Yes! I learnt about that island yesterday when I saw 2 guys going there with their hovercraft at low tide. You might know them. They saw a lot of bones, in pkaces below water level! Even jaw bones with teeth in them, one of the jaws was a child's, and a broken skull. I feel so sorry for what they went through back in the day.
Tanya Alberts unfortunately I don’t know the guys on the hover craft, although I have seen them out and would love a go on one some day! You definitely see a lot more at low tide. Yes very sad for those buried there. Things are tough right now but we are still very lucky compared to folk of the past.
I caught up on some history now that we are locked down in South Africa, and yes, we are better off today compared to them. But thank you for the video! I love learning about other places thanks to you explorers on TH-cam!!
Trupti Saf no unfortunately not, you need a dinghy to access it, I wouldn’t consider it a good choice for a picnic. Unfortunately we don’t really have any islands that are good for picnics but there are plenty of nice parks nearby.
Cool video guys 👍 low tide is definitely the time to go for bone hunting, especially around the coastline.
The drone footage fitted in well 👍😊
Thanks mate. Yeah completely agree but still fun to explore at high water, particularly from a paddlers perspective. Thanks again for the footage!
@@sailingsummerbreeze yeah it did look fun I still want to walk around it at low tide just to see what I find.
Your welcome 😊
Omg when you first got on the island you walked past a bone and small scull , Iv screen shot it 👍
Yes I think I saw! Creepy! 😱
haha just stumbled upon this as im taking my cruiser there soon, go rickiiiiii!
Rob Freer haha thanks mate! Looking forward to seeing how your adventures unfold. Drop me a line if you need any advice getting there 😉
At 10:12 in the video you scanned over the pile of shells and there was a bone clearly visible.
Tanya Alberts YES you are right! Good spot. I hadn’t noticed that before. Hmm bit grim isn’t it.

Trupti Saf thanks for the comment. Not Canadian, British 😬
@@sailingsummerbreeze Iwant to ask you a question CAN WE GO ON DEADMAN'S ISLAND FOR A PICNIC OR FOR A TOUR?

@@sailingsummerbreeze ok thank you very much
@truptisaf7939 Lmao😂.... you want to go for picnic on a abandoned island
Apparently the island is consecrated ground and no visitors allowed.
Keith H good to know for future 👍 we weren’t there long. Many have visited in the past though. Lots of videos on TH-cam.
