You dont need 4k, 3k or even Peter Kay, you two and Cornwall are the stars of these well filmed, well produced films. That you enjoy making them is all that matters and i for one thank you for that.

We enjoy your videos and thank you for producing them. This one about books is especially enjoyable and pleased that you popped inside the church. Just so you know - the ‘porch’ you sheltered under is actually a ‘lych gate’. Found this in a guide book on churches “The term lych evolved from the Saxon word for corpse, and the lych gate was traditionally a place where corpse bearers carried the body of a deceased person and laid it on a communal bier. The priest would then carry out the first part of a burial ceremony under the shelter of the lych gate roof”.

I noticed the illustrator of the large blue book with the silvery illustration on the front was C. Napier Hemy. Charles Napier Hemy was a very famous marine illustrator of the 19th century. His grand daughter was Margaret Powell, who bought Trewoofe, St Buryan, my Harvey family cottage, sold in the 1930s. It was nearly derelict and Margaret & her husband did a wonderful job restoring the home and uncovering a fascinating story of it's past. The stone portals that were part of the original manor house were found in a garden in St Ives, Margaret found them and bought them, and had them installed in the doorway of the cottage. She was a wonderful woman, extremely talented, and I was very privileged to have known her.

Here on the other side of the world, I'm just happy to see you two on Saturday mornings, tramping through darling towns, smuggler's hideaways, beach trails, and fields full of flowers and sheep. Your "patter" is so engaging, and I adore your books, with the comparisons of now vs. then photos, and odd little stories. Others who may be local or will visit soon can benefit from the specifics you include, and I still find them interesting. (There is the odd chance I may be going to Devon next year, and I'd have come see you all before heading over to my cousins in W. Sussex!) Those books are terrific! The one from the Railway with the color prints! Wow! Such a find. Years ago I bought a 1902 Baedeker's Guide to London, with the fold out map. Such drastic changes after two world wars. More recently I found an 1889 travel book about South America in a shed while helping my Mother-in-law to move from the family farm. Just so fascinating. I think a drone would change the friendly, up-close vibe, where we feel like we're there with you. Andrew, you do know that unlike your darling doggies, a drone won't come when you call it. :)

I am so delighted by your book findings and the history you fill in. I can se no reason to use a fortune on new cameras and computer just to make 4k videos. Your videos are really detailed and sharp on my 14 years old 42 inches plasma TV and on the computer screen. I love watching the walks and scenery and to get the lovely stories and research from the olden days. I guess parking will be useful to some, but not to me who are mostly walking the coastal paths 🙂 It is such a shame that the old train lines are gone, but I have had the pleasure of cycling the Camel trail a couple of times though 🙂 I myself often take a look on Tripadvisor if I am making hotel reservations. I think the reviews can be a good indicator of quality. About whistling: My very religious paternal grandmother told us not to whistle, for then we would invoke the devil. So we refrained from whistling when we visited them, just to not scare her 🙂❤ Have you considered to have one higher tier option on your Patreon memberships, or perhaps to give us the opportunity to "buy you a coffee" now and then online? Another great video...I used to be a fine art photographer and spent a lot of time in Cornwall back in the 80s and 90s working with artists, galleries and publisher's photographing works of art...I would love it if you could do more videos about the artists

We are keen on the art societies that were in Cornwall but our knowledge is only skin deep. We have been researching more about the diversity and extent of the Lamorna colony recently and hope to go back after the peak summer season to explore a bit more, find the cottages and the vistas they painted. Q’s book reminds me of another book written by Sven Berlin, a St Ives artist , I think in the 1950’s, who also included ill disguised locals in his book The Dark Monarch. Many people felt that they recognised themselves and they successfully got the book banned and it only became in print again relatively recently. I’m determined to read it at some point.

Hiya, I find the information about how to park and likely costs plus space available are really helpful. If you could include facts about toilets and cafes that would be great. You are really inspirational and I have already done some of your walks.
Letting us know how much your patreon costs would also help.
You do a fabulous job and it is the 'homemade' nature of your videos that appeals, which does not require hideously expensive equipment. Some folks get too hung up on the technical rather than the content imo. Thank you.

    • @CornishWalkingTrails

We agree that it's not the equipment, more about how you use it that's important! I don't think anyone really wants to see themselves in 4K definition!! He! He! Sarah :)

Just really like your natural style of videos including the quality you achieve, because it really feels as if one is there, right there with you on a natural, ordinary day out around different places in Cornwall - and I just wonder if the atmosphere you achieve might be lost with some expensive upgrade of supposedly more 'sophisticated' equipment - and personally I've kinda gone off viewing lots of drone footage (on other channels) because I just want to have that feeling of being there, on the ground, with all my senses, and I think you guys achieve that. I wouldn't want to see your video style change too much. You achieve a feeling of actually 'being there' on a day out for the viewer. In my humble opinion 🌞🐬

Don't listen to the tech geeks Guys. This is a very professional (amateur) channel, and all the better for all that.
Of course cost has to be a big consideration....you are not sponsored by Cornish tourism - maybe you should be!, But then again, you might lose your independence and unbiased view.
Cornwall has much to thank you for.
For my part, having been visiting the county since childhood (so **!!@@ A lot of years!), I continue to learn more and more about this fascination place through your channel, which then enriches my time there. So personally, I cant thank you enough.
I understand the need to mash things up a bit to increase views (this all has to be paid for somehow - you are not a registered charity). But don't lose the original appeal of your product in the first place.
I just keep hoping to bump into you whilst on holiday, shake your hand and stand you a Lunch.

Hi guys, shame about the liquid sunshine foiling your plans. I personally don't mind this change of format, as you are still entertaining and informing ,albeit in a different way. Perhaps a mix of walk and feature videos to keep the channel fresh ? Sarah, did the person who asked for the best pasty in Cornwall give a name? can you be sure that it's not Andrew under an alias?🤔

4K don't bother it is not worth it. I love to see the scenery and you 4k is only for morons who want to count the blades of grass. The improvement is not worth the bother. As to what type of video do I prefer, it is anything you put out, they are all great. The best pasties I have ever had were from the butchers in Hayle, we took about 20 home to put in the freezer.
