I love your dance analysis! I love Newjeans! right for Danielle section, it isn't about just killing the choreo but more about how to perform, stage presence! great analysis, could you do more Newjeans award show analysis, they released another award show dance practice for TMA the fact music award, their formation at the beginning was so great
The thing I like about these remix practices is how well the girls match up with the rest of the dance crews. Take that first section with Haerin; she starts off sitting next to Babyzoo, is not phased at all and matches the crew move for move. She's 17 and it's beyond impressive.
i always like to watch Haerin dance , so light, so easy, so precisely, she can cut in the music beat correctly with movement, effortless and clean 😊😊😊 Go Haeri , Go Haerin , Go Haerin.......
i like how you make a more profund analysis and not only say ''hey footwork'' or ''they kill it'' something i notice in hanni performance is hr evolution, when i saw the first presentation of cool hit you my first tought whas ''yep danielle have experience in contemporary dancing'' but in this presentation they make danielle cheerfull and full of joy whit super shy, and hanni show her improvement in hand position and extetion, when ador say ''no positions'' they where serious, all the girls improve more and more in every aspect. minji from being the less impresive dancer to make great performances over and over, and the same whit every girl. hoppe ador keep pushing the girls to be the better version of themselfs. also obout asap, i think is the ''weakest because they want to end things whit a warm feeling and not just make you be hyped to the core, i apreciate that.
Oh my gosh I thought the ASAP part was the BEST part of the whole performance!!! Mainly because the percussion they added to the remix brings the song to a crazy new level. But also the choreo just feels like they're having so much fun, hitting the beats, and jumping around. The performance version on the stage at the awards, with the confetti, was so impactful!
I always feel like Danielle is the only one of them that dances with a distinctly feminine energy. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I think the other members have a very unisex vibe when they dance. I think it’s a good thing because anyone could do most of their dances and you wouldn’t think anything of it. Danielle is the one who always finds a way to add a bit more feminine twist to everything. It’s in the wrists, hips, etc. I actually like that it’s just one of the five doing that. I feel like there’s obviously room for one, but I kinda feel like they wouldn’t feel as fresh if all five of them danced like that. Super Shy is probably their “girliest” song, though, and that’s why it works so well as a Danielle solo. It’s perfect for her vibe.
Black.q is such a good influence over them when it comes to dancing. My man is smooth af. Look at him in that lowkey drip with the hat on lmao. Hyojin was great as well here.
Probably because ASAP is more of a chill song and they sticked to the original choreo which made the ending a bit expected, less powerful/interesting(we are used to a more lifting ending of any performance which can bring the audience’s emotion to max).
They’ve been closing plenty of shows with ASAP (incl Lolla when I saw them) and people keep saying they should close with something more hype but idk. I think ASAP is who they were in this era. The second EP was super chill, ETA was the only loud song, the other songs were soft, whimsical, and cutesy. It’s quite subversive in the pop world to go out with a bit of a whimper and stick to who they are. I personally love it. I’m sure they’ll eventually build more songs in their repertoire but for now, doing the five songs in the EP order makes sense. I hope they continue to do that in the future.
They pretty much reused the choreo for ASAP that they had for Lollapalooza and Sumer Sonic. Almost like they ran out of steam at the end and just defaulted back to something they already knew.
danielle's section suited her perfectly

Haerin section is my favorite
110% agree with you about them! I don't know why, but Dani just standing there always gives off so much stage presence to me. Maybe the posture?

Finally eta was meant for Minji she killed it with her dance and vocal
