Nope man nothing happens like that. I know many people who have served and done that for more than 20 years. They don't feel a damn thing about their arm. One of the dude who had served told me that when the band's are playing while marching the body automatically gets charged up and makes you March. Its a different feeling can't be described in words. You need to do it to experience it.
That arm swinging is bloody difficult. Ask any ex-servicemen. I think India is one of the few that do it. Very impressive.
