There's a new shop that opened up in Olde Mystick Village in Mystic, CT called "The Cloak and Wand." There were Halloween decorations outside and a literal line to get in. They had this really cool cabinet-of-curiosities aesthetic and sold lots of spooky stuff, D&D and Harry Potter merch, craft wands, books of folklore, etc. And in the back they had these Victorian-style display cabinets full of skulls and shrunken heads and the like. They also had this cafe where they sold juice drinks with names like "hex on the beach" and "embalming fluid," and the label on the cup was so awesome I actually kept the cup. It's like Goth Diagon Alley! I am just so happy that places like that exist in the world, and that I can go to them. It's validating.
You should really do some kind of children's book... Like Dr. Seuss, but for death! Maybe you can teach kids how to deal with loss or death. It can be gothic as heck! I would buy it!
I have to say that a collaboration between Voltaire and Elvira would be absolutely awesome, although I'm afraid that it may be more than my evil little kitty heart could take, nyao!
I can't wait to see all the Haunted Mansion decor! I feel really bad for Michael's this year, and their employees. I'm a Halloween villager, and watching people lose their minds in village groups was just sad. It's not their faults the supply chain was interrupted. I did manage to get my must have piece this year, a haunted whiskey distillery, but did miss seeing a full display like years past.
As a worker at Michaels this season, I can confirm that we didn't get some Halloween stuff in until 3 days before the holiday itself. It was sad, but due to delayed shipments that we had no control over.

the bottles with glued in stoppers easily open with a tiny bit of heat. i cleared off the hot glue they used from the inside of the mouth and replaced with an actual wooden cork. and since i'm now on blood pressure meds i put them in it it says "deadly pumpkin potion" i love it and it fits my personality perfectly
I got that same metal skeleton bowl at home goods for $29. I also got another metal bowl with just one skeleton holding it for $24. JoAnne’s pricing on that is insane!
The metal key would be perfect for a protection ward for the home. Would need 1850’s square nails some herbs to bring protection. a few crystals and runes of protection and one for home. Then have your witchy friends create that for you valtaire.
I love Halloween decor at my apt but no room for us. That’s my favorite. My teenager son went with friends to the party. Next day october 31 my son went out with friends again treat & trick. I know you may have not thought about it but I found some wonderful gothy delights at Dollar General ! They had poison bottles and plaques , towels, dishes , and trinkets galore . Just a suggestion. You really create a whole other world with your lighting atmospherics, and you place fluorescent items under the black light to get unique nuances. I saw that double Skelton the other day and thought of gothic home making! Next year get the app there's always 50% off one item! We went to target two weeks ago and Halloween wasn't out yet the boxes were sitting in the aisles unpacked same with micheals!!
I really like you videos and your craft projects have really helped me I've started watching black sails and I remade my old jellelry boxes into kind of dark pirates treasure chests and with old clothing I made those into kind of burlappy fabric with black and red and gold paint to go inside the treasure chests
@@PhoenixsArt Halloween started in EU-Irland, and came back when Harry Potter became poplar. It's still not as big as it is in the US, but was much, much bigger in the past 2 decades than it is since 2019. Usually we get the things in our stores that China could not sell in the US ;)
