I currently own 3 two hens and roosters they are very intelligent and pretty much take care of themselves. I paid $50 for all 3 from a man who was moving out of state

We have 4 ayam cemani chicks. They're so so funny! They hold their own with the older chickens. Very feisty.. My husband and I jokingly call them our feral jungle chickens. 😂
I just got 8 of them at a small animal auction. 3 are youths and 5 are young. They just called them black chick's. The 3 older ones were $8.00 each and the 5 older chick's were $1.00 each had no idea what I came home with. Joined a chicken group and they knew right off what they were

She has not moved and I don’t know how many more eggs there are, because she gets quite upset when I try to see. Her rooster is extremely protective of her when I get too close. I don’t know if any more of her eggs are viable. What should I do?

I own a roo and hen, also have some of their offspring. I can say the roo is quite sweet but not a cuddlebug. Yes they are low maintenance. I normally ask for about 100 each for an unsexed chick. And you are correct about low egg production. This is not the bird for large volume of eggs 🙂

I don't know where you get your info from, but they are NOT that expensive. Nor are they really even "rare". You can buy hatching eggs on eBay at any time and they certainly are not that expensive. The white Cornish is certainly much more rare and expensive.
Yeah it only took me a couple of days to find some chicks on FB market place and I only paid $10 each. Sure… it’s triple what I pay for most other chicks… but $10 ain’t bad for a really awesome bird. I’m sure it also depends on your location and demand.
I have 1 male and 2 females. They act like regular normal chickens. The only difference is the color of their skin. Nothing outstsnding or out of this world other than that.
