Absolutely awesome! I'm not Canadian, but I grew up 18 miles from Victoria, BC, and coming of age on the north coast of in Washington state in the 1970's, Canadian radio stations were our staple. We spent countless hours in our cars as teenagers listening to the likes of Chilliwack, April Wine, Ian Thomas and all the great Canadian musicians, with Fred Latremouille at CFUN (and CKLG) keeping the party alive through our AM radios. Good times never were so good! That world is gone now, what a shame. But at least I didn't miss it!
Funny, I just mentioned those two radio stations in a post on the Fly by Night performance. Great years. Listening to my transistor radio at night under my pillow.

This is the first time I have ever heard of Taylor James and I instantly became a fan , but I have certainly heard of Bill Henderson. I grew up listening to Chilliwack and it was wonderful getting to see a personal side of Bill in a little different setting over a glass of wine. The interview was very intimate and I think there was a real connection between Taylor and Bill, but let's talk about Fly at Night! The energy of this performance is incredible! Fly at Night is a Canadian Hall of Fame recording and this is without a doubt the best live performance of it I have ever seen! I instantly added this to my list of favourites! Taylor, I am sure to watch this video over and over and over and over again and share it as often as I can.
Pretty amazing how great they sound for any age, nevermind that she is 57 or 58 and he is 75! I aspire to be this cool at any point in my life. Great interview, music and concept for a show. Thanks!
Old comment, but yeah! I grew up with one of the close friends of Bill and she told me many years ago that he was an amazing player. Him and Too Loud were magic together. Both underrated IMHO.
A great interview and a very entertaining full episode as well! It was good to spend some time and "get to know" Bill Henderson. As a youth growing up in the 70s in Pittsburgh, PA, the first song I heard by Chilliwack was "California Girl" (thanks to CKLW from Windsor, Ontario coming in only at night). They quickly became my favorite band and I was pretty much the only one I knew who'd ever even heard of them. I know they had a couple of top 40 hits down here a few years later but it is a CRYING SHAME that this excellent band did not have more success in the states.
