So excited for this N3V! In the Frequently Asked Questions, I saw that there won't be shadows for the Android version. Even for high end android phones? Would it be possible to make another version for Android with all out graphics, including shadows, like for iOS?
Quoting Tony Hilliam from the Trainz Discord server:
"Not possible with our current tech.
In short, GLES doesn't support geometry shaders or rendering to 2D texture arrays.
It's not impossible but would need to have GLES specific code to render each shadow cascade one at a time (and therefore performance hungry)"

This would be good, but it needs route builder and multiplayer and from what I’ve heard it does not have that
There are already a lot of train driving games but the reason I downloaded trainz 2 and the reason it’s unique is because of that route building aspect, opening up a whole new aspect to the game and much more to do
Definitely, it's been over 8 months still no news about surveyor, hope they add it on 1st anniversary i.e 17 August.

The phone version might not support shadows. It said in the FAQ at the website. (Link in desc.)
@@rifkyfahrana1141 couldn't find that piece of info, thanks for letting me know. I believe it depends on phone hardware. Would a Samsung S10E have any issues?
@@parrotyee Hi! I know this comment is a bit old, but apparently the Android version as a whole regardless of device will not support shadows which is weird since most phones would've been able to handle it just fine.
I suspect N3V games has some sort of bias against Android as a platform since Trainz Simulator 2 never came to Android and we were stuck with the crappy TS2009 port and that god awful Trainz Driver game since now.
@@PolarDog I guess it's to do with the fact they can't support every Android version and platform, whereas iOS versions are much more sophisticated and are easier to update since it's one company with one lineup.

@@Andrea-oc3cl if it is in Google play store but it is in pre-registration. Also it says that it is not compatible. I don't know if N3VGames Will fix that problem and make the Game compatible with all Android device when it launches on August 18.

Oh i absolutely cannot wait for the release , you have no idea how long i have been waiting for you to put Trainz back on the Google Play store i missed playing it so much. I had custom built maps of my own and everything and by you removing the simulator it really upset me because i love real life trains.

I'm very excited for this. Last time i heard it was just a port of T:ANE, but what i heard was wrong! great to see TRS19 being ported to mobile. I loved TD2, it lasted me for over 5 years.

80s Mercedes, it's a tank without cannon. I've driven several ones of them, very good, powerful and smooth. Their inline 6 engine is a master piece. I am a 90s too, in a 94 Chevy Suburban, but since my model start its production in 88, I think it's okay to call it an 80s.

Trainz Simulator is coming out August 18. You can pre order it right now but it cost $7.99. The free trains you can drive are the CSX GP-38 & a “ROCKY MOUNTAINEER” and a GR Australian Freight train the OG. Good news. There will be 20+ routes, 54+ freight cars and passenger trains to haul.
Y’know… I’m looking forward to this version! I mean… The content I’ve seen… a BR Blue Duchess (Kudos to you, N3V!), 60163 Tornado (I suppose it’s a consolation for the ol’ Scotsman from TS2) and several others look awesome! And I have set my pre order to express how enthusiastic I feel toward railway simulation games and to express my love of trains in general! (Hmmm… I wonder how many British steam locomotives will be added over the game cycle… we just have to wait and see.)
My guess is over 200 British locos over the next few years (all going to plan).
