Kentucky didn't play their typical game and it was still a 2 point game with about 2 seconds left until we had to foul to stop the clock. Oweh missed two wide open threes on that last possession. And I really was frustrated with the refs not calling Clemson on their physical play but Kentucky couldn't get away with anything. All things considered....if a couple of shots had gone in, if we had made a couple more free throws, that game could have gone our way. But there is some work to do. This team has to gel more and really learn how to consistently play Pope's offense. I think Brea was benched because he was just getting defended so hard he couldn't get open.
@@BobbyAndrews-ep6vxcoaching had nothing to do with it. Only thing id bitch about was the terrible rotation and subbing. Kentucky was playing 4 on 5 and basically looked like they were choosing to…
i think i might be the only clemson basketball fan who follows this account, so i appreciate the flowers you finally gave our guys. UK is a great team and i think brownell coached a defensive masterclass. go tigers 🐅
Lamont actually looked amazing and I’m so mad about the fouls. It was a physical game but before it got that way they gave garbage calls against him and he couldn’t play half the game. In a grinding game, he has to be in the court. I think without fouls he would’ve had over 30 minutes which would make the difference. Garrison sucked balls. Kerr sucked balls. Carr sucked balls. Koby wasn’t playing for some reason. Otega missed open threes at the end which made us miss our chance late game. We shot 60% from the line and 20 something from three. I’m not worried based on this game about anything other than the drop off from butler to Kerr and Amari to garrison. And Amari stopping his crazy dribbling.
Ainsley Almonor isn’t the most talented but he’s solid and you know what you’re gonna get from him, I would’ve liked it if we played more small ball with A.A at the 4.
I believe this was a needed loss, bringing us back down to earth before the Gonzaga game. UK just had a bad game on the road in a volatile arena. 100% BBN, I have hope in Pope!!!
Clemson was crazy physical in that game, and they were fouling like crazy yet every time UK would touch anybody it was a whistle. You could tell that the Kentucky players was getting frustrated with them not getting calls. Instead they should have played and kept on without looking at the refs every single time they were bumped. Lamont Butler whenever he wasn't on the floor Clemson would make a run, and Idk why Kobe Brea wasn't on the floor in the last minutes either. And how about how clutch Lamont Butler is, he made an extremely clutch 3 in this game, which ultimately wasn't enough, but man he shows up for big moments like that. There is a reason Clemson hasn't lost a home game in non conference on five years, and they were an elite 8 team last season. With only one loss, idk why Clemson isn't ranked TBH
@@johnnycorn7225and played 36 minutes. Must be nice to be able to do what ever you want down low and not get called for anything. Their 3 biggest minute guys all over 30 minutes had a combined 3 fouls. Truly amazing.
So Kentucky should panic if they go out west and lose to Gonzaga? Make it make sense. In turn does Gonzaga hit the panic button if they lose at home to UK? I think they can’t get any worse with their analysts but they continue to surprise.
When you go on the road and it's a raucous environment and refs are allowing zero freedom of movement you have to hit your open threes and free throws to win. UK didn't do that and lost. Butler being in foul trouble the whole game was the key to the game. Kriisa had about the worst box score you can have as a back up point guard and unfortunately looked worse on the TV. Every road SEC game will be like this. Gotta figure out a way to score when the opponent is allowed to armbar and tackle and grab on every possession. Hopefully they go 13-25 from three vs Gonzaga and make front end one & ones!
As a die hard it’s just a disappointment because the open 3s missed the free throws. How any the 2 shots Jaxson made at the basket that were and 1 but didn’t get the call but Lamont clearly just rips a guy and they call it his 3rd foul and that was huge. Guys will learn how to play together and trust each other but Amari always has some bad turnovers and he backs dudes down from the 3 point line then gets stripped. This is a learning experience and I think this team is much better than they have been playing not just against Clemson but WKU and Georgia State. Need to get more one on ones for Carr. I understand you guys don’t like Carr but he scored In double digits like 28 games last season
There shouldnt be much a change in opinion on the team. They were preseason 30ish from most analysts, went very quick to number 4 after a duke win that couldve/shouldve been a loss. UK should sit 15-25 all year and be solid. As a kentucky fan I hope other fans can be patient and give the team some wiggle room and not act like we expected to be top 5 after a crazy offseason. Robinson and Kerr have been a little disappointing but should come around, or they wont, and Brea can get more time. Lost a winnable game on bad shooting, that'll happen a few more times this year. Seems like a game that doesn't tell you much about the team. Shoot well, defend and give more effort. UK didn't do any so they lost, it's not like alarm bells should ring. Even assuming they will lose to Gonzaga, shouldn't really change the feel of the team. Kentucky will be experienced and ready for March.
Definitely not concerned. Brea got elbowed in the head early in the second half. Flagrant wasnt called and pope kept him out til the very end .. do yall even watch the games! Oweh had 3 wide open 3s. At the end.
Instantly to start the second half, the zebras are so Fing predictable. The Duke treatment- your two best players will always get two quick ones to start, and another in second half first possession
Dude Lamont had no more than 3 fouls and his ankle was fine… Kerr playing 20+ minutes while going scoreless was some of the craziest and frustrating things I’ve ever seen on tv… that’s unacceptable. If you keep butler in the game towards the end, Kentucky scrapes away the win. Period.
@@isaiahevans001 Dude, take at least 2 seconds to google the box score before making a ridiculous comment. Butler had 4 fouls and the timing of those fouls hurt. 2 early in the game and 1 early in the second half, I don't remember when the 4th one happened. That limited his minutes in the game, because Pope didn't want to foul him out. Also, he was on the floor at the end of the game. He hit the last 3 with around 1 second left. If you saw him roll his ankle and think it was fine, then you have never rolled your ankle before. That is painful to play on and he gutted through it. did you even watch the whole game?? Based on your comment, I will go with no you didn't.
@ if his ankle was hurt he would’ve never came back to the game bro wtf🤣🤣🤣 and no he didn’t play a lot in the second half which yea I guess was because of the foul trouble and maybe lookin at the ankle but 20+ mins of no contribution from Kerr? You would’ve been better off just havin butler in and just playin off the ball. I watched the entire game and one sub was all that was really needs to pull that dub out!!
@ WTF?!? Maybe you would quit if you got hurt, but true athletes don’t. 🤣🤣 have you never played through an injury? Or worked while injured if you never played sports? Athletes play with injuries everyday, but it limits them like it did him. But I do agree we need another option, other than Kerr. My point is just that Pope had to play Kerr, he didn’t play him just because he wanted to.
Why do these guys always overreact to everything? Before the season, Kentucky is not even a top 25 team. Couple weeks in and Kentucky shows to be better than expected now these guys claim Kentucky is a top 5 team and I know they were ranked there but doesn’t mean anything. Kentucky loses one game on the road to a pretty good Clemson team and now this Kentucky has to be watched as if they aren’t good anymore? It’s just not Kentucky, they damn near do this with every team they talk about
You can tell these guys don’t even watch the games they talk about. They look at the box score and that’s all they try and analyze. Do better. How lazy to talk about a subject and do no work on it.
Robinson should be coming off the bench. Hes too soft. So is brea. Bottom line is amari Williams got out worked in the paint. Uk had a bad game coming. Missed too many fts. You dont watch bball if you didnt see this coming
ngl i was questioning why pope wouldn’t put brea in either granted they were kinda locking him up but he’s our best difficult shot taker if someone’s closing out i want brea taking the shot and kerr took up way to many minutes from lamont as bad as i hate to say it it’s kinda on coach pope but it’s his first mistake of the season so i’m gonna give it a pass just because of what he did against duke

We would’ve won with Lamont. Kerr was awful and Lamont had a great game in the limited time he played.
They had the refs on their side and we had poor shooting again...
Poor Coaching

I don’t believe them when they said they watched the game.
I agree though running a screen for Otega to shoot a 3 is crazy I’m ok with him shooting it but running a play for him to shoot a 3 is just crazy
