In this video, we have tried to cover all information about HRTC's SHIMLA-KAZA bus service including fare, distance, travel time and months of operation.
(NOTE: This bus service and Tourism in Spiti is currently suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic, but is expected to resume in coming months)
This is the only bus service between Shimla and Spiti valley and has the reputation of being the safest & economical mode of transport on this route.

Amazing adventurous trip to Kaza from Shimla on bus. Really, hats off to our state Government drivers who have such stamina to have a long drive. I bow my head towards their zeal and dedication.

I have taken this journey , we went further from Kaza and exited from Manali. We did this in a car. Memorable event of life.

@@satpal6714 We started from Delhi and we took our first leg big. Straight away Delhi to Recong Peo. was the first stretch.
@@prashantchakravarty4967 please share more details. We would also like to take same route by Altis Car. Road condition suitable for a car or SUV is must.
@@tapankumar1114 An SUV please, definitely. Between Kaza and Manali, post Chacha Chachi Dhabha, that stretch tests your mettle and driving skills, because you drive through dry river bed for lot of kilo meters. there would be some 20 or more points were waterfall/river is crossing the road. This stretch of driving on 1st/2nd gear exits the moment you touch Rohtang Pass. Make sure you cross this stretch early in the morning because water level would be ok. Post 12 noon, the water flow and water level would be on higher side as the snow melts in the sun. I would suggest you enter from Manali and exit from Shimla, that way you have control over this stretch. If you start from Manali at 5 AM, by 6 you would be at Rohtang Pass and by 8 -9 am you have crossed this stretch of river bed and river and water fall and take your night stay at Kaza. rest of the road is ok
I did this trip in 2018.. from Dehradun - Shimla - Reckong Peo - Kaza - Manali and back to Dehradun, completely by HRTC bus.
This is a really amazing trip. HRTC drivers are highly skilled and best.

I have been to kufri..during driving itself I was so mesmerized by the spectacular beauty that many a times I stopped the bike just to feel the panorama. HP people are pretty honest and sweet in talking - the combined effect will surely give a long lasting memory🙂

Peo > Kaza bus ki tkt Peo terminal se milna bahut mushkil hain. Adv tkt nahi milti hain. Doosri baat, Peo > Kaza bus mey pehle Shimla se aane walo ki tkt extension hoti hain. Uske baad, agar seats available rehti hain, tab locals (Himachalis) ko tkt sell hoti hain.. Itni sare calculations k baad, tourists ko tkt milne ka chance near to zero hain.
Ye apni khud ki experience se share kiya hain.
Always better to board the bus from Shimla for Kaza (though very long journey).

Viewrs, I also done journey so many times at this route. This bus is life line for remote areas of Kinnaur Spiti Valley.

For Kalpa also, same bus will go up to Recongpio. From there Kalpa is just 7 km

Which month of the year this video was shot ?
shovit singh You will find snow in Spiti after November till March/April.
Snow shots were clicked in March 2020 and other shots in Summer 2019
