Belarus to New Cumnock

In 2001 children from Belarus were invited to come to Ayrshire to help aid their recovery from the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster which happened in Ukraine on Saturday 26 April 1986.
The rain clouds with nuclear fall-out even dropped on Scotland and polluted rivers, lochs and land.
The inhabitants of Belarus were eating food and drinking water which contained radiation and their health and lifespans were being dramatically affected.
After only a week in Scotland and the improvements in the children's' health could already be seen.
Myself and Kenny Caldwell were only notified that this group were in New Cumnock with only two days left of their stay and were asked to make a short film to record this visit.
