    The Devil Survivor games I feel have some of the best rereleases in the series, meaningfully expanding on their base games without feeling intrusive. It also helps that you have the option to choose whether or not to engage with the extra content.

      If I'm not mistaken you don't absolutely have to engage with the extra content in P3P, P4G and P5R either. Like in P3P, the female campaign is entirely separate, in P4G just don't interact with Marie as much as possible, and in P5 don't interact with Yoshizawa and/or Maruki.

      @@toddhowze7273 Persona 4 Golden has an insane amount of new cutscenes even without Maria. It negatively affects the pace in an already mammoth game. Also, with all the new Personas in Aeon and Joker archetypes, you'd be missing out on combat options, and ignoring them would leave you without much use for all the extra days and activities added in.

    I think re release of P2EP is another good example of a port done well enough by Atlus, even though it wasn't officially localized. Unlike its predecessors the P1 re release which is as contentious as ever, and the the P2IS re release which dumbed down the difficulty to a hilarious degree, P2EPP struck a good balance. On top of that the addition of Tatsuya's Scenario fits into the game quite well and doesn't clash with the themes or the feeling over the story at all; and in fact adds onto it. I think had P2EPP been localized it would be viewed similarly to P5R as being a good re release of a game. Of course you can still look at the PSX version of EP as the best version and there is no doubt a charm to it but I don't believe the debate over which version of EP is definitive is as contentious as say the debates over P1, P2IS, and P3's different versions. The debate over P2EP is more subjective while there are more objective differences with the P1, P2IS, and P3 versions to be argued over.

    • @leatherhoff45
      @leatherhoff45 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Basically my exact thoughts, even if I don't really mind Innocent Sin PSP's difficulty. I've seen people argue over the comparisons between the PSX and PSP tracks from Persona 2, but I think you can't deny that they're mostly faithful and true to the original work, which is the main backlash I see over Persona 1 PSP. EP PSP also just objectively fixed a lot of issues from IS PSP, like the UI being unreadable sometimes (red text background looked weird, but was hard to read text during certain scenes), simpler combat, and better controls/options. Shame it wasn't officially translated, and it took a fan translation for that.
      Also, EP PSP introduced the best track to this entire series, Additional Boss Battle.

    • @OldEnemy1
      @OldEnemy1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with this. The only issue I have is we shouldn’t gotten this version earlier lol like 10 years earlier. I also think the Soul Hackers 3DS version is another re-release I don’t find any issues with. Although that’s probably because it doesn’t have any new story content unlike most of them though

    • @OldEnemy1
      @OldEnemy1 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      When it comes to the Persona 2 games it’s clear what the definitive version for each one is. The original PlayStation version of Persona 2 Innocent Sin is the best version to play.(The system makes it clear it’s based around auto-battling and you can intervene at any time during battle. The menus are easier to navigate and just lets you directly choose a party member’s actions. While you could argue it’s not that much harder than the remaster and while I do agree I prefer easy over a dull and boring gameplay experience any day. There’s also no unnecessary censorship) The PSP Re-release of Eternal Punishment is the definitive way to play the game in my eyes. Adds the needed QOL improvements while also keeping true to the original source material and vision. It’s not reinterpretation of the game for modern persona fans; it’s simply a remake in the purest sense.(No censorship,no missing sound effects,keeping true to the combat system of the original game,and doesn’t reduce the difficulty.) The additional scenarios are completely detached from the main plot. It’s not like Persona 4 Golden or Strange Journey Redux where there are still scenes in the main plot where have to encounter with the new character/content. The new content is completely isolated from the rest of the game and you can choose whether or not to engage with it. As you mentioned, The PSOne version is still playable but the remaster is a improvement in almost every facet and is the ideal to play this amazing JRPG. For Persona 1, there’s currently a group reintranslating Revelations Persona as well as bringing back the SQQ which was previously inaccessible in that version. I say retranslate but they’re basically inserting the psp translation into the game. There’s also someone doing an all new translation for the Japanese PS1 version. It’s funny how the fanbase has done more with these games than the company has. The only issue I have with the ps1 version is the lack of QOL updates. The random encounters take forever due to how long and drawn out the animations are although I do like the sprite work. In dungeons you just walk rather than running like in the PSP version but all of this can be easily fixed by overclocking the game.

    • @matteste
      @matteste ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Certainly helps that they brought back the original writer for the game to write the new scenario to make sure it fit with the game.

    While it’s great to have a remaster rerelease for many of these games I find it troubling that they don’t allow us to have simple access to the older versions. In situations like P5R and Devil Survivor Overclocked the rerelease is better in nearly every conceivable way, but you’ll have something like Nocturne or Redux.
    You mentioned fan translations and I’m very glad that these exist, especially in the case of Eternal Punishment’s PSP port. One example of a port that excels beyond the original but unfortunately we had to rely on fans and not Atlus themselves lol.

      i hate in general how everything has to try to be this big revenue stream now.
      pointless dlc: like locking already completed content behind day 1 dlc that could have been easly release with the game.
      what's the point of not letting all of your customers fusion into mara or other demons in soul hackers 2? or the dumb exp, gold booster dlc stuff for smtV?(also the demi fiend stuff could have been a really cool and cute way to honor nocturne instead of just being this obvious attempt at milking more cash from people that lack self control.)
      constant milking of any game that made a big splash as well as the suprise shown by higher ups when the dumb dancing spin-off doesn't ship as many copies as the main RPG title is also pretty stupid.

    SMT IV port would be greatly appreciated, though I think my number one concern is whether or not they'd modify the Smirk and Partner systems to be more like Apocalypse's. On the one hand, I think it would just lead to an objectively better gameplay experience to remove the major issues Smirk had in IV and guarantee that Walter won't Agi the Minotaur. On the other hand, I'm worried that taking elements of Apocalypse opens the floodgates for them to change all sorts of things, including the aforementioned issue of shoehorning in new characters for the story and post-humorously invalidating the endings of the original. Would the way St works be changed? Would spells get to crit as well now? What happens to all of the demon designs from the original's guest-artists? It's a whole can of worms of QoL vs respecting design-intention.
    Still, if it means the DLC bosses of the original are actually worked into the game instead of leaving major story-events and end-game challenges behind a pay-wall, that would go a long way in making the game feel complete in a newly accessible state.

    And notice there's often a YOUNG, SEXY, FEMALE character added for the EXTRA DOUBLE PLUS true ending? And many of the added scenes are wish fulfillment, wiki-filling lore dumps, or anime hijinks? I played both OG Strange Journey and Redux and while Alex is an awful character who does almost nothing and most of her interactions are on the womb of grief (which is a garbage dungeon that doesn't understand why the original dungeons were good in the first place, and thought that adding huge rooms with a thousand teleporters and moving floor was the best idea. Only saving grace were the bosses)
    Redux was the first game where I got chaos (the new one) on my first playthrough it felt great and it was the first time I agreed with chaos, instead of the vague endings the original had, the new sub-apps are great for veterans and newcomers alike, Omen Bug, Doctor Magus and even Marco Polo although I feel like Eridanus is best played without knowing where the hidden gats are and using crab walk instead. Also Shekinah is a thousand times better than Mem Aleph, she's harder, her battle makes you use items a lot, use commander skills and constantly switch demons to defeat her while her second rewards using Demon-Coop a lot. In the original SJ we have Mem Aleph making you grind 15 levels just to get a team that can survive the first turn, which is once again easier on Redux even without DLC, also being able to switch Sub-Apps anytime instead of going to a terminal and not being locked to to just 10 for the entire game feels great

The extra dungeon it's true that it doesn't have the charm of the ones of the main game but I can see that each floor has a main theme, and if you not like the dungeon is complety optional, but it gave me a purpose when I encoutered a hard boss like Ouroboros, so instead of grinding for levels I went there. Devil survivor overclocked has really good new story content, seeing the actual consequences of your actions and the new days play after seeing the original endings so you don’t really miss out on the original content either, I haven’t played naoto’s route but I thought amanes 8th day was great. I haven’t ds 2’s Triangulum arc though, only the main campaign for record breaker, but you don’t miss out on anything the original had, and you even get voice acting. But also for p4g, while I haven’t played vanilla p4, i don’t mind the new scenes at all since I think they’re harmless, even Marie, I didn’t do her content on my first play-through and while I don’t like her I just think she’s just there. Like she doesn’t make me think anything different for the story. When it comes to the new scenes like the concert and beach, I didn’t know they were new at the time and they’re kind of just apart of persona 4 to me. Still I kind of get what you mean about the original experiences being lost in these versions. I like to recommend p3 fes first since I think you miss a ton of details in portable. With that said I think the rereleases can offer a new experience that feels similar enough to the original while still being unique. I’ve also only played strange journey redux, and while I haven’t played the new story content, but I still felt very engaged while just going for the original neutral ending. But it’s the one game where I want to at least try the original, probably after my current playthrough of redux since I at least want to see the new content first. I hope what I’m saying makes sense. I know it’s a little rambly, but from what I can tell for the most part the new content is either decent or harmless, at least from my perspective.

    Worth noting P4AU's problems were because it was too faithful to the original PS3/360 versions, rather than anything they did to fuck it up further. The game at this point has gotten its promised rollback netcode update and is fine in terms of overall player activity. While it's unfortunate that the game at launch wasn't as good as it could have been and it took people practically demanding Atlus implement better netcode for it to happen (and not even at launch), at this point I'm just happy it's playable with good netcode at all, especially since interest in the game competitively is the highest it has been in years.

      Devil Survivor and Radiant Historia have "definitive versions" that change the art, the music and the story. Everyone that plays a game doesn't want to be forced to listen to voice acting. Especially poor voice acting, tho different people have different opinions on whether english voice acting is quality or not.
      In Radiant Historia for the 3DS, you have the option of the old art style. Pay Atlus and you can have an art style with character. At the end of the day, you can prefer a more generic anime style art to the original's deliberate style. But forcing a customer to pay extra for less is not cool. That's without adding in the new ending that changes the story themes for the worse.
      I played P4G but not P4, but it is pretty obvious how the new stuff is jammed on top of the old. With P4G and P5, the game clearly lets you know that you "failed" if you don't follow the new storylines to their new endings. A bad ending is hardly "choosing" when it comes to control of a games story. Most people will want the best ending in a Persona game and thus they have to engage with the new content. Cut rate Cloud and a "madman" who never actually did anything wrong are hardly improvements to the story.
      Admittedly P5R has the best combat the Persona games have ever seen and most of the new content ranges from excellent to acceptable. The pros outweigh the cons, so while I personally think P5 is a better way to get into Persona than P5R, everyone getting access to the best combat and quality of life improvements Atlus have ever done is a positive thing for everyone.

It's about fighting to preserve what Atlus stands for.

    To be honest, I think I agree with a lot of your points though there are a few things worth noting. Firstly, Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 were made in render engine which if they wanted to remaster and re-release those games they'd have to give EA a 15% cut of the profits on top of the cut they have to give the Digital Storefront they're releasing and there's no real reason to do that. On the topic of the quality of those remasters you're right it's a mixed bag in Persona 3's case we have 2 different versions of the game that if combined probably would be the best version but FES is boggled down by restrictive gameplay mechanics and Portable suffers from the less immersive design of the VN novel style at this stage only a remake could really fix both. In Persona 4's case though, no, not even close Golden is the better version of the game I get the intent of Marie was to essentially add to the lore of P4's extremely underwhelming end bosses who were completely overshadowed by the main characters in the story thanks to their total lack of presence though I will admit if Marie had more story presence outside of her social link she'd probably be one of the best characters in the game.
    In regards to Persona 4 Arena and Ultimax, this game int a major problem you can't introduce a concept like Persona Avengers and then completely ignore the Phantom Thieves, Psychotic Breakdowns, Mental Shutdowns & Changes of Heart nationwide without making the cast of P3 and P4 look either excessively apathetic or incompetent. P5 kind of highlights that "living your life as best you can" doesn't do shit when God's like Yaldabaoth and EMMA can rise through the cracks and gain control of the masses on such a large scale. And don't get even get me started on the fact they left Sho on the loose for no real reason. Frankly I don't care if the game has good action based gameplay, it's a Persona game and the story is what needs to deliver.
    As for Persona 5 Royal PC, while it is the definitive version of the game I honestly wouldn't recommend for those double dipping right away, simply for the fact that you got your copy for free, and Persona 5 Royal has a habit of getting discounted fairly frequently on PS4 and without the physical memorabillia I don't see any reason you'd be incentivised to pay full price for it unless your playing it for the first time.

  • @DeadYorick

    The reason why SMT Nocturne feels different on PC has more to do with the era it released in. At the time SMT Nocturne released Japan had a culture around deleting source codes after the game shipped to prevent industrial espionage. (Employees just taking the source code and giving it to a rival company). This is why a lot of games from this era when they get re-released it turns out their engine had to get completely replaced. Final Fantasy 7 and 8 avoided this because they were ported to PC by Eidos in the 1990s, but Final Fantasy 9 had to be remade in Unity. SMT Nocturne is no different as it had to be ported to Unity. Persona 4 Golden meanwhile was on the PS Vita which ran an ARM CPU. Which is much more well understood and was a more modern system so it most likely didn't take that long to port to PC.
    There are also other considerations made in this respect that make porting to a new engine the only option. Since the architecture the game was developed for was distinct. Like when Final Fantasy 7 was ported to PC by Eidos in the 1990s they ran into an issue that the way the game processed sound and switched between battles and the overworld straight up didn't work on PC. As the original FF7 programmers developed the game around the PS1's hardware and built something like 7 distinct game engines for the battle screen, overworld, the various minigames etc. Which all had to be merged into 1 when it was ported to PC. The PS2 had a hard to emulate RISC CPU in it. So if the game was developed that far back it's very likely it would take years longer to port the original build compared to just remaking in Unity. And in terms of budget it's either "Unity port or nothing" since you don't get to just waste that much money just in payroll on employees just to make the game slightly more faithful for returning players.
    This isn't an issue specific to Atlus. This is an issue with an enormous amount of Japanese games from this era and why they either don't come to newer platforms at all, come as just emulated versions or have setbacks. The developers of the Silent Hill 2/3 HD versions ran into the issue that Konami didn't even keep the source code to either game's final build. They had to work off of a beta build and Konami wasn't willing to give them more development time to fix all of the bugs. So on-top of porting the game to newer hardware they had to fix bugs that were already fixed by the original developers.
    Western developers historically tended to save source code better since culturally they had a culture around licensing technology to competitors and outsourcing development to other studios. So it was just handy to save copies. They also had the benefit of building a lot of their games for PC. And coincidentally all of the modern consoles run x86 processors. So it just works better in their favor when they release a remaster.

    • @DeadYorick
      @DeadYorick ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@rockapartie It wasn't just that it was also developers at this time in Japan rarely distinguished the game engine from game logic. The US had a culture of licensing tech to devs. Like a lot of devs licensed the Quake engine from Id Software despite being direct competitors. Whereas in Japan that wasn't much of a thing.
      Because of this a lot of the time they would just build the new game on-top of the old game. You can especially see it if you look internally as you'll often see things like assets or code left in from an older project.
      Western developers did also lose source code but it was mostly by accident. Like Bethesda infamously lost the source code to Daggerfall for 2 reasons. 1. They changed offices between Daggerfall and Morrowind's development. And 2. Morrowind's development was such a huge clusterfuck that devs kept leaving the project so nobody kept track of old files like that.
      A lot of the time with western developers they do keep the source code but it ends up being unusable anyway. Like Naughty Dog actually kept the source code to Crash Bandicoot but the team behind the remake didn't use it because it was all in assembly code and would've taken way too long to work with.

    I would like to note that some of the re-releases that seem to be best-liked by the community do, in my opinion, also deviate substantially from the original creative vision for their respective games.
    For example, I do not consider the new villain of P5R to be in line with the main theme grouping the original villains, that being "powerful men who are held above consequences by society". That isn't to say that the new villain doesn't challenge the Phantom Thieves in a very good and fitting way. However, the game does become significantly less politically charged in the new final arc, as the new villain's plan is more philosophically challenging.
    Similarly, Devil Survivor Overclocked Day 8 content deviates pretty sharply from the set-ups of each route's Day 7 ending, which is particularly notable since you actually must view the Day 7 endings before proceeding to override them on Day 8. Of particular note is Naoya's route, which basically removes all ambiguity from the character and all negative consequences from picking his route.
    Just about the only bit of story content in Royal where you can't tell "yeah, this is new" without really knowing the original game is the Akechi confidant chain. Meanwhile, the new Phantom Thief is integrated with next to no subtlety, to the point of shoving her into the opening sequence for what is ultimately no real reason other than to show her off.
    I can't say that Atlus really handled it that diffirently with these cases. They just succeeded in these few instances while failing in many others.

      As someone that loved P5 Vanilla, Royal straight made me question if I even liked P5, bacause as much as I had to say about multiple parts of Vanilla, especially storywise, I still throughly enjoyed my way through it and only enjoy it more and more with each replay.
      But I was not enjoying Royal, it did not even feel like the same game as Vanilla, which as much as Golden messed up the story with Marie and combat balancing, it still felt like P4 just with a bunch of pointless extra stuff.
      I is very dissapointing that the version of P5 I like it's probably going to rot on the PS3 and PS4 just like FES does on the PS2

    I just want to say, I figure you probably didn't want to get into the topic of mods on this video, but the only reason I'm considering picking up P3P and P5R is for the modding potential on PC. Seeing what they've been able to do with P4G makes me pretty sure that the PC releases are gonna be well worth the money once the modders have had some time with them.
    P4G, in just a little over two years since the PC release, has seen so much love in the modding scene. There's mods that cover just about anything you might want to change: graphics, music, bug fixes, quality of life upgrades, expanded content (ports of Persona/Demon models from other games to be used as additional Personas), reworked difficulty, big total mechanical overhauls that give you basically an entirely new take on a Persona-style combat system, and a crapton of meme mods. You can fine-tune and hone in on the experience you want from any given playthrough, making the game infinitely more replayable than before. If nothing else, even people who want as unmodded an experience as possible would still benefit from bug fixes and maybe graphics mods.
    P5R's only been out barely over a week and already has over 50 mods on gamebanana. Mostly texture, model, and music swaps, but some gameplay things as well, including rebalancing the DLC Personas to make them less ridiculous, and allowing you to choose which parts of the DLC box you want to redeem (or taking either the DLC Personas and/or the DLC box away entirely if you'd rather). Also some minor QoL tweaks like being able to save anywhere. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the Raidou DLC gets packed in a mod, if it hasn't been already, as well as probably eventually being able to do something about Denuvo, and at that point, with a mod or three, P5R on PC *is* the definitive version. And that doesn't get into what the modding scene is going to look like in two years, after having allowed the time for some bigger mod projects to be completed.
    P3P? Already has mods for the PSP version: you can port over the higher quality FES models, add back in the missing cutscenes, backport the portrait bustups from P4AU, there's a work in progress to port in the P3D models. And there's even been some rough test work done on bringing back the 3D environments, there's videos of both the school entrance and Paulownia Mall in a buggy, but roam-able state (including interacting with a store in the mall). And that's all made for the PSP version, even if emulated it's still probably limited in potential. I'd expect the upcoming Steam release to be easier to design mods for, and it's not ridiculous to imagine a time in a few years when you can mod the PC release of P3P and functionally turn it into FES, with full 3D, all cutscenes, and The Answer, but with FeMC and full party control too. In other words, the most ideal definitive version a fan could ask for. And then you can go on to replace Koromaru with the shrine fox from P4 because somebody will certainly have decided to make that mod and it sounds like a good goofy time. Or make all the characters wear "Get Smoked" hats. Whatever, go wild.
    tl;dr: Mods are awesome, and the PC versions are worth a rebuy for that alone. Might take some time, but they'll get there.

Atlus isn't "invalidating" their older releases, that's a lot of intention to just assume on the part of a massive corp. Not to mention that there could be numerous, unknowable reasons behind Atlus choosing to re-release one version of a game over another. It's silly to just assume that they do this because there's some underlying desire to like, erase the older better game or whatever. Definitely agree with how Atlus' remakes tend to add content that does not match at all. This stands out terribly in the Persona 3 and Persona 4 remakes considering that these games operate heavily on themes that integrate with the narrative. For example, Persona 4 is a who-dun-it set in an isolated backwater town and a lot of the characters' story arcs revolve around how they relate to this environment. P4G detracts from this isolation by letting you go on day trips to Iwatodai city to increase social links, and even giving everyone mopeds kinda gives the main cast too much freedom.

    I believe there is one remaster that a lot of people seem to overlook when discussing Atlus Remasters and it is Nocturne’s, not HD but Maniax. I get that most of the world only experienced Maniax however it is still a remaster that does many things that people dislike about other Atlus remasters like adding on content that wasn’t there and alters the perceptions of the og endings and adding a new dungeon. Also remember that the Old Man was not in the original and everything with him was new content. TDE alters the game by essentially implying that this is the definitive ending and the other endings are wrong. Freedom is now an incorrect ending which to me alters the original conceit of the game. I just find it interesting how Nocturne did alot of the things that people accuse modern remasters of doing yet people seem to turn a check when discussing. Perhaps the new content was implemented better on Nocturne, The Old Man is not nearly as bad as Alex, maybe people prefer the new ending, and Amal’s is an interesting dungeon. I just feel that Nocturne Maniax should be included in the discussion as it does do alot of the things games like Redux do. Another reason for this could also just be that most people only know about Maniax and not the vanilla Nocturne. I am curious on how people who started with vanilla Nocturne felt about Maniax if it was the preferred version or if it too spawned controversy on if it strayed too much from the original.

Persona 3 portable made persona 3 portable I mean that's just amazing within itself and persona 4 Golden was on vida so the portability was just awesome on the oled screen so in my opinion you do have a point because there's more to re-releasing the game than just new story content. When it comes to Persona, I usually don't even bother with the enhanced versions, since I've never been a fan of the extra story content that they provide. One of the things that I appreciate about P3FES is that it kept its new story completly separated from the old one, letting me enjoy the vanilla game with new QoL improvements, without tinkering with the story. I played The Answer once and that was enough for me to never touch it again. I'm giving P5R a shot (it's on Game Pass, so I might as well), and I enjoy some of the new things, like the little calls your confidants give you before entering LeBlanc and the general QoL stuff, but whenever Kasumi or Maruki show up, I have this feeling of "There's a pefectly functional version of this same story in which you do not exist, why are you here?" I know I'm in the minority on this, but I would much rather have versions of vanilla P4 and P5 with expanded events involving existing characters instead of new characters and story. I think SMT IV just needs a gameplay aproximation to IV: Apocalipse: skill afinity, smirk less unpredictable, companions with a better AI and late game being a challenge and not a megidola/phys AOE spam.

    Great video as always! I can’t wait to see what you say about Strange Journey. I played the Redux version and I thought it was a pretty solid game. I don’t know what your opinion on it is but I can’t wait to find out! You should review the Devil Survivor games. I heard Overclocked is really good but I have yet to play it. Good luck on your future projects!

    I want to mention that the PC Port of P5R does not play well on all systems. My 3070 struggled to run the game at all, until I installed something called dxvk which fully solved the problem. It makes the game run with Vulkan instead of DX. If you are struggling with the game, go download that until Atlus patches it one day.

      DXVK is a godsend. Could only hit about 130FPS on Persona 4 Golden with an RTX 2060 because of a bad DirectX 11 implementation. DXVK balloons the framerate to almost 300 and there's no stutter anymore

      @@ExtraordinaryFate By default P4G has a pretty bad motion blur that just leaves ghosting across the screen as the player moves. There's no way to disable it but its power decreases the higher your FPS is. At 300FPS, the blur is removed entirely

    I haven't played the Persona series before but my friends are huge fans of it and really want me to play P5
    I can't wait to try out Persona 5 on Switch, I really want to play it at school and I don't like being stuck to a TV lol, especially for long games.

    A lot of people dislike Marie and the answer which is fair....I personally dislike the change to Chies voice actor in p4 og...I also did not like Kasumi in p5, she seems way too much like self insert I felt, seemingly with more priority the game shows than the original story friends

    • @Jardrin

      Honestly, I found Marie better implemented than Kasumi. Does that make her implementation and character good? not at all, but Marie felt like she added a little bit of context to the final boss of P4 while Kasumi really don't have any importance at all. Sure, there is the whole thing about her in the 3rd semester, but I feel you could have done the 3rd semester without her and it really wouldn't have changed much.
      Sucks because I do like Kasumi as a character, but she really should have been a new character in a new title than slapped into P5.

      imo her new voice adds a great energy to the character, plus her old voice made her sound like a middle-aged woman rather than the high schooler she is.

    Atlus have never acted as if P3P was the definitive edition of Persona 3. If they did, they wouldn't keep pretending Hamuko doesn't exist.

    About P5R: While I agree on the next gen upgrade for PS users, having P5R buyers (even those who bought all DLC) buy the game again for $80 is just a bad joke. But imma be completely honest, $60 for P5R on PC is completely justified, as at the time of its release Royal was just 2.5 years old and the most recent entry in the series. Objectively speaking the game is worth $60, this isn't a 10 year old Vita re-release like P4G, but a borderline AAA game, charging new players full price just makes sense. Sure I would have liked for it to be cheaper but looking at HowLong2Beat you get your bang for the buck.
