@@FutureKingx To watch a guy unpacking mints and pouring soda during 20 minutes, you actually need to have the brain of a goldfish, not its attention span.
This video doesn’t add up. Putting coke in mentos crests an instant reaction, they don’t float for a bit and then react. The foam created here is fine and floats. The foam from coke and mentos flows like liquid and splashes when it lands. The only reason the foam shoots from a coke bottle is that the narrowing of the neck acts like a nozzle. It might overflow the tank, but it wouldn’t float up into the air. The coke mentos reaction is not exothermic, but this foam is clearly hot, as it’s steaming. There is more here than they’re telling us.
It's because they didn't purely use coke and mentos, some people in the comments said that they used some sort of dishsoap and mothballs and such, and the black stuff in the big container in the first vid was also said to not be coke
This is actually fake. try looking slowly the frames before reactions happen. they're making a totally different reaction that doesn't involve mentos and coke, and editing the mentos in. 5:30 12:37 20:50
Those larger bottles are more likely some kind of a grape drink or colored water with some kind of soap or cleaner in it. The color of it splashed against the white board on the second large bottle was a bit purple and the foaming was from the first bottle did not look much like carbonation, rather it looked like soapy water or some kind of chemical cleaner. Interesting results by adding the dish soap, but with the steam, I could be totally wrong but I'm suspecting their is something more to this.
Clever, but You missed the fact that we can slow the video down... at 0.25x video speed, there is a clear split-screen effect, of which means that this is not in fact how Mentos and coke react. Elephant's toothpaste is a foamy substance caused by the rapid decomposition of hydrogen peroxide using potassium iodide or yeast and warm water as a catalyst.
The foam is actually caused by mixing hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, and potassium iodide. However, it's an exothermic reaction that will cause 2nd and 3rd degree burns if you're not careful.
@@edgargad2941 they probably drank the cold and to do the video they used Kool aid to replace it. Half these Mentos/coke videos don't do anything anyway.
2:00 most of the Co2 which is mainly responsible for the reaction is no longer available, because you have filled the Coke in the high arc. I can hardly imagine that there will be a big reaction/boom
@@zeirz0762 bro why u use the word facts in front of fake. that makes it more confusing. also just to point out, even if the Co2 is still there, it wont make a big reaction
They made what's known as "elephant toothpaste". They disguised it as a mentos and coke experiment. Most of their videos are falsely advertised and contains extra ingredients.
@@reubenlockyer yeah they're NOT Mentos. They are like Orbeez, but probably balls of some other chemical, possibly a compound. I think it takes Co2 and some sort of hydrogen mix...peroxide with other stuff? I forget the exact recipe for the elephant toothpaste. but soda is mostly water so the extra ingredients in the soda plus Mentos won't be an issue when they use soda as the catalyst for the foam burst.
I think I get it? All the prep work is for the color effect. So the last bottle (probably carbonated sugar water), that he puts in the balloon, combined with the oil (or more likely corn syrup) makes up the catalyst?
It was edited, see how that twitter logo looks flat, and his shadow disappears on the edges, and when he pops the balloon the liquid disappears and doesn't fall on the ground
Yeah, it looks like dark colored water, or like others said grape Kool aid? Idk. Coca cola does not come in gallon plastic jugs, biggest size would be the 2lt. Kinda strange to do that, and glue labels.
I don't think the liquid on the water jugs labeled as coca cola is actually coca cola. It foams up like soap and it's black not brown and you can't see through the stream as it is being poured like regular coke. What is it?
Pretty sure in the big containers they mix together a combination of water, food colouring (to suit which drink they're using) and dish soap to provoke more foaming in the explosion, you can kind of tell when they pour it by it bubbling instead of fizzing.
@@GHOSTVAPOR The reactive ingredients are a combination of hydrogen peroxide with small amounts of dish soap and then either yeast as the reactant for a mild explosion and mild exothermic reactions or potassium iodide for a violent and extreme exothermic reactions (if you go the potassium iodide route be aware to use proper PPE or you will sustain 2nd and 3rd degree burns as temps will exceed 100C/200F/300K).
So weird to go through all that trouble for a clearly fake video. Especially because he could just show what he actually did and it was still look awesome. Lol
Should have had the mentos all ready unwrapped, giving you more co2 to work with. Plus, by pre-opening the sodas for a cleaner video OP, you degassed them even more.
No clickbait, just title bait. He claims he's doing mentos and coke, but what he's actually doing behind the scenes is elephant toothpaste. There is steam in the air-light foam he's creating here because the chemicals he's mixing together every time he cuts the video are creating HEAT in their chemical reaction. Mentos foam is wet and heavy. This is not. It's clickbait.
Video editing. No more, no less. At a slow speed, it can be seen that the reaction starts from the very bottom, while mentos and other floats at the top. Видеомонтаж. Не больше не меньше. На замедленной скорости видно, что реакция начинается от самого дна, тогда как ментосы и прочее плавает наверху.
I think you stirred the liquid from the bottles a lot when you poured it into the aquarium, thus dispersing so much of the Co2 gas that could have interacted more in the reaction with the menthos

What is the perfect ratio. I mean: is one mentos pill enough for maximum reaction of 1 Liter Cola? Does 2 mentos pills do a huge difference? Could the result become better if the mentos were crushed into a powder first?
The perfect ratio between Coke and Mentos does not matter. What you see here a completely different and very dangerous reaction, nicknamed "elephant toothpaste"
@@MirkoC407 ah i thought the coke mentos reaktion just looks similar to elephant toothpaste because of the dish soap. But i am sure that i already saw people trowing mentos in bottles and putting their mouth over it.
@@frateradamanteus Coke and Mentos you can drink. It is a simple degassing reaction and works best not from the amount of mentos but from the shape of the bottle. Ideal would be one wide in the bottom and getting constantly narrower to the top, like an Erlenmeyer flask. Also the candy should have a pretty rough surface. But any bottle shape will give you some serious pressure fueling from 1 or 2 Mentos - above 1 litre I'd suggest two candies. Most dangerously on putting your mouth over a bottle of pure coke with a mentos in it will be that you might choke from the foam and get some of it in the lungs, which can also possibly lethal if things go very wrong. But for sure Coke and Mentos won't poison you. What comes out is a lot of gas with some coke around it. The Mentos is just the catalyst to release the solved gas.
Five and a half minutes for the prep, for 10 seconds of action. Wow. I guess you could have padded the video a little more by showing you going into the store and purchasing the Mentos.
For anyone who thinks this is real, it isn’t. The chemical reaction that is happening here is not the same as what would actually happen. Firstly, the foam is not bright yellow and does not steam as it shouldn’t be an exothermic reaction. Secondly, whilst real mentos and real coke are used in *some* parts of the experiment, it appears that most of the reaction is due to unknown chemicals disguised as coke and mentos. The two big bottles of ‘coke’ are actually a different chemical and you can notice how when they pour it it is black, unlike the brown coke. The real coke is covered up with this chemical and therefore the foam is fine and just floats on top. When they add the mentos, real mentos are used. You can see when some of them spill into the ‘coke’ below they don’t react, where if it was real coke, they would have. Finally, the big bottle of mentos is the second chemical that really causes the reaction with the coke as you can see they look different and are more round. This IS a cool reaction but the channel is obviously using the ‘coke and mento’ template to get views. I feel like this was unnecessary as they would probably get a better response with a real reaction. Thanks for listening to my TED talk. (But seriously guys, this is fake)

@@MirkoC407 and how does this guy in the video makes elephant toothpaste with Soft drinks and mentos? i am confused.
Only in the USA you can get such big ass bottles of coke. God bless Murrica
Ok. But can you buy Russian cement bags in Murrica? @ 13:52 min.
@@drijfkip1 russian? The backside of the back says "Mix Master"
Bro. I have a life to get to. Do we really have to watch you open every pack of mentos?
코카콜라랑 맨토스 매출은 유투브에서 책임지는듯.. 이런영상 무지 많던데... 쓰는양도 어마어마함
Adorei esse vídeo
That's clearly not coke, when he poured it, the bubbles looked like soap. Coke bubbles are a light brown and look more fizzy..
Five and a half minutes for the prep, for 10 seconds of action. Wow. I guess you could have padded the video a little more by showing you going into the store and purchasing the Mentos.
Woww amazing 👍😳
Buen vídeo
Proves that neither one of these products should ever be ingested 😂
