Paprika u pavlaci | Spicy Serbian appetizer with spicy peppers

  • Easy and delicious spicy appetizer from only four ingredients. Paprika u pavlaci is a traditional Serbian appetizer with spicy peppers.

    Ingredients:
    500 g spicy Somborka peppers
    500 g sour cream
    250 g feta cheese
    Salt
    Instructions:
    For the recipe, you can use Somborka peppers or another spicy type. Cut the stems of the peppers, making an opening. Remove the seeds from the peppers. Salt them from the inside and use your finger to spread the salt everywhere. Place the peppers upright in a tray with the opening facing down. The salt will get the excess water out of them. Cover them with a towel and leave for 24 hours. When the time is up, there will be water in the tray. Shake the water out of the peppers. Cut them into large pieces. Crush the feta cheese in a bowl. Add the sour cream and ½ tsp salt. Mix well. Add the chopped peppers. Stir again. Cover the bowl with kitchen foil and leave it in the fridge. For the best taste, it should stay in the fridge for several days.
