por la idea, me gusta que la altura no importa...😊👏🏼
Fácil instalación 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. ¿Dónde consigo el material?
I'm build one this weekend in Central Florida! Thanks a bunch! That 5000 watt clothes dryer makes our meter spin way too fast!

This is a great tip - though remember that some people will not have another option, and in that case a tree is better than no clothesline!

This was great. I think I can do this myself now!
kick ass video on installing clotheslines!!
I love this idea!
The pulley-type clothesline, as shown here, is the easiest type to use, although it's almost unknown outside of the Northeast.
He must be a state trooper from Boston
Nope but he sounds like one. :)
Thanks for posting!
very easy and simple. love it
LOVE "Clothesline enthusiast"

I wish I can buy those pulleys online ... Thanks for sharing
Good video. Thanks.
Should the line tightner be on the lower line?
What pulley wheel size do you recommend for 40 feet of distance, what type of rope and what is the name of the device at 5.06?
He had a 60 ft and it was a small pulley. That should be fine!
can it be used at an angle or does the two pulleys on either end have to be completely straight?

Ok it is a line tightener - doe sit work with plastic coated rope and any type of rope like cotton, polypropylene; is their a diameter requirement?
AWESOME YOUR THE BEST
love it !!!
Would it not be more correct to put clothes on the top line than the bottom?
Using this pulley system, can you fill the two lines continually, without stopping?
Excellent n thanks

Can't go wrong with a Clothes Whirly.
@Myobokuuzan Our line is under shade trees, and there's no real problems with sap. I think it's worth a try. Nothing ventured ...
Were did you get the parts...?
Big line. How many in her family? About 25
Does anyone happen to know what size Pulley the gentleman is using?
@lumberboy286 All trees have sap?
Trying to build me a line Im missing a few major things I might need a little help
What size eye hook?
sorry, u did say what size
weve always dryed our clothes on a clothes line . except maybe in winter .
The famous "standard" knot,
This video would have been 77 minutes long had they not edited the part where you put the line through the clothesline tightener
Can’t get those wheels over here.
the northeast what, solar system? Everyone everywhere uses pulley clotheslines.
If you can't tie a knot, tie a lot.
cross clothesline and a stick. anyone remember what the stick was for? :P

Hanging clothes in a lightning storm is a huge issue I hear.
don't go to home depot , they are clueless
Yep, ok.
Ok yep. Ok yep. Ok yep. 😂
just don't hang out those extra large panies
And if there’s no tree?
Lol
Plant one and wait
Set on a tree? Jesus Christ!!!!!
Instructions unclear, the wind made the tree bend and it ripped the clothe line off the house.

Sort of pissing on the birthday cake, there, Sunshine....
Haha. Many countries don't use dryers and we're smelling just fine. It's been 8 years. Hopefully you've realised this by now lol
