Shiva is the known as mahadev . The lord of the gods 😌 . My father always told me about different stories of Shiva . He being the Supreme lord doesn't live in some kind of fancy palace . He lives in the cremation grounds and leads a simple lifestyle . He protects everyone and acts as a shield and a guru for us 😀🙏

Shiva is known as parameshwara( The Supreme god) pashupati( lord of animals), tripurantaka ( destroyer of the three cities),mahakaal(lord of time and death),Mahadev(The great god), bhairava( the ferocious one) etc.
o.o no the concept of Supreme Soul or Being is PARAMATHMAN / PARABRAHMA / NARAYANA / HARI comes from Vedas, Ramayana, Mahabharatha, Gita. This concept also includes the concept of ATHMAN (Soul). Other Sects like the SHAIVA Sect, SHAKTI Sect, Jain Sect, Buddhist Sect, Sikh Sect, Abrahamic Sect, copied these concepts.
Shiva is also always doing TAPAS, so he has an ARADHYA he worships, which is PARAMATHMAN / NARAYANA / HARI / PARABRAHMA. Narayana does not worship any one. Shiva is also HALF & Parvati is other HALF. o.o So, Shiva is actually part of Narayana, not Narayana / Paramathman himself.

It's wrongly put by the Television that Shiva is God of Destruction, that's just absolutely false.
He is often referred to as Pushupathi (a grandeur companion and a lover of animals).
He is a parallel to Shakti (Energy) who is also his consort.
He is also a progenitor, it's assumed that he is the origin of all godliness and life.
Brahma sure is a God of Progeny but Lord Brahma even has on multiple occasions expressed that Shiva is beyond ultimate.
Yes, Shiva has many avatars which are aggressive, mild, a teacher, a hunter, a wrestler and so on !
Using the term "destroyer" is unfair.
Remember, that life exists even after death that's what I think all major religions believe in though in different terms. But it's only after a volcano 🌋 erupts that the soil around gets even more nutrient rich and fertile.
There are occasions where Shiva has cried and that is very intriguing.
One of his forms is that of a dancer (not sure if that name is Natraja?) He propels art and dance, howal amazing.
Only wish that people celebrate each other's religion and try to bring a normalcy instead of spewing hatred for one another.
I grew up in a house of an agnostic, you can say atheist father, with a religious mother (may her soul rest in peace). But my Mom has taught us to celebrate all festivals and integrated us boys to the outside world, religions, castes, nationalities, it has been such a blessing.
Also, we are proud Sanatanis since it's a gem for us which is pretty different to the Western Christians.
We can be Sanatani and be of any faith and that's how everything is accomplished in our country
But there obviously haters both sides who are sad with lives and want to spew hatred without creating a bridge.

Well I wish I could believe in what you're hoping for but unfortunately religion will always be a battle against itself basically. No one can believe in something and share it with others because then it opens the door for others too also believe in what they believe in. Which will then cause friction because one will immediately fear that they will become the minority if their opposing beliefs do not stay ahead of all others. I believe this is also reflected in the Bible in another unique way, where it reads that no one can believe in two gods for they will love one and hate the other. I think that could also relate to just two opposing religious groups too rather than one person. It would only cause problems, because one person would love their own and they would be convinced to hate the other because they would constantly be in fear of it being more powerful than theirs.

Shiva is called the destroyer not because he destroys everything. He's a kind and benevolent god who shows undivided love towards his zealous devotees. He grants their wishes without knowing their intentions. Some of them turns out to be evil and use their powers for destruction. Since shiva being the nice god accept their mistakes as his own.
Some of his devotees who turned evil are Ravana, Naragasura, Pasphasura etc.
At those times, Vishnu takes different avatar to stop their evil doings became the Saviour god.

@@physics77guy no actually it's symbolic to show that he is omnipotent, omnipresent, pervading in everything. All these stories in hinduism basically all are symbolic and have a symbolic and very very deep and wisdomic meaning behind each and everything.

Kindly don't assosciate Lord kali and Lord shiva to destruction they are the members of the creation trio and are responsible for the origin and activities of life. The form of parvati represents the sacred form of a mother to her children ( us humans) while the kali avatar represents a mother who deserves the rights to punish her children for their wrong deeds as she has given birth to them.

Shiva is also beyond gender. In one of his forms, he is half man and half woman. It also symbolises that an individual who has half feminine and half masculine nature is considered as perfect man. Shiva is also the most masculine man you can ever see. He is a badass, kind, innocent at the same time. He can fierce and benevolent. He can act as a destroyer, creator and sustainer. Though he have the aspect of destruction, he is also an epitome of peace as he is the lord of yoga/meditation.

@Remix God imagine portraying Kratos/Zeus as Mario. Thats basically what Record of Ragnarok did. The Shiva smite trailer is the probably the closest depiction (most accurate) of Shiva by a foreigner.
