Thank you for this video. I am in a burn-out at the moment. Up untill now I thought I was depressed. Feeling overwhelmed at work and have to deal with a lot of changes has put me in a state of not be able to do simpele tasks at home

Just want to say thank you for this...
I've just sent this to my partner's boss, because no-one really talks about / understands autistic burnout and masking, so I'm hoping he is able to find the time to watch it! :)

I thought I had depression for the past 3 years. Nothing I used to do to get out of it worked, and then I found out it's autistic burnout. I found this very informative. I wish all professionals could see it.. Thank you. 😊

man i think back to when I was in elementary school and what i know now was overwhelm and burnout, I got punished for not doing my work on time and I was told to focus more, to do better, to not be lazy, etc. and the pressure of being a 'smart' kid so I should be able to figure it all out and do it, and if not then it was my fault.

I am soooo used to monologue videos for information. I'll have to take some time to get everything watched in this video.
I did find a study published in 2017 where 92 adults were surveyed on the effects of "camoflaging" . they had defined camoflaging as masking in the preface but chose camoflaging to classify it. it It was done at Cambridge.
It did show the exhaustion and other negatives as well a few positives.
The authors (NTs) still didn't get a full grasp , however they were pressing for more research.
My personal burnouts are so extensive I have no idea how to work around them.
I hope the campaign can help us find more solutions along with the awareness.
My wife has been spreading the word in the circles she has connected to. (Nt wives with ASC husbands). She is overjoyed anytime someone comments back that the information the campaign is providing is renewing hope in those marriages.

Thank you, fantastic insight into Burnout, I believe the dozens of extended burn outs and fibromyalgia flares are the reason I was being treated for bipolar over the last decade, but I always disagreed with psychiatrists and last week finally, my new psychiatrist seems to see it, is weaning me off medication, and is wishing me the best with going forward with my ASD assessment, I feel validated for the first time in my life. On a side note, you have a really handsome boy, I'm a ginger too. Gingers Rule 😂😊💖

I don’t think I’d ever get bored hearing you Kieran 😉. Autistic burnout is my life and I’m only just understanding this now, 2.5 years on from diagnosis at 47.
I was one who was given a tentative dx of Borderline. That’s not to say there aren’t traits but yeah
