    Geat video guys. You should definitely check out more TOOL songs !! TOOL fans love watching people experiencing this music for the first time. Low-key, we're jealous we can't hear TOOL for the first time again, but we also love seeing people getting excited about the genius that TOOL is, from top to bottom and from side to side. I love that he brought up Christopher Nolan, he is one my favorite Directors and I think of Tool’s music in the same way. Both know how to create moments of tension an realization extremely well along with having epic climaxes to their work. Adam Jones the guitarist of Tool, explained in an interview that he uses his guitar similar to that of a film, creating a atmosphere like experience. Their Song Pushit show cases this. For me it feels like a short movie with its builds, changes and epic finale. A Masterpiece. You should react to both their live and studio version of Pushit

    The music itself is divided in two as well. You can count to 11 to get back to the 1 or you count 6 and then 5 to get back to the 1 or the beginning of the riff, essentially dividing the riff into an uneven pattern thus when dividing giving more to one side than the other gets. This was cool to me when I figured it out

    From an atheist perspective, it could be pointing out the absurdity of there being angels watching at all, and that we're all just animals responding to our primal upbringings. And as far as their writing goes, music comes first, lyrics come second. So while they intended to music to sound like that, the singer/lyricist took that piece and added the meaning (he's kinda good (they all are)). The part i love most about this song, is that while the lyrics are about our inability to get along, the piece itself is impossible to perform without an epic level of coordination within the band. To me it says, 'yeah, we can't always get along, but when we do, we can create things like this.'

    Very thoughtful review. The things that he picked up were very on point and I think he may enjoy finding out how Tool approaches the making of a song. How they make the music first, and then Maynard adds lyrics. Since the song is finished, he definitely is intentional when the lyrics musically align as well. He should also know that Maynard definitely sees his voice as the final instrument in the band. He's not just another singer who is out in the front, these guys are a complete unit. Fabulous rich in detail critique - your reaction pointed out new details that I hadn’t thought of. Thank you for that.
    They consider the voice as 1 of the instruments and therefor not always front facing, leader of the song.
    Looking forward to your next Tool reaction.

    You mentioned "with intention", There is a song called "Intention" that literally is the lead in to this song, "Right in Two". They are meant to be listened to together.

  • @heatheral-hammadi3046
    @heatheral-hammadi3046 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I think Right in Two means that if you take something and it is whole, and supposed to be whole, and works better whole, why can’t we all share this pure thing whole. We would rather cut something in half so we can each have our own piece even with the knowledge that it doesn’t work as well when it’s in two pieces.

      @SatanDynastyKiller 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope. Get a better DAC, a decent set of headphones, and stop repeating millenials version of the lyrics that they have read on some youtube lyrics vid, which is wrong. Original lyrics are gotta divide it all in two (gotta also shows agency of monkey, cut it would mean Maynard was repeating the action through the lyrics cut it divide it, being that cutting something or dividing it gives same outcome. Makes no sense for such a skilled writer) - I have heard it live many years ago, several times - GOttA DEE VIIDE IT ALL IN TWOOOO….

    many folks say this song is disparaging towards humans... but, while yes, we can be ...um... decisive...
    this song is from the angel's pov... you know... those chumps that don't have a choice in anything. seems like someone is jealous that they can't fight over everything for no reason, just because you can.

      @@GaffneyInkwell sorry for the confusing reply. I thought I was talking to Bryan lol.
      Jimmy from the Aenima album is also another touching song about his realtionship with his mother. Jimmy being the name she called him as a child. Maynard is in fact not his real first name.
      Then of course there's the songs Opiate and Prison Sex which deal with a very troubling experience he had as a child.
