Honestly, this objection would be like saying reports of the Spanish riding on horses in the 1500s in central america must be false since there were no horses domesticated widely by the natives of that area by that time.
I find this same thought pattern by Christians, when showing them the Bible is 100% a motionless flat Earth book and all natural science validates those biblical claims.
@@JesusIsaFlatEarther IP made a video about flat earth in the Bible, it’s in his Cultural Context series. He also talked about flat earth during his life Q&A.
How would you know, were you born then, how do you know nobody domesticate the horse, This is stupid thinking, the natives would have known well how powerful a horse could be, if they used donkeys, then they could use a horse , Even wild horses would not be hard to tame if you got a young one, a foal or a yearling, do you truely believe some lad at that time never found a young foal that had lost its mother, and reared it, he then could have harnessed it's power very reasonably for anything he wanted whither it was field work or to carry him about. When I was 6 or 7 years old I went out and caught a baby rabbit and tamed him. He was my pet, My father later let it go and bought me a pet white rabbit. See what I mean, and those lads would be no different at that time, than today. Off course there would have been camels some wild some tame if you were in Morocco or Tun esia today you would see herds of wild camels roaming the deserts, but round them up and in a short time you can take them, when you get them young enough. Look at Mounty Roberts, he tamed and rode a wild mustang in one day. Off course there were camel trains, and horses in the early days, Greeting from Northern Ireland.
This is why I always tell people who say the Bible is “fiction” to go and read about the history of the ancient near East. Just doing that has reaffirmed my faith more than it is dismissed it, since there is more evidence to prove the accuracy of the Bible than there is dismissing it.
I’d actually recommend reading some of the translated tablets to get a feeling for how commonplace the writing style seen in the Bible was in the region.

Camels are more useful for long journeys through dry areas compared to other domesticated animals. Nomads, like the patriarchs, would have found more use for them than settlers who rarely travel. Therefore, it makes sense that the remains of domesticated camels might be harder to find in settlements.

Study also the Council of Chalcedon and the Chalcedonian Creed, and why the consensus of the early Church was to defend both the full divinity _and_ the full humanity of Jesus Christ. If you believe the Bible, and if you strive prayerfully to study it with as little preconceived bias as possible, then you cannot help but to come away holding either the canonical diaphysite (1 person with 2 natures [divine and human]) or (not canonical but still non-heretical) miaphysite (1 person with one nature [the two natures of divinity and humanity becoming one in his person]) views of Jesus Christ, the incarnate Logos of God. I believe in the Bible because it talks about stuff that we or scientists didn’t know about before. The Bible talks about the rain cycle Job 36:27,28 the human embryo in Psalm 139:16 and how earth is suspending upon nothing Job 26:7 a lot of this was just discovered or explained by scientists not too long ago and the Bible talks about all this from way back.
The rain cycle is obvious through observation. Human embryos leave the womb early all the time. Earth being suspended on nothing is neither scientific nor a statement of fact. Everything you listed would be obvious to people 1000s of years ago, probably more so then than now. Your fallacy is thinking that science is a recent invention. The practice of observation, measurement and prediction predates any religion; a puddle of water left in the sun all day will disapear. Rain will fall from the sky. Heck, it wouldnt be long before, through science, we figured out the size of the planet, the fact that it is a globe, and the fact that things orbit.

Also, I don't get how these guys think that finding some bones in the desert and then radiocarbon dating them proves anything. How do they know they got the oldest known bones that ever existed in the area rather than just some bones that existed sometime later on? Bones completely decay 100% all the time. When the Titanic sank, an 11 year old girl fell off the deck and landed in the smaller rescue boats. She hit her head and it killed her. They buried her in a church grave with a very thick brass belt buckle. 50 years later they dug up the body to do some DNA testing on it to see who the girl was. When they dug her up, they found a small clump of hair, a small tooth I think, and only a small fragment of the brass belt buckle that had been almost totally corroded away. They couldn't even find bits of the wood from the coffin. So if they could barely find evidence of a girl after 50 years, what makes them think they found the oldest known camel that ever died in that area thousands of years ago?

I'll add to that: Outside of the Mediterranean coast, Canaan is hill country, with lots of water sources, especially in those early times. Horses, mules, camels, and especially chariots and wagons, would be more of a hinderance than a help. _(Most roads would be only the width of 1 or 2 people. Not an autobahn in sight.)_ A sure footed donkey, if you can't walk, or have too much to carry. Otherwise, you get your backpack, and walk everywhere. Dromedary camels are thought to have come from Arabia. Bactrian camels and horses from central Asia. In all three cases, they can only be in limited supply, anywhere in the Fertile Crescent of that time. That makes them extremely expensive. Just to do a ballpark figure, to show it in our modern terms, but unlike us, with an average but adjusted income of $10,000. _(Almost everyone did self subsistence farming, and earned very little cash.)_ A camel would cost around $500,000. A mule about $750,000. And a horse, you might not get for under $1,500,000! A donkey on the other hand, would be about $10,000. An ox maybe the same. Only wealthy Bedouin merchants could own and keep camels. You had to be someone like Egypt, Assyria, or Babylon to have horses, cavalry and chariots. Finding camel bones, from the early bronze age, in empty Negev, is just pure luck. _(Most likely not far from Eilat to boot.)_ More likely wandered away from a traveling Bedouin merchant _(like Abraham),_ using the Trans-Sinai route between the east side of the Jordan valley & Egypt. _(No one traveled the Negev back then, and Bedouin were rare there. If you went from Canaan to Egypt, you went along the Mediterranean coast... the short route. Or you took the trans-Sinai... the long route.)_

IP have you heard Cyrus H. Gordon's arguments why Sumerian Ur isn't the same as Ur of the Chaldees? One funny example is that if Gen 11:31 is true and Abraham was in our Sumerian Ur, then Haran would be way too far out of the way for him to travel through Haran to Canaan. (source: his article "Where Is Abraham’s Ur?") Gordon argues Abraham's Ur is a lot closer to Haran.
If you think about it, it's extremely difficult to claim something didn't exist long time ago somewhere. To prove that something did exist, you only need to show one instance of it existing, but to prove it didn't exist... it's actually impossible, the best you can say is that there is no proof or no reason to believe it did.

Also we need a video about Pharos using iron wheels before Iron Age . I think it is just a language progress of using the word iron for solid metal . What do you think?
Another sound refutation of reasons to doubt the Bible. Keep it up IP. What is so weird about Abraham bringing camels with him from Sumer and Egypt to Canaan, people bring things from their land to new lands all the time.
One thing is that people of the bronze age and iron age recorded history different. They add embellishment and literary element to make theological points, the accuracy of the story isn't important. Such as in moses on thing is how to treat others. “You shall not wrong a stranger or oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt." -Exodus 22:21
This video is very well done. My major concern is that people, both Christians and nonbelievers, treat the Bible, to quote Biblical scholar Dr. Daniel Wallace, as "a 20th century history book" instead of what it was: the story of how God works through the lives of his people and, ultimately, saves them. By which I mean: not every detail is 100% accurate or correct but the meaning/context of everything written in the Bible IS.

I guess I should be grateful as a Muslim that we don’t face such accusations lol, cause in our tradition, Abraham and his son Ishmael were already riding camels whilst being in Arabia (specifically, the Hejaz region).

And do _not_ read it from a sectarian translation like the Jehovah's Witness New World Translation. You quoted from the Revised Standard Version, so use that.
After that, find a non-Catholic (i.e., without the _filioque_ ) translation of the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed. Read it, study its history (the First Council of Nicea and the First Council of Constantinople), the arguments on both sides, and discover _why_ the consensus of the early Church _defended_ (it did not invent) the full divinity of Jesus Christ, and the doctrine of the Trinity as a whole.
He puzzles me. He seems like a smart guy but in one of his other videos he said that if the earth stopped rotating everyone would be thrown 1,000 miles an hour in one direction. So if a supernatural being can stop the earth from rotating, could said being not do a second supernatural act and keep everything in place as it stops? I'm not saying whether this was a literal event or something poetic, but his argument doesn't fit.
The video includes links to references in the description. The very first reference is s link to this article from the Journal of the Institute of Archaeology of Tel Aviv University. Did you actually read the article? What we have here is common Christian apologetics where articles are sited but when you actually go and read the article you find the apologist claims the article says the exact opposite of what the article actually says. Even the abstract states “The new evidence indicates that the first significant appearance of camels in the Aravah Valley was not earlier than the last third of the 10th century BCE”

The Ripinsky “The Camel in Dynastic Egypt” doesn’t actually show domestication only that the Egyptians were aware that camels existed.

As for that camel hair rope.
“Caton-Thompson (1934) found a cord of camel hair, about 3 ft. long in the gypsum works of Um-es-Sawan in Fayum. Was it the girdle of a laborer, or perhaps of an immigrant or slave who had come from Arabia? Or does it indicate that camels were used in the gypsum mines? A re-examination of the cord has, however, revealed that the fibers came from sheep (Mindant-Reynes and Braunstein- Silvester, 1977).
“
So it has been known since 1977 that it was sheep hair rope.

“The Domesticated Camel in the Second Millennium: Evidence from Alalakh and Ugarit” article linked should have a question mark at the end so that it would follow Betteridge’s Law of Headlines where the answer is “No”. The original copyist of the Alalakh tablet wrote down “camel” where the word is “stag” or deer which were known to be kept captive in gardens. Again, this is an article they linked to and reports the opposite of what they claim.

Did this video show that a few people in the region knew of camels? Yes. Did this video give any evidence that camels were domesticated in Egypt or the Levant prior to the 10th century BCE? NO! It is heavily documented through art, writing, and archaeological dating of bones that camels were NOT bred and used as beasts of burden in the region prior to the first millennium.
Did you watch the video?
@@misterauctor7353 Yes I did. I think I made it clear in my comments that only I watched the video but went and took the time to read a number of the references in the description. Did you go and read any of the references? Give me your top three timestamps in this video where you think it was conclusively shown that camels were used as beasts of burden in the Southern Levant and Egypt before 1000 BCE. After that period, extensive camel bones are found along the trade routes and at the copper mines. Before, there are none. Why is that?
While you at it, how about showing the existence of Israelites before the Bronze Age Collapse, and after that they were anything other than minor settlements that nobody paid any attention to until around 930 BCE.
@@oscargordon Question. Do you know that Abraham wasn't from Israel?
@@misterauctor7353 So that was your response to my request for archaeological evidence for the existence of the characters or group of people know as Hebrews or Israelites in the Bible stories prior to the 10th century BCE? Just like you don't have any camel bones associated with humans in the Levant or Egypt, do you have any settlements or artifacts that can be attributed to the Hebrews/Israelites from the Bible stories prior to the 10th century BCE?
Did you know Israel wasn't a place until 1948?
The terms Hebrews and Hebrew people are mostly taken as synonymous with the Semitic-speaking Israelites, especially in the pre-monarchic period when they were still nomadic.

Well, this is why I love this channel.
There are 3 questions on the Bible about it's reliability.
The camels, Samuel being summoned and The kings of the Bible having many spouses.
You answered one of them.
What do you think about the other topics?
@roasted pancakes Well, I'm studying some archeological topics and prophecies. This 2 topics are the last thing I'm going to study (Because, you know, you can't say the whole story is unreliable just because two things we don't know, the Bible never agreed with that David action. And Samuel could be a bad spirit (Saul never saw the summoned Samuel, go read it) or just God letting him know the future.
But, later I'm gonna study those topics.
@roasted pancakes Yep, but there is actually a book about that and other aspects. Is God a moral monster? by Paul copan, maybe you would like to read it. Blessings.
Your work is just in a league of its own but some of our skeptic friends will still say that's not really evidence.
As I have watched or read the arguments of Biblical sceptics, it has always surprised me to see just how lacking their scholarship is. In the video excerpts you included, it is obvious the "experts" are relying on the false principle of "absence of evidence is evidence of absence." Actually, proving a negative (no camels in Levant) is logically impossible to anyone but someone who knows everything.
As I recall, early archeological skeptics cast aspersions on the Bible claiming it to be in error for there is no archeological evidence that the Hittites ever existed, until - oops - archeological evidence was found.
Very nice, and good background music, too. What's the name of the tune?
The problem with pseudo- skeptics is they have no skepticism on bible deniers.

Could the word ‘camel’ be a mistranslation for some other animal? The Maltese (a dialect of Arabic) word ‘giemel’ means ‘horse’, for example.
I always found this puzzling. How in the world could they assert for certain that they didn't have camels? How in the world can something like that be known for certain

I'll add to that:
Outside of the Mediterranean coast, Canaan is hill country, with lots of water sources, especially in those early times.
On another topic, have you found a resolution of St Paul and the Malta/Melita venomous snake issue? Malta has no venomous snakes, but Melita (which has venomous snakes) would require a detour to get to Syracuse on the way to Rome.
Idea for next comic book movie franchise. ..

If this is the --hump-- hill the septic skeptics are choosing to die on, you know they're in full desperation mode!
If you think about it, it's extremely difficult to claim something didn't exist long time ago somewhere. To prove that something did exist, you only need to show one instance of it existing, but to prove it didn't exist... it's actually impossible, the best you can say is that there is no proof or no reason to believe it did.
It could say they were in jets and christians would believe it or make their weak excuses. How do we cope with large numbers of ppl committed to incorrect ideas?
I have land in the plains of Oklahoma where we know that huge herds of Buffalo once roamed and were hunted for thousands of years. I've never found any Buffalo remains or stone heads on my property. My inability to find them isn't proof they weren't here. Archeologists come to weird conclusions
Gotta love that old clip of Kyle Kulinski (Secular Talk) thinking he just dunked on the Bible not realizing he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Many big errors... genesis says nothing about speciation via evolution.... this is expected since it was not known until 2000 years later
You are wrong, genesis says everything (except god) has a beginning.
