Hope this guy Darren gets the justice for his shot down drone. He is an incredible man to use his equipment and go out there and search especially being disabled and with his health! Thank you Sir!! ❤️🙏 prayers for this man and for Monkey and his family! I pray he is found 🙏💙🙏💙🙏💙

      I will say this with regards to search efforts on the cases I’ve worked. There are more resources than are mentioned on the news and even social media.
      I’ve never been mentioned (nor my company) publicly nor do I want to. A case is solely about the victim/s, their family and trying to get them reunited as soon as possible.
      I just wanted to point that out.

      I can still fly, but my cameras go haywire sometimes and at times I have to do an emergency landing due to GPS errors or other critical failures (this is after DJI replaced most of the interior and it doesn’t throw any error codes until it fails - sounds odd I know).
      My sensors are screwed as well so the drone won’t avoid objects and will fly into things if I let it (which can be hard to achieve when it’s 1,400ft away from you and you have to operate it through visual line of sight).

    If I were him, I would take it to Civil court if the police aren’t gonna do anything. He could just represent himself. He sounds pretty intelligent and explains things well.

    • @auminer3959
      @auminer3959 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If I were to represent myself I would have to file the paperwork and pay the court fees. After a judgment in my favor, the judge would order the land owner to pay me (which he wouldn’t).
      After months and months of complaints to the court and a few more trips in front of a judge, a lien would finally be placed on the guy (think of child support and how people are still able to dodge that).
      I’ve spoken to a few lawyers and they won’t touch this because in the end the cost of going as far as I just explained cost more than the drone and there’s still no guarantee that the guy will pay.

      I appreciate the sentiment and thought but I even talked to my visual observer for that day and he was in agreement with me. The only one that should have to pay anything is the landowner who shot the drone.
      Even if it’s just him being prosecuted. Because it’s not that it hindered just this case, but cases across the nation have been disrupted in a similar manner and it needs to be stopped before it becomes an even larger issue.

      We use the Matrice 210 as the primary, a Mavic 2 Pro as a secondary, but also have a DJI Spark (just in case and is a trainer drone) and a Tello (which is a very cheap drone and a toy for most, but can get into confined spaces).

    I think this is a very good man that has volunteered his time worked with the police
    Listen to what JLR HAS BROUGHT FORWARD!!. I feel a statement that I am going to bring forth is extremely important. Darren has worked with different people in different countries helping for a long time to find missing people. Although some of us for certain reasons can’t go out to look for different missing cases. But we all sincerely care!. As well I know that we all appreciate people like Darren that work with different police departments and fire 🔥 and rescue departments in trying to help find missing children and people. We also know with them calling him, that he has been vetted!. We need caring people like Darren to look for that little boy Micheal that has gone missing. By listening to Darren, I can tell he has been trained and looking for missing people for sometime. You know there was no reason for that man shooting down his aircraft. Clearly he was paranoid and hidden something. I know the people who watch this channel care about summer as well as other missing cases of children and woman and men that goes missing and I know that you would all agreed that there are to many cases that are coming forward. Different cases, we can help with , the best way we can!. Darren has worked on many cases, he has built his reputation among different police departments and when the police departments in different countries get ahold of a certain section of 🔥 and rescue departments they then by word of mouth have gotten to known Darren and through out time has asked Darren for help. Not only because of his knowledge in search 👀 🔦 and rescue and been vetted but because of the special person he is. Him being loving, caring and passionate about these missing cases with children, women and boys, as well as men . Because it’s clear Darren has been trained to help locate in missing person cases. But because Darren cared so much about the situation . He cared as we do!. That Darren out of his own pocket bought a special type of drone, that not only can cover a vast section but it can film in the darkness and that’s very important as well, Darren’s drone takes all information logs it allowing the special unit for missing person at the police department to see, find and look for unusual activity or action. Including dirt dug up that shouldn’t be, tire 🛞 tracks so much more. That drone and Darren time is needed. That man that shoot down his drone never 👎 should of happened. Makes me wonder what was that man hiding. I am not saying bye was a bad man 👨 but he could of taken a minute and asked Darren why is he flying the drone that was not even over his property. God gave Darren a calling and he was good enough that police departments and fire and rescue departments called upon him. The Bible makes it clear . For we wrestle not against flesh and blood 🩸 but against principalities , against powers rulers of darkness of this world. Against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12 KIV BIBLE. I don’t know what got this man to shoot down a drone that helps fine missing people. But he said’s he needs half the money to fix it up. Maybe JLR can run a collection plate and everyone donated a little bit till we can help him fix his drone, so he can get back and help the rescue 🛟 team.👨❤️🕊🙏 it’s all a good cause. Maybe JLR can over see it and when it hits the amount the man needs, then we have in our way contribute in helping to find missing people. What do you guys think.🙂🕊❤️🙏

    Most states have laws against anyone shooting in the air.

    • @auminer3959
      @auminer3959 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      There’s a Federal Statue against it. Title 18 U.S.C. 32 section 17 (destruction of aircraft). Punishable by a fine and/or up to 20 years in a Federal prison.
      The reason why it’s so stiff is because while there are hundreds of makes, models, sizes and shapes of flying vehicles (both manned and unmanned), they are all considered “aircraft”.
      A lot of people that want to shoot them down for whatever reason can’t grasp that. They also can’t grasp that once the drone is uncontrollable to the operator based on their actions, it’s their (the shooters) responsibility for any damage that may ensue (lithium ion batteries causing a wildfire or house fire, injury to a person, etc.).

      Though it wasn’t for a search and rescue and it started as a voluntary effort. I was told to bill afterwards as the City PD I was helping were billing a business and recouping costs.
      Other than that, outside of 2 or 3 tanks of diesel from my Dept. literally everything I’ve done has been out of pocket.
      My family and I didn’t start the business/organization to get rich or profit. We started it because we saw a huge gap in rural areas where technology was severely lacking and we wanted to help fill that gap.

    I dislike misinformation, especially when it can get people into hot water. Others don’t seem to care, but I do.
    Hope this puts a stop to any confusion that the persons post may have caused.

    Bet when he found out the costs he wish he hadn't... That's not criminal but civil, correct? Common courtesy, especially because it is so dang expensive, you would have given him a heads up.

      Nope, it’s criminal according to Title 18 U.S.C. 32 section 17 (destruction of aircraft). Punishable by a fine and/or up to 20 years in a Federal prison.
      A LEAP officer (Law Enforcement Agency Program - which is designed to aid local jurisdictions and are assigned by region) said this would be better handled at the County level. So it was kicked back to the prosecutor.
      Even in the County though, destruction of private property over $1,000 is a criminal offense.

    Can your insurance pay you and they go afterj his insurance, or are drones uninsurable!

      Homeowners insurance doesn’t cover criminal activity, so his insurance won’t cover it. The insurance that covered me paid me a portion, but the drone was repaired the best it could be (it fly’s, the cameras work *most of the time*, I get GPS errors, sensors won’t avoid objects and will collide with them if I allow it *though a repair shop had it fly away and crash on them* and I get critical errors from time to time).
      None of my gear is forward compatible,so it is what it is. 6 sets of batteries at $1,000 a pair, a $700 drop system, $1,500 infield battery charger, etc.
      Again, I just want the prosecutor to press the charges we wanted pressed.
