I know Donna had beef with the pressure and Quincy during her pregnancy...who wouldn't, especially if they were being pushed to create a new, fresher sound under duress? Together, her and Quincy created one of her best 80s pop albums. It fully captured the sound of the very early 80s.
@maggie6234 hi, Maggie - actually, the first "continuous mix" album was Gloria Gaynor's "Never Can Say Goodbye" - but Donna certainly eclipsed her. Gloria won a Grammy for Best Disco Recording/ I Will Survive, while Donna won Best Rock Vocal for "Hot Stuff"...
@kevin26a - Never heard that before. The liner notes from the She Works Hard For The Money cd states Love Has A Mind Of Its Own is a duet with Matthew Ward. May sound like Jeffrey Osborne, but I believe its Matthew Ward. Just because that's what the cd liner notes say.
No this is Jeffery Osbourne on Mystery of Love, Matthew as on Love Has a mind of its own. Was Matthew a well known singer? Joe "Bean" Esposito would have been good on Love has a mind of its own. I posted the single version of the song
This song isn't from "She Works Hard For The Money", its from the Quincy Jones produced album "Donna Summer", which Donna supposedly hated. She was pregnant at the time, and continuously clashed with Quincy. She must've really been disappointed with it: its the only album not available on iTunes.
Great remix! The only thing bothering me is the hats(open). Other than that it is perfectly playable in a pro DJ set. I would love to play it if you have another version with different or less hats and more snare/claps. Good Job m8!
