If you don't mind me asking, what are the things in the Bible that you are having the most trouble with? The Bible is not the only thing my Christian faith is based on anymore (which has been the case for the majority of Christians throughout history). I try to have a balance between the (1) Bible, (2) Tradition, (3) Experience, (4) Science/Nature. This is what many people call the "Wesley's Quadrilateral". And within that I try to respect the origins of the Bible, the context and their ancient authors who were not perfect in actions nor knowledge about God. I hold those people as my spiritual forefathers and foremothers whom I listen, respect and love
@@OctavioMossMy difficulties are mostly with the old testament God. I'm exploring my beliefs as I was mainly a deist (God as a force) vs a personal, savior God. God is supposed to be unchanging and yet I see many differences between the God of the old testament and Jesus. I used to be a non-dualist, deist but I am starting to find flaws there too, so I'm looking into Christianity. I'm just not sure about anything anymore
same as you, i dont think god lies, but i also think that god make desicions, and not exactly divine desicions but human desicions, i think although he hates things like a lie or liying people, he can take advantage of some situations and allows that things happen like this or this for the sake of his plans? an interesting tought, i think that proves that god is more human than what people usually think about him. Think about Samson, he wasnt a exactly what god wants in the first place, but he manages to fullfill his, lets say, "destiny". Sorry for my english, im not american 😅
I don’t believe God lies. Having said that, the author of this story portrays God as being complicit in this lie. How do you personally square that? Genuinely curious
@@OctavioMoss God is outside of space, time, and matter. He is the Excellent Glory and the most high I AM. We can't judge Him by our standards. We're His temporal, finite, shortsighted creations; we're in no position to. Only those above God can find fault in Him, and no one holds that position. So who would he be sinning against? The Bible says "Who precedes God" that He can correct Him? I trust it when His direct word says He is unsearchably good and cannot sin. And upon that I don't waver. Again, He is above our standard. When you say He is complicit in a lie, think about the fault/sin of anger. When it comes to God there is no sin. The Bible speaks of His *righteous* anger. Whereas with us, to hold onto anger is sin. Otherwise than what I've already said, and it's fine to disagree, as a demonstration of faith--I find no fault in God. There are answers to questions we will not receive or understand until we're on the other side. Till then, I trust in His goodness and faithfulness. If you wouldn't mind responding, is this a Christian channel? Regarding the faith, what position do you stand on as far as content creation? If you prefer not to respond, I'll just watch more videos. I'll probably watch more either way. God's best blessings in the name of Jesus.
@@sovereigngodlisaloves9525 Thanks for your honest answer. This wouldn't be holding God up to our standards but to HIS standards. There are many places in the Bible where God not only commands people not to lie but it also says that God hates the lying tongue. If 1st Kings is an accurate representation of God then God is not being consistent with who He is and what He likes/wants. Like I said before, I don't think God lies and I don't think 1st Kings 22 is an accurate representation of who God is (there are other passages like this in the OT), especially when you compare this with God's portrayal in Jesus. Peace to you my friend
@@OctavioMossThanks for this exchange. I wish I could've learned your mission statement (so to speak) for this channel, but I'll put more energy into finding out for myself. I trust that the Bible is faultless and that simultaneously God can do no wrong. Peace to you as well, Octavio Moss. And, as long as it aligns with His will--God bless and heighten your ministry IJN. Amen.
How then does the Bible differ from Scriptures from other religions?...and how do YOU decide what God actually feels?
What are your beliefs? I'm having trouble being a Christian because of the Bible

Perfect English actually
God isn't doing the lying. "God is not a man that He should lie." (Numbers 23:19)
