hey man just some words of advice for fishin for pike is that you should always use a steel leader because if you get a big one no doubt they will bite the line clean off and you'll lose a 5 dollar plus hook right there another word of advice is that pike like to eat smaller pike use hooks that look like smaller pike and last tip is that pike eating season is more in the winter pike taste more sloppy when you eat em in the summer but during the winter they're meat tense up and taste better
Dude we've fished there probably half a dozen times and never caught anything!!! Super jealous. It's only about 30 minutes away so we're going to give it a try again.
Pike have these weird Y bones, so if you filet them the traditional way you get wrecked. But there’s a way to cut them so you get 3 boneless filets - should be some solid tutorials on YT
You are one cool young man. If you get up in the Salt Lake County area next summer, give me a holler and I will take you to a brook trout lake where you can catch 2-5 pounders. And I will be happy to let you fillet them and fix them up for dinner. Thanks for another great video.
It’s better to clip the fish to the stringer by popping it through their jaw as opposed to through their gill plate. The metal rubs against their gills and they won’t live as long. Just an FYI for the future. But hey, I’m just a guy commenting on the internet lol
If you catch em in cold water, pike is as good eating as any fish. Not hard to get those y-bones out either for two boneless fillets. Same bone structure as a trout actually, but just more pronounced.
The goat running past the truck: baAaAaA 😭 lmao

When fishing for pike like that you don’t need a steal leader just a mono or flouro leader 30-60lbs
Love seeing a new vid pop up!!!!

I've kayaked this whole "lake", it's mostly less than 3ft deep except for at the north Eastern end. I'm going to have to try for a pike. Nice video.
Did you get that pike?
What you said about pike in the first minute or so was bang on.

yo it you
I’ve never caught a pike. Or any toothy fish at that point. Good work man!
“Just gonna be chillin here watching some tictoc” sums up everything I was thinking😂😂😂
Awesome fish
Awesome video
Hey man cool video. I love catching pike. I have two master angler badges here in my state for pike. They are delicious to eat. Keep up the good work.

Best way to eat pike is make it into fish cakes! Nice catch bud! 🤙🏼
I’m a day late watching this but I love watching your videos❤️
Bhaaaa Bhaaa!
Nice video, that first one looked more like a musky

Need a cover for that rice. You're letting all the steam escape. Cover it, lower the flame - less flame needed to boil water.
I can honestly say I've never thought about eating pike. You made it look good though!
I love fishing there
Rice a roni will soak up the extra water after you gotta let it sit for a bit
Awesome! 😀
Nice. I've never tried pike.
I've only caught one pike and It was a blast to catch. Curious on how you like the taste.
Nice video I haven't coth pike but I really want to cathc one
Everyman for themselves? Or did you share food with Grayson? ;) Another great video.

Oh man I want to catch a pike so freaking bad!! Their my ultimate bucket list fish! Jealousy levels rising... 😂😂
Same
Thanks
I accidentally caught a pike going after brown trout. Got him on a rainbow trout rapala and fought super hard.
Hey where u from my dude?
Hey I need to know where I can catch catfish....please....I have only caught them at Lake Powell but would like go somewhere else.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎣
10:30 I actually have done this to a walleye head. Its kinda tricky to do it right but it looks cool!
Its complitely safe to hold the pike in gillplate
in my opinion are stringers bad i use a keepnet its better for the fish
If I could only take one lure fishing, it would be a Rapala!
Where I’m from in north idaho we kill and actually have bounty’s on pikes, grab them by the eyeballs
Keeping snagged fish? Don’t know about that one bud
And then U let it go after putting it on the stinger? U gotta learn how to treat fish properly, most likely that pike will die.
How old are you my guy
The first one Is not a pile it is a muskey
Pretty sure it’s illegal to release a fish once it’s been on the stringer
Not sure if keeping snagged pike is legal ???
I was thinking the same thing. Its illegal where I'm from
Snagging is a style of fishing in some states so who knows
Looks like a musky
It’s a cousin of the musky and half of the tiger musky
Bud u caught a musky now a pike mukey have the strips going vertical nit horizontal and the pike doesn't have dots on its tale
They're both pike. Nice try though. We don't have musky in Utah, just tiger Musky. Pike can still have dots on them
Northerns are very good but finger food.
I’m from the northern utah area and was wondering where this was at would like to try for some pike there if anyone minds filling me in? Thanks!
You must be in warm waters. Bass and pickerel taste nasty
glad you released the snagged one, bad decision in the first place to even think about keeping him
Pass
I love fishing utah, colorado area cant wait to leave commiefornia!
