Why antidepressants/Antipsychotic action shown by drug when homologation is occure in ethyl chain

As in histamine ethyl chain occurred so the H1 antihistamine should proceed with same. If you increase the length of chain this produce pharmacophore required for binding to mus-
carinic as well as adrenergic and serotonergic receptors too more than histamine receptor so showed sedation and antidepressants action
