My sister isn’t big into ska like I am. However, after being the “the cool older brother” and taking her to see the guys every time the band visits Florida…she brings friends and touts it as possibly the greatest live show she has ever seen.
@@brentonkludt6828 I think I disagree with novelty being the reason now. There's a lot of instrumental songwriting that's allowed to shine here where as the full release blends and smooths out most of them into indistinction. For example, in Point/Counterpoint the demo trombone in the right channel is given space to put some ornamentations and generally plays a solo role from the orchestra which adds to the song's self-deprecating tone as a story about a fuck-up. The orchestration in the full release makes each player in the brass section less prominent, which leaves it to sound like strictly following the melodies given to them, which isn't as thematically resonant as what happens on this demo. But I also prefer brass when it isn't clean.
“The saddest song” is my absolute favorite. May be biased as a sax player for that little jazz soloing at the end, but it’s brilliant. I’ll forever cherish my streetlight tattoo.
@@ocsanik502idk why you say they "fixed that problem" but I definitely still need and use track listings especially with hyperlinks because TH-cam doesn't not give anything of the sort specially on TH-cam music. Have to find these if they exist in comments of any video that has more multiple songs to be able to skip around
The fact I left this here on my girls ,at the time atleast who knows what we are now , and forgot all about it till browsing the comments 7 years later
The sound of the keys on that baritone at the start... amazing

No dislikes, the way every streetlight video should be
Terz 2 years later, still no dislikes

The instruments pop so much better than in the album. Maybe it's the novelty of this mixing, but damn, I love the tone on this.
Always felt the same idk why but it definitely just has a tone they don't capture in the full album
Yeah, everything breaks the wall we are so used to listening to, I think it really is the novelty. But its awesome to hear, its like a fresh listen

Everyone who catalogs and uploads demos - including and especially you! - are truly amazing people. Thanks for the upload
Somethin about the sound of the BariSax key's at the start is just
Amazin
Is it bad that I actually like some of these better than the actual album versions? Especially "Everything Goes Numb" and "We Are The Few".
"00:00" 01 - Everything Went Numb
"02:54" 02 - Point Counterpoint
"06:30" 03 - The Saddest Song
"09:46" 04 - We Are The Few

No longer nessecary, TH-cam fixed that problem.

Agreed. I love the mixing of this. Wow!
Always loved how dramatic the opening horn line came across in this version.
If you didn’t know Tomas does all the song on this literally all the singing even the back vocals
best version there is

Holy shit that opening
Obrigado
Demo?????!!!!! So good. 😌
That beginning to Point/Counterpoint was for sure the one used in the album's song. Guess it made the cut
Please never take this away from me 🥲
